@mermaidca@sheknows6@lyse01 thanks for the input guys! I have not been exercising as much as I was previously, so it could be muscle mass loss. But I also haven’t been puking... probably just eating less. I also have never been a drinker, so giving up alcohol wasn’t really a factor for me. I’ll give my dr a call today. I have an appt Monday, but I’d rather know now than wait til then. Thank you!
@lyse01 hah. I should have cc'd her boss, but it didn't occur to me. I did send her a very pointed response about how she should probably check with employees before copying their boss on confidential information. She half apologized and was like, "but I thought you'd already told your boss!" Ugh. Yes, I told him I was pregnant, but I hadn't brought up taking actual leave (which I'm not even sure if i will). There's sort of an assumption that I'll keep working even after I have the baby, and I'm still trying to navigate that.
i do prefer to praise in public and correct in private, so I’m not sure the cc is something I would have done, but it would have felt nicely vindictive.
@professormama I would be irate on so many levels. She should have some repercussions since this is a confidentiality issue and she did not do her part. It doesn't matter if your boss knows or not, it's not her place to say.
I know I'm beating a dead horse because others have said the same thing, but I'm a social worker and confidentiality is a big thing with me!
I couldn’t remember if/what cough and throat drops are pregnancy safe while I was in target this morning so I bought jolly ranchers to have while I wait to hear back from my doc.
It sorta works, right? Lol

Just a mini rant- I didn’t get my nausea medication until this afternoon and I was told not to take it until bedtime. Great. So here I am hugging a toilet until I get off work at 4. Not only that but I have to go wax someone’s lulu at 430 and I can’t cancel. I’m praying I don’t throw up all over her mermaid purse.
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time @harveyisaboysname. I also don't think I can take you seriously with words like "lulu" and "mermaid purse". How have I never heard those before?! HAhaha. That should be a new thread! "What do you call...."

I this thread. Mermaid purse has me cracking up.... .
My DS calls it my "china." I've told him the correct term, yet it always comes out in between "'gina," and "china." He asked me yesterday how our baby is going to get out of my tummy... then when I explained (sorta), he said, "Won't it be dirty after coming out of your china?"
I’ll have to add full danger clam to my services i ended up having to apologize a million times for canceling but she understood since she had really bad morning sickness with her first. I feel bad because now she has to wax her own danger clam for her trip
In things my kids say, yesterday my 5 year old asked me how many grams of sugar was in her rice cake. I guess her kindergarten teacher is discussing nutrition with them. Completely caught me off guard. I had to read her the nutrition label for her to be content eating it. Not sure what her cut off is on grams of sugar but 3 grams is acceptable I guess, since she ate it.
@professormama shouldn’t FMLA cover benefits during the 12 weeks? OR are you meaning the employee contribution portion?
i did some reading up on our HR policy (because our department is not on site) and I totally fucked my self out of $7k because of a misunderstanding I had about basic disability and supplemental short term disability. Ugh.
Im exhausted. I set my husband up on a date with his friend because I didn’t want to go to this event tonight. And I knew he wanted to go but wouldn’t go alone.
I showed up to work this morning and the other two ELA teachers in my grade level both have colds. I'm trying to keep my distance, but I don't think this is going to go well for me...
I feel your pain! I'm a kindergarten teacher, and my two other teammates are sick already! I've been lucky so far, but I feel like it's only a matter of time - especially with kiddos who don't cover their mouths and noses sneezing all over the place, haha! Good luck to you!
@lovelybabybumpz FMLA protects me from losing benefits. But my employer will not pay their contribution during that time. It’s f*ed up that we don’t have maternity benefits in the US.
@professormama I agree 100% with how screwed up it is that we don't get maternity benefits. My husband's job recently put in a program where he gets time off for paternity leave without using vacation though so some companies are coming around. My company gives short term disability for 6 weeks and then FMLA after that. I took 12 full weeks with my last one and the burden was difficult but doable for having the time with my little. I have insurance elsewhere though otherwise I would be paying into that separately as well.
Ummm I had been out for a couple days because of this wretched summer cold and now I'm at my desk DYING at mermaid purse and danger clam. Thanks for the AM giggles ladies.
@sdelg09, ugh, that sounds awful! My DH has always said he has very action-packed/murdering bad guys-style dreams. Luckily I haven't had anything like that yet, mine tend to be very graphic sex dreams instead . Or just really weird and convoluted ones!
All of my recent graphic dreams have been about scary things happening to DS. Like kidnapping. Or me getting arrested for no reason while hes with me . It's horrible!
I'm irrationally jealous that the new May BMB gets to use the Justin Timberlake "It's gonna be may" gif. I already saw it once while lurking and I love it.
ETA spelling matters.

@mermaidca I can’t believe there are already May due dates. I feel like I just got my BFP.
Oh my gosh I feel the opposite. I feel like it's been forever - can hardly believe its only been 5 weeks. Probably because I'M STILL WAITING FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT
@thatbaintforbetty@mrdcle I feel like I've known forever. I'm just glad to see our group moving down the list! It feels more real! (Maybe a FFFC) I love lurking and I love the crazies that usually come with a new BMB. I thought we would have some here but it's been pretty tame! There was that one that posted she wanted to join but it was like 3DPO or something but nothing came of it.
