Oddly enough my gums are the best theyve ever been. Since finding out i was pregnant ive been flossong religously.. which im not usually great at so im sure thats it for me. I went to dentist at about 7 weeks and the hygienest even commented how surprised she was because normally women bleed more.
That and my face is pretty clear, i normally sport at least a pimple or two... have only had a cpl total so far this preg.
the refulx has already started, I'm halfway through the big Tums bottle. I had horrible reflux with DD too. Luckily, the old myth was right with her and she came out with a decent amount of hair. Hope it holds true. The reflux always makes me wake up at night and get sick. It's worse than the 1st tri sickness! Ugh
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
My gums are bleeding as well and they did with DD too. It’s really gross to be brushing your teeth and tasting blood. Blood and mint is not a good combo.
And you don't want to hear about my heartburn. It's horrific and will just get worse. I'm on meds and I'm still going through a bottle of tums a week. We can't find the big ones anywhere and I can only do the mint ones. Thank you other babies for giving me a hiatal hernia and barrets esophagus.
I fucking feel miserable tonight. I'm nauseous, can't get comfortable. I'm anxious, my skin is crawling. I am seriously going to lose my shit tonight!! Ugh rant over..
@allthingsgo - I’ll have another endoscopy done after pregnancy and they’ll decide whether or not I need surgery. It’s pretty bad when not pregnant too.
@sonicearplugs I hear you on the constant congestion! I've had that since about week 5 or 6 and can't wait for that to finally fuck off. I sleep with nasal strips sometimes and it helps but I try not to do it every night because it destroys the delicate skin on my nose.
Also add me to club heartburn. It was so bad when I woke up today. Debilitating, even after tums and zantac. And here it comes again...
@danixbanani24 everyone keeps asking me about cravings. Honestly I have a lot more cravings when I'm not pregnant. As soon as the nausea sets in nothing ever sounds good to eat and I'm never excited about food.
@kayjay44 I also have a hiatal hernia. And I get pretty bad gastritis from time to time because once I took doxycycline and I've never been the same since. What a joy.
@notthecheat - I’m sorry you deal with it too! I’ve been dealing with mine since 2012 when I dry swallowed a Zoloft on the way to work. Needless to say I never dry swallow any pills anymore.
@Hannahbanana54 I'm with you on the nose bleeds. I think I am either congested or bleeding. My gums are fine but not my nose.
Still lots of gagging for no reason. Heartburn is ctazy and tums are sometimes helping.
@grebretso also with you in the ache department. Seriously I am dying. I wish there was one thing that didn't hurt but nope. Screwed up my whole left side because of my stupid dog.
And hello to insomnia and also irritability. Do not poke the bear.
Can't remember who posted it but yes I hate being preggo right now too. The only cool thing is at least I am showing so now at least people don't think I just wear my shirts partially unbuttoned for fun to show my undershirt.
The skin on my belly is incredibly sensitive - just the feeling of my not-overly-tight pants is unpleasant. I'm moisturizing but it doesn't feel dry or itchy, it's something else. Anyone else? Any remedies aside from not wearing clothes?
@becks_726 I’m with you on the sensitive stomach skin! It does itch sometimes too, but it’s not dry. More just extremely sensitive to the touch. Switching to my super soft full band maternity leggings definitely helped, it’s like being hugged by a cloud.

I am done with this fucking heat. Send me a goddamn snow storm...nyc is a serious suckhole of shit right now ugh!! I can handle dry heat but the suffocating humidity is heinous
I have an aversion to working at work. Every time I work at work I am nauseous all afternoon! I don't have this problem when on vacation or when I work from home.. Ughhhh
I feel you @danixbanani24 I am so ready for Fall - was 50/50 going to pass out waiting for train yesterday. Next few days are supposed to be in the 70s so we’ll have some relief... Hallelujah
@casperthefriendlybeeb OMG I took the train this morning and almost died on the platform. Drippingggggg sweat. I usually take an express bus because it’s right on the corner by where I live but this morning I was going in late. Fall/winter/nuclear winter I am so ready
sleeping is getting rough and im hardly popping. When I sleep on my side, it just feels like im putting so much pressure on my nearly non-existant bump... and that's even with a pregnancy pillow... Anyone have tips?? The only way that feels reasonably okay is if I kind of stick one side of the pillow like a wedge under my back and hug the other side, so im kind of 45 degrees rather than 90, if that makes sense?
@cass06_07 I definitely felt my bump impeding on my sleep position before I expected it to. It really took me by surprise! I've been using a normal pillow as a wedge under my bump and I'm really hoping the pregnancy pillow I've order will help further. Are you wedging yourself more or less on to your back?
I've always been a side-sleeper, but somehow I'm now getting really bad piriformis pain on my right side, to the point where slight movement of that leg causes pretty bad pain. I've had issues with my piriformis in the past due to a running injury, but this is way worse (and I've not even been running!). I've tried foam rolling and using a pressure point ball twice each day (which is akin to torture), but nothing is helping. I think I need to make an appointment for physical therapy or a deep tissue massage on my right buttock. LOL My pregnancy pillow arrives on Monday and I can't wait.
Which pillow did you order @hannahbananas11? Mine will be delivered by my MIL who is kindly running across town to pick it up for me this weekend but I won't get for another few weeks.
Ugh. Spent 20 minutes making breakfast. Only to puke up entire said breakfast. Now I still have to clean up from making the breakfast I didn't get to digest, I can't get this bitter taste out of my mouth and I'm still fucking starving but nothing sounds good. I'm so tired of this shit.
@becks726 I ordered an off-brand Snoogle from Amazon. It was about $50 instead of $70 for the Snoogle, so expensive enough for me to hope that it's good, but not so expensive that I loathe the pillow. I really hope that it helps with the piriformis pain! I think I must be sleeping in some weird kind of way that I didn't before getting pregnant.
Sleeping is getting tough here too. I’m a stomach sleeper and it’s getting to the point where I can’t. However laying on my side causes excruciating pain in what I call my “rump” (upper thigh near the butt). It hurts so bad after laying on it for a few minutes so I’ve been trying back sleep or wedging a pillow under my bump with a pillow between the legs...I change positions all night
@hannahbananas11- I figured I would not the only one on this insomnia train. So lame.
My initial wake ups tend to be from heartburn or needing to pee, my son making some noise on the monitor, or a weird dream, but then I can never go back to sleep, until of course I start drifting hours later right before it is time to wake up
i dig my snoogle. It definitely helps with versatile hip propping options etc.
@hannahbananas11 I just ordered a snoogle off amazon as well. I can't wait to get it on Monday, really hoping it helps with comfort and sleep. I am with all of you in terms of sleeping being uncomfortable/waking up through the night/needing to pee all the time/weird dreams.
@notthecheat I'm sorry you're still getting sick, I hope you'll get to the other side soon!
becks_726 , Im kind of wedging it in my back to that my bump is pointing more to the ceiling but im kind of on the side of my back, not my full side, if that makes any sense? I think I need to take some stuffing out of my pregnancy pillow, maybe that will help some...

Ok insomnia, I think we can cool it.

+ 1 on the heartburn
+ 1 on the insomnia, which I blame on unisom. I sleep like a rock when I forget to take it.

But theres than 2nd tri energy(ish). Definitely not as great as it was with DS but I don’t feel dead at the end of the day which is fun!
Edited because the app is wonky af.
Are you wedging yourself more or less on to your back?
Thanks for letting me vent.
