I’ve been eating a lot of vegetarian Indian, Asian, and Mexican foods lately. Give me all the veggies and a side of rice please!

I also have an incredibly specific craving for this drink called a sherbet cooler that we used to get at Friendly’s as kids that kind of tastes like a creamsicle in a glass. I had to look it up - turns out Friendly’s is still a thing, but not the sherbet cooler. Le sigh.

I’m pre diabetic which I was managing well before pregnancy, and got put on a diet this week by my diebetic team. I need to create a menu for this week that actually sounds good.

My  husband is in a rib and wing competition later this month so he keeps making ribs and wings getting ready for it. He keeps making me try them and this baby does not want them.  :/

We have two sleeping beauties in heaven.
Jack gained his wings on 09/02/2016.
Kali gained her wings on 07/28/2015.
They will be forever missed. <3

@maggiemadeit I’ve not had a sherbet cooler, but if you’re craving a creamsicle in a glass try the orange flavored pellegrino soda over vanilla ice cream. MH came up with the idea and they’re pretty tasty.

@meggyme That sounds AMAZING. I bought oranges and that orange vanilla seltzer to try to make a healthy version, but it’s just not the same!

Bamba peanut snacks from Trader Joe's. They are like cheetos but with peanut butter instead of cheese. They make my nausea a little better too!

Grapefruit juice and saltines are my current panacea for morning sickness. Hoping this nausea fades soon!

I'm really into rice right now. Way too many carbs happening over here. Going to try curbing it in 2nd Tri. I also had a DQ blizzard tonight (cookie dough) after all the talk in these threads.....  :p

Mainly into fruits, salads and eggs....pretty boring! Occasionally, I'll have cookies n' cream ice cream at night, but no real sweet cravings. I think the ice cream is just in my head knowing it's in the freezer.  :D

Carbs are basically life right now... they’re the only thing that helps keep the nausea/sickness at bay. I’m not even enjoying eating right now (oooo, and apparently I’m whiny this Monday morning).
  • Options
Still obsessed with bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit (I ate 3 nectarines in 2 days!) and beans + rice bowls

Today the only thing I can eat that won't send my stomach in to cart wheels is crackers or plain carbs.

Carb city over here too and I don't have the nausea excuse.

My morning egg and turkey bacon bagel with garden herb cream cheese is the highlight of my day.

I just ate an entire box of Kraft Mac & Cheese and now I feel terrible. It tasted so good going down though!

    @purpleteacher82 that sounds delicious!

Ice cream rocks (and not just because it settles my upset stomach). Nightly doses here!

Yes!  Mint chocolate chip ice cream is my best friend in the evenings.  The mint settles my stomach so quickly and I don't eat the chocolate chips lol

Dr. Pepper, ice cream and any carbs. Huge aversion to most normal foods right now. Terrible junk eating happening.

Plain potato chips are my cure all.  Seriously, I just stumbled on this myself: a quarter of a tiny bag of chips, and my appetite was back, nausea was gone!  Then I google it, and apparently it's a thing.  Probably doesn't work for everyone, but worth a shot, eh?  Good luck!

My cure for nausea recently has been iced chai lattes. The ginger, cloves, cardamom, etc. in chai helps aid digestion and settle your stomach. There's a little bit of caffeine, but it is the only caffeinated beverage I drink during the day. So, I'm going with it.

I'm holding out to have it as a treat on the weekend, but I am seriously craving biscuits and honey!
  • Options
@southerngirlinwi Now that you mention biscuits, I've been craving biscuits from this one restaurant that was near our house in San Diego... so yummy with smoked tomato jam. *drool* I might need to find a good recipe/restaurant here, but a lot of the stores here tend to do sweet potato biscuits and that just doesn't cut it for me lately.

Realized I posted this in the wrong week so I'm reposting it here! Whoops!

This could totally also go in "randoms" but one thing I'm loving about being pregnant is not arguing with DH about food. Whatever I want.... he lets me make the calls when normally he'd totally b*tch and complain!

Example: I LOVE thai food. He's "eh" about it. We get it very occasionally because it's not his favorite but this week he agreed to it Tuesdsay night. I drive all the way to my favorite spot 15 minutes away and the place is randomly CLOSED! I was devastated and *neeeeeeded* thai food anyway, so we went to a new place and it wound up being horrible. Today I said "I know we just had it two days ago but I really never scratched my thai food itch...... do you mind if we have a re-do tonight for dinner?" and he magically, and quickly, replied "no problem babe" - AMAZING!!!! If only it were that easy all the time

So.... What my pregnant self is eating: steamed thai dumplings, basil chicken (minced). Please and thank you.

Not craving anything in particular this week. I still don’t have much of an appetite so I’ve been eating a lot of soup. Maybe I’ll be making a lot of soup this winter?!
