This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):
Waiting for my beta to drop to zero and once I get my period we will do a saline sono and repeat endo biopsy. Beta was 75 as of Thursday so thankfully it’s coming down quick
How are things going?:
things are going okay. I had my WTF meeting with my doctor on Wednesday and our new med protocol for my transfer is intense but in lol fairness I did tell him I would do anything and everything if it would help and not hurt. Looking forward to moving forward again.
Any questions?:
anyone whose had FETs before what was your med protocol?
GTKY: Tell us an embarrassing story about yourself
when I was in college it was the first warm day of spring so of course I couldn’t wait to bust out my jean skirt (this was when they were in style). I walked to class and freaking tripped and skinned both my knees and blood was visibly dripping down both knees like I was 7 years old because I had to wear the damn jean skirt. Anyway I saw people taking out their digital cameras (days before smart phones haha) and I was mortified they were taking pictures of me. Anyway, they wound up taking pictures of this squirrel right next to me that accidentally had a cigarette butt hanging out of its mouth as if he we smoking it. That squirrel did me a solid that day as it took all the attention away from me and I was super grateful
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW - CD22
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Waiting to see if this cycles has been successful for our last natural try or else for AF to make an appointment to get IUI started.
How are things going?: The dreaded TWW. I really want to be hopeful that our last time trying naturally might have worked for whatever unexplained reason, but I also want to be practical that AF may come and we'll be on a whole new journey.
Any questions?: Not right now.
GTKY: Tell us an embarrassing story about yourself
When I was about 3 or 4 I went to a local minor league baseball game with my mom and my older brother. The pitcher was great and already struck out 2 batters. Next guy up kept hitting foul balls and had 2 strikes. On the last pitch I stood up in my seat and as the batter swung and missed the last pitch I screamed at the top of my lungs, "Three strikes you're out, you big loser!" My mom was so embarrassed and everyone around us busted out laughing. My mom loves to tell that story now to embarrass me as pay back.
@thegirlwhowaited_ I hope you get some of the HSG cycle magic and don't have to move on to IUI. But if you do, at least you'll be in the company of some of the most supportive (and badass) women I've ever known!!
Diagnosis (if you've been): low AMH/DOR; high prolactin
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI with clomid
How are things going?: Well, it turns out the OPK last week was a false positive; I got my "normal" glaring positive yesterday and have the IUI scheduled for this afternoon. I feel nearly equal parts nervous and excited about this. And I feel like for the first time in a very long time, I actually have some chance here.
Other than that, I'm just hoping that these damn headaches go away after I O; they been lingering ever since I stopped the clomid. Although thankfully not quite as persistent as they were on the last day of clomid.
Any questions?:

I was once out to lunch with a guy I was interested in (kind of a date but not really) at Arby's. We were sitting there eating and a fart slipped out; they had the wooden booth seats too, which I think magnified it. I waited for him to say something and when he didn't, I just kept on talking and eating. About 4 hours later, he just starts bursting out laughing out of nowhere while we're driving around because he couldn't pretend any longer that he didn't hear it.

@lulu1180 yes! for a second chance at a first chance. Hope things go well this afternoon and that those headaches go away soon.
@thegirlwhowaited_ GL to you. FX that, like lulu said, you got some of that HSG magic. If you do have to do IUI, we're here to support you.
Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): baseline appt tomorrow and I will get my calendar and likely start stims tomorrow night
How are things going?: as good as can be expected. I am anxious in both the nervous and excited ways. Working on focusing on today.
Any questions?: The follistim pen needles have a little 2 with a "no symbol" but it is a multi-use cartridge. Can I use the same needle until the cartridge is empty? I won't have enough for the full stim cycle if I don't reuse.
GTKY: Tell us an embarrassing story about yourself: I'm terrible at remembering these things, I think I try to block them out, but beachbunny's story reminded me of one. I am pretty clumsy, (but it has improved with doing yoga) anyway, I had to take a summer pre-req before I started grad school I was walking back to my car and tripped on I don't know what and scraped my hands, both were bleeding, so I went in to the building and had to ask the program director of my grad program for band-aids. Great way to make a first impression.

