Belly Binder - have you or will you use one? Which one?
I used one for both my prior kids and they are not fun and I probably stopped wearing it too soon because its hot and uncofortable, maybe there are better ones out there by now?
I used the belly bandit both times. With my daughter I loved it and used it for like a month (vaginal delivery). This time around I used it for the first three days (it really did help with walking and standing upright) but then I had terrible bruising around my c-section incision (probably more from the actual surgery than the bind) but it freaked me out nonetheless and I stopped using it. BUT it really did help immensely with pain and recovery and I'd do it again. My friends who didn't bind were still unable to walk after several days. I was doing great the next day, walking back and forth to the NICU with no problems.
I just got this one this week for pregnancy https://a.co/fmlrnSn. So far I like it. I wore it for a few hours yesterday (mostly in the AM) and it seemed to help somewhat.
@sammierose464 that's the one I use! It's been great for me, especially during workouts, but I do have to wear it over a tank top as I just don't like how it feels against my skin. I wear it under dresses for workdays too when my back is hurting and it's not noticeable.
I had the belly bandit postpartum, but it was a little hot and it's kind of stiff, so i actually ended up wearing a pair of spanx high-waisted undies i already had and loved it.
I didn't use one with DD because they are way too expensive. This time I bought some high waist leggings that I'll wear once my maternity leggings get loose. It's nice to have something to hold in the extra flab, but I don't feel like I need anything fancy (Says the lady with the $25 swaddle on her "must-have" list).
Post partum...I havent' used anything during pregnancy.
Oh girl, you are lucky lol. My and my belly band (looks like the same as others above from AZMED) are together all day now. Low back pain is nonstop for me.
@jemmerjams I've had back pain but never looked into a support belt. My back pain seems like its "looseness" in the area - relaxin. I only thought of pregnancy belts to extend the use of my regular jeans lol. I went straight to chiro instead of a support belt. hmmmm.
@jemmerjams, have you looked into or asked your doc/chiro about using K tape? I remember my chiro taping me a bit during my last pregnancy to help with some of the lower back pain and it was fabulous!
Following! I did not use anything post partum with DD, but since I will be having a c section this time around I heard bands/belts/binders are great for keeping everything together. Anyone have one they love that worked well after a c section?
Post-partum, I used one supplied by the hospital for about a week. I especially appreciated it a couple of days after surgery when I wanted to sleep on my side - I didn’t feel like everything was shifting weirdly.
I want the MamaStrut! It has pelvic floor support as well as abdominal support. Plus you can use ice pads and heat pads with it lol. I used lots of ice directly post par tum last time. https://www.mamastrut.com/
