@cali1710 I'm not a big water drinker, either. I used to drink lots of iced tea (hello, fellow Southerners!), but I'm trying to avoid caffeine so that's out. I've found that unsweetened iced rooibos tea is very tasty, though! No caffeine, no sugar, and you get some bonus health benefits from it. If you usually enjoy iced tea, give rooibos a try!
@cali1710 the only way I get even close to enough water is with my yeti and a straw. For some reason drinking from a straw makes it go faster and the yeti keeps it soooooo cold
@cali1710 I am usually a big water drinker, but have not been able to drink more than half a glass a day this pregnancy. Last time, a La Croix with lots and lots of ice was how I was able to drink water. This time, mint tea is how I get some water in. I've been trying to have soup for one meal a day to get more fluids in. I may try Roobios tea too as @hannahbananas11 suggests
ive had a horrible headache for days now. It just doesn’t go away and it’s probably tension related because it goes from my temple down the back of my head and neck. I’m drinking water like crazy and even trying strong coffee and Tylenol but it does nothing. Calling my doctor today to see if I can do anything else stronger. This just isn’t working for me
Drinking a lot of anything is a struggle for me, so I just don’t drink. I can go a whole day and realize I haven’t had anything liquid besides my morning coffee. If I force myself to drink water I just spend the whole day going to the bathroom, plus I get cold and dizzy from over hydration, so I’d rather not.

Y'all just convinced me to get a Hydro Flask, because I also only like ice cold water. Also, I just caved and got my first caffeinated beverage since the BFP (a strawberry refresher from Starbucks). I am in HEAVEN. But also kinda freaking out about having a whole 40 mg (*GASP*) of caffeine at 12 weeks. OB reassured me at my last appt that anything less than 200 mg is fine, but still. I think this will be a rare treat for me.
Just for sure felt the baby move for the first time and now I'm crying happy tears at work.
@hannahbananas11 - I've always done 200 mg until 12 weeks then I do whatever I feel like I need. Both of my kids are perfect (sometimes assholes, but pretty perfect). I drink as much as I need so the baby is used to caffeine when born so I can drink as much as I need to when BFing. Highly recommend.
@kayjay44 That is good to know! It's just so nice to be able to enjoy something that I really liked before getting pregnant. I also anticipate my child to be an occasional asshole. If they aren't, I'll probably question whether they are truly my child.
Despite the return of my nausea and those weird belly twinges, I’m still really nervous about my US tomorrow. I’ve basically convinced myself there’s something seriously wrong. I keep imagining going in and seeing no heartbeat, or them telling me one of the trisomies is likely. Chances are everything’s fine. Shut up, brain!

@grebretso I totally understand feeling that way! It sucks bc it steals the joy and excitement from the experience. Aren’t our worrying brains so fun? I mean why can’t they make up good stuff!
Anyway like you said I’m sure everything will be great and you will get to see your little baby bouncing around!
I’ve noticed with this pregnancy (and the damn heat) I only wanted iced water all the time. Anything else I just can’t get down. I used to be ok with just cold water from the fridge.
Also can someone please tell me how to get my kid to go the eff to sleep?! She has been bouncing around in her crib for the last 45 min instead of napping. She is going to be a terror if she doesn’t get a nap in today. Ugh
I've started feeling better during the day but I totally crash when DH gets home from work. Also, the gas is slowly starting to pop up, especially in the evenings. I hate the evenings!
@kayjay44 wow congrats on feeling your LO move! So exciting!
My MS was pretty much non-existent once I hit 13 weeks, but this 90+ degree heat wave has brought it back. Today, the train’s AC was cranking at about 50% power - the heat plus the stench of my fellow passengers who had basted in their own juices had me gaggin. Boof.
@bleucheeznwine lol at shipping cost. I don’t know how many times I’ve added cheap, useless items to my cart in order to get the total amount above the free shipping range.

@bleucheeznwine - I bought mine through Amazon - free shipping of course. I would die without prime. I bought a 40oz one for our Disney trip. It's GIGANTIC and I love it.
Another one here who can't eat the same portions as before. It took me a few uncomfortable evening to figure it out too. So I guess I'm going up to six meals a day now... I find room temperature water a lot easier to drink in volumes but I like sipping cold water. A new water fountain was just installed right around the corner from my cubicle so I've been getting up regularly and just half filling my bottle. It's a win-win!
@lzzfrancisco I had bad butt and leg acne with my first. My advice is to use a poof to exfoliate and to use salicyclic face wash (which is entirely safe to use as long as you’re not ingesting it).
I’m another person who finds that water tastes gross to me now that I’m KU. I’ve found that adding something slightly sour fixes it for me. I add a splash of grapefruit juice or orange juice to my water, and then it tastes nice to me. (I HATED orange and grapefruit juice before I was pregnant.)
thanks for all the water advice! It helps for me when its cold but my water bottle doesn’t keep things that cold in this heat. Ive never heard of a hydro flask/ yeti or roobois (are these things around is canada?!) I’m going to investigate.
@cali1710 I think rooibos is originally from South Africa...? It's a red herbal tea made from the rooibos plant. Tazo, Mighty Leaf and I think even Lipton all sell rooibos teas. It's pretty easy to find in grocery stores here in the US, but you'd definitely be able to find it in Whole Foods or some other health store.
Ugh I just went to pick something up off the floor and my lower back popped and I’ve never felt such pain! Currently laying on the couch while DD watches Mickey Mouse club house.
The all day nausea is backing off but now I have the exhaustion instead also the snail trail is in full effect so it’s time to invest in some panty liners again
I wake up every afternoon feeling like crap and it lasts until I finally fall asleep at night. Those few blissful hours in the morning are amazing and then bam, hit with the shit stick. Time to go suck on a million more tootsie pops to kick the nausea
Well I puked again. So much for my two week stretch. Empty stomach, walking too fast in the heat and then showering was probably not the best idea.
Oh and I got a nosebleed from puking. Hanging over the toilet bowl with blood coming out of my nose and bile from my mouth was a new experience. Pregnancy is truly glamorous.

Until today I didn't miss the random nausea, but then a headache from hell fell upon me that I could not get rid of. I missed being able to puke and feel moderately better for a short period of time, instead of feeling like I was being labotomized by worm from inside out...
First time posting here. But it has been an odd week. Massive dizziness and headache thursday. Felt ok friday then died saturday. So much dry heaving and nausea and stomach pains. Went to the er because I was scared something was wrong with baby. Turns out, she's fine but I had appendicitis. Got my appendex removed sunday and here I am. On the couch on pain meds and zofran. The real plus here is I get out of work for a bit and I got zofran to help with the nausea. This has been an almost nausea free week since my appendix was taken. So glad I am at 12 weeks and cannot wait till this trimester is over.
@hnbergeron that sounds horrible!! I’m so glad you went to the ER though. Hoping all the yuckiness wears off in the next few weeks!! The dizziness and headaches have killed me this pregnancy