@thegirlwhowaited_ you updated your name spelling! I hope you don’t need to move on, but I also get comfort in having it planned out either way, just in case. I’d rather not need to use a plan than not get the outcome I want and have no plan ready.
@beachbunnyxo123 good that your levels are coming down. If it’s ok I would love to get your FET protocol (also via PM if you prefer). I’m collecting all possible options to have on the table for when we finally start transferring again.
Diagnosis (if you've been): DOR AMA and all the autoimmune rubbish
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO (or WF ER)
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF#6
How are things going?: Curently CD12 and night 12 of stims today. Seven follicles in the running which is freaking amazing compared to what we saw a year ago. Biggest one is almost 20mm and smallest is 11mm. Need the smaller ones to catch up a bit. Estrogen rise from Friday to today was awesome - highest we’ve seen it prior to trigger in all rounds.
Back in for another monitoring tomorrow morning, then they will decide if we can already trigger or check again on Wednesday. ER Thursday or more likely Friday.
So the travel to the clinic will need last minute flight and hotel bookings but not the end of the world at this point.
Otherwise DH and I have two weeks vacation now. First week is all about this retrieval and I hope second week we can enjoy some quality time together without him having to stab me every night!
Any questions?:

@thegirlwhowaited_ (so I’m pretty sure I’ve been tagging you wrong, even before you changed it !!). Anyways, I hope you’re a SS and get KU before you need your first IUI!
@lulu1180 how did today go??

Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, mild pcos
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): wto
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): waiting for my body to get its act together!!
How are things going?: I’m annoyed that it seems like I’m having my first anovulatory cycle. If I get to Thursday without Oing or AF showing up, then I’ll start Provera.
Any questions?: Talk to me about Provera. How long did your RE have you on it and how long did it take AF to show up once you stopped? And any side effects or anything I should know about it?
GTKY: Tell us an embarrassing story about yourself. Towards the beginning of our relationship, H and I were at Halloween horror nights at universal. We were in a scare zone that was really foggy and holding hands. All of a sudden a drunk guy plows into me, stepping on my foot, and knocking me on my back. He definitely didn’t mean to do it but I was completely knocked over. Luckily H just picked me up And we went on our way. If he had mentioned anything about it I probably would’ve started crying.
@lulu1180 I am anxiously waiting to hear how your IUI appointment went. I even told MH about what happened last week and then your update this morning. He keeps asking if there’s an update lol. FX! We’re pulling for you!
Thank you for all the well wishes friends, they seemed to have worked! The IUI went very smoothly, the NP who did it even mentioned that my cervix was open and CM looked good. I didn’t feel anything when she inserted the catheter and afterwards, they elevated the table under my butt and told me to lay there for 10 minutes. The post-wash sperm count was 86 million. And now for the longest TWW of my life!!

@purplg8r Hoping your period starts soon! I have taken 5 days of Provera to jump start cycles. I usually bled within 1-2 days of the last dose. The sx can be about what you’d expect from any progesterone- you may or may not get them. I had night sweats & was extra PMSy each time I have used it. I think @KristoKekerooni used it heading into IVF.
@emmasemm FX this is the lucky #7 cycle for you & all those beautiful follies!
@beachbunnyxo123 Thinking of you & hoping you’re finding ways to take care of yourself.

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): We did an injectable IUI cycle.
How are things going?: I continue to perseverate on the thought I possibly did not ovulate until much later than I should have with the trigger. There’s nothing I can do about it. This cycle will work or it won’t. I’m scared if it doesn’t, I will talk myself in one more IUI to see if we can up the trigger. And I really want to be done after twice as many IUI as we agreed upon in the beginning. If it does work, I’m scared of the guilt of moving for forward without other IFers, here & IRL. I hate hurting others.
Any questions?:
GTKY: When MH & I first started dating, after he left for work, I had a bout of diarrhea in his toilet. It clogged. And about overflowed. I decided to leave it & come back at lunch bc I was late to work. At lunch, I kept making it worse. I tried his plunger, I went home & got my plunger. NOTHING WORKED. I was texting my sister play by plays & had no clue what to do without telling him & risk being mortified. I went back to work, spent the afternoon googling & fended up leaving work early to try a third time!! I had to take some of the toilet water out since it was right at the rim. All I had besides his kitchen cups was a disposable coffee cup. A whole lot of sanitizer later, and scrubbing down the whole bathroom- he didn’t know what happened for over a year until my sister told him.
@thegirlwhowaited_ dang it, just as I was getting used to your name lol. Right there with you girl. This would essentially be our last on our too (hopefully) before starting treatment too. Everything crossed for you!
@lulu1180 What a roller coaster of a cycle! So glad that you had that second chance and you were able to get the IUI done. Rooting for you!
@Avrilmai Good luck today! Happy to hear that you have enough needles, I did have a chuckle. I totally would have been worried about that too.
@emmanemm Cheering those follies along! I hope you have a wonderful vacation, minus the stabbing! Are you going to travel or stay close to home?
@purplg8r Hoping that AF shows up soon for you so you can get this show on the road.
@jrm_14 I really hope that you managed to catch O on this cycle and that it is successful. I can't speak for all the ladies here, but know that there should be absolutely zero guilt felt with moving on and graduating. We would be nothing but over the moon happy for you! I am pretty damn sure that everyone would agree.

Any questions?:
GTKY: Tell us an embarrassing story about yourself. I think I need to come back to this one.
@Avrilmai I’m glad you got the needle situation figured out; I’m pretty sure we’ve all had IF moments like that. Also, GL at your baseline this morning!
@emmasemm I’m so excited for this ER cycle! I’m sending all the good growing vibes for your follies to all have beautiful, mature eggs!
@purplg8r Ugh, sorry your body is being a TW! I hope it gets its shit together soon and figures out what’s going on!

Traveling to the clinic tomorrow, final monitoring we hope, with trigger and then ER Friday.
Come on follicles, just a few more days!

@beachbunnyxo123 What did your RE add to your protocol? I once was jogging while on cold medicine and tripped and fell right in front of a bus full of college kids… where was that magical cigarette smoking squirrel when I needed him?
@thegirlwhowated_ Fx for you on this cycle, I see you had an HSG recently and sometimes people do have success within a few months of that - even if there were no visible blockages just clearing out the tubes sometimes helps.
@lulu1180 I can't believe the rollercoaster of this cycle! I am so relieved you got to do the IUI after all and that YH's count was so good. I am so hoping this is the one!
@avrilmai How was baseline today? I have you in my thoughts as you start sticking yourself with all the needles. I know you can do it.
@emmasemm I've been so excited for each of your updates - grow follies grow! Do have any sense of the reason for the big shift in numbers?
@purplg8r Ugh, I'm so frustrated that of all the cycles for you to O late/not O this is the one. I hope it ends up working out so that the timing for your transfer works with your school schedule at least. I think I've heard it can be a few days after stopping Provera to get AF.
@jrm_14 I'm sorry you are second guessing when you O'd. I think all any of us can do is move forward when we feel ready, and sometimes that takes longer than we'd like. It's natural to have a fear of survivor's guilt (and feel survivor's guilt) but just know everyone will be so happy for you if this is your cycle.
Also, hello, I have long been a TTGP poster and stalker of this thread but I've never regularly participated. I know most of you well, but for the few of you I don't, I'm 36, DH is 35 and we've been TTC our first since March 2017. We've been working with an RE for 11 months (!) but I've never felt I quite fit in this thread until now because we weren't pursuing treatment and I don't have difficulty getting ku. *TW loss and pregnancy mentioned in spoiler
We decided to try on our own through April of 2018 and then move to IVF if I didn't get pregnant again or if I had another loss. I got pregnant for the fourth time in April. Everything seemed on track and at our first u/s we saw the HB. Unfortunately the following week the HB had stopped, likely within 24 hours of our appt. As difficult as that was we did another D&C and this time got a result - Trisomy 22. That finding solidified our decision to do IVF with PGS. Our RE seems confident that if we can find a good embryo we can have success, I really hope she's right. We are scheduled to do our first ER in September.
Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL likely due to egg quality
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFIVF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Benched and gently harassing my IVF nurse to get my calendar together for September.
How are things going?: Eh. I'm ready to get the show on the road. I've had to resist the urge to ttc on our own during this time because I am terrible at waiting - there's no reason to think ttc on our own would end any differently than it has every time before.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: Tell us an embarrassing story about yourself - Some of you know this but one time I pooped myself on a date…
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): waiting for AF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): well I had my adventure with the hysteroscopy and endo scratch last week. Now I wait to transfer
How are things going?:
Any questions?: I never bled from the procedure last week...is that normal??
GTKY: Tell us an embarrassing story about yourself
I embarrassed myself on a daily basis...where do I start? I think the best was when I got a trigger shot and passed out. I only had the gown on and I fell off the table and hit my head!
@zamora_spin I hate that you are here but we are all about supporting each other and making it through
@jrm_14 don't ever say that! We will all be so thrilled for you to leave here!!! You aren't allowed to have that guilt!
@emmasemm yay for those follicles!!!
@lulu1180 crossing my fingers for you and I hope this is the shortest tww ever

@jrm_14 I hope it does work—and if so, you shouldn’t feel guilty!! We all would be so happy for you! And your embarrassing story makes me cringe for you!
@nitnat007 I’m sorry AF showed up. I hope Sept comes quickly for you. All this hurry up and wait during IF sucks.
@emmasemm I’m so happy that your body is cooperating!! Hoping for another great appt for you tomorrow!
@zamora_spin I hate that you have to be here—but glad we can support you and hope the PGS testing is successful
@rallykat14 I think when I was questioning my bleeding too long after the procedure, someone (or maybe a few) said they didn’t bleed at all
@zamora_spin hey old friend! I’m sorry to see you here but I hope the PGS will help you find success fast.
by the way, not all karyotyping is equal... and every month the companies include more things they can test for. I know of several ladies who only have testing a large number of embryos with PGS found a common issue which then with more specific genetic testing for the parents identified a root cause.
@suzycupcake @purplg8r thanks! 6am and sitting on a plane in 28 degree centigrade heat better be worth it!

@rallykat14 When is your transfer estimated for and are they changing the protocol at all or just seeing if the scratch helps?
@emmasemm I'm keeping everything crossed that your 6 am flight is worth it and more!!!!

@thegirlwhowaited_ FX for your natural cycle success!
@lulu1180 So hoping this was a good IUI! And what magic that YHs count was up!
@Avrilmai Glad you figured out the needle situation, GL stimming this week.
@emmasemm Excited about 7 follies!! Can't believe you let your DH do the injections. FX for Friday as well.
@purplg8r Sorry for the An-O or late O.
@jrm_14 I never have the same O feelings w/trigger as I do w/"natural" O. And I think I can say that we all really, really want you to move on. I'd be so happy to hear of your success! LOVE your embarrassing story, it certainly brought to mind some memories for me.
@nitnat007 Hope this month flies by!
@zamora_spin Hope your nurse schedules everything soon and that the PGS will help you find the perfect embryo.
@rallykat14 Totally normal to either bleed or not. Hate to ask, but how was the endo scratch?
@lulu1180 waiting for AF and then starting up, probably early September. Got a few new drugs to add to the mix so hopefully at the baseline appointment I learn how they all come into play.
@emmasemm Ain't that the truth!!!!

@zamora_spin hey lady.
@rallykat14 are you still waiting on results from your procedure? any timeline on that?
@jrm_14 I understand the thoughts, the guilt, but I also know that I would love for everyone here to move on for happy/positive reasons and would never want to take that away from you. I sincerely hope you get to move on very soon and hope that you will see "graduating" as instilling hope in others. This IF stuff is so difficult and brings up so many emotions, and they are all valid, but remember as so many others have said, it is not the pain Olympics and moving on is what we all want for each other.
@lulu1180 @nitnat007 @purplg8r @emmasemm @zamora_spin thanks ladies. Baseline went well and started stims last night. next monitoring appt is Friday.
