  • I don't understand the appeal of Cardi B. I think she sounds so dumb when she raps, like if Nicki Minaj got brain damage.
You always kill me with the stuff you come up with!

  • @Erinm278 totally agree. I know most people say it jokingly but it totally sends up red flags for me (which I know is a result of my abusive ex, but STILL.)

I don’t understand the appeal of typical shows people watch. I don’t like Grey’s Anatomy or Friends, and I don’t really think Parks and Rec is funny. Not even a big fan of The Office. But I will watch SVU ALL. DAY. LONG.
  • Another: I try not to pass judgement on other moms but I really don't think there's a need for a 5 year old to have a pacifier.  Both my kids were heavily addicted and we took them away cold turkey before they were 2.  It sucks for like a night or two then they forget about it.

  • @BourbonBiscuits Grey's Anatomy is on season 15 now like WHAT!?!

  • My Amazon orders show up on H’s phone as pop up alerts couldn’t sneak anything if I wanted to. Lol. I don’t like Cardi B or Nicki Minaj.

Hmmm. I can’t stand talent competition shows.
  • I know ... like I’m fine with them being on in the background, but I could never sit and WATCH them, you know?

But I’m also genuinely (not in an ironic way, I fucking love it) really into Shark Week, so I never claimed to have good taste lol

This just came up the other day with a friend: I cringe when I hear women say that they need to get home and hide the packages they got from their husbands.  I just don't understand that.  My husband would know I bought it anyway since we share the same account.  Plus we're 100% a team on the finances so I just don't get it.
I totally do that, even though we share a checking account. He loooooves to complain about me making too many purchases, and I don’t want to hear it 99% of the time. Judge. Away.

I can’t stand when people ask for a recommendation and then add “bonus points for xyz”

Just ask what you want to ask. I don’t need your stupid fictitious bonus points. If I have a rec I’ll give it to you. If I don’t your bonus points won’t entice me. Dumb. And I see it ALL THE TIME.

Also don’t say “...and go!” Like what I’m supposed to race to get it to you?

If you do either of these things I won’t recommend anything, even if I have a good one. Petty? Yes. Don’t care.
"And go!" Drives me absolutely insane. It is so ridiculously rude. Like, would you say that to people in conversation in real life?

  • @BourbonBiscuits I know it has not aged well socially, but I get serious nostalgia watching Friends. Parks and Rec, the Office, Grey’s.. meh meh meh. I quit watching SVU after the main cast left, but I LOVE Criminal Minds.

My husband literally knows nothing about our finances. I don’t hide anything from him, he just literally does not give a shit. We have a joint account, but I do all the bills and insurance and everything. I almost wish he would help sometimes  :D
  • My husband also gives no fucks about our finances. I doubt he even knows who provides our gas and electric.

    I think avocados are overrated.
  • Also I hate Disney World (had to get two in to make up for missing it last week).
  • I hate country music.

I enjoy almost every other style of music but just can't do country.

I hate it too but I also feel that liking country music is anUO? Haha.
  • I love Disney but I hate Mickey Mouse. I have since I was a kid. He’s such a goody two shoes know it all (DD is super into Mickey Mouse club house right now which has reignited my hate flames).

Man, it totally depends on the country music. I LOVE country artists like say, Waylon Jennings, Jason Molina and Bonnie Prince Billy (or Johnny Cash, duh), but once you get to crap like Billy Ray Cyrus and Garth Brooks, ya lost me. I feel like there's good and bad in all genres, but it's definitely more popular to hate country than to like it.

Prrreeeeeaaaacccchhhh. It’s probably more of an UO where I live because I’m in the Deep South, but I swear I’m the only person that can’t stand the stuff in the state besides my DH.
  • @grebretso oh yeah I love Bonnie Prince Billy and Johnny Cash! I was more thinking of more of mainstream radio hits country. It all sounds like the same crap to me.

@cmjenkies sounds like we grew up with a lot of the same stuff! No country in my parents' collection though, Norway isn't huge on that genre.

@allthingsgo yeah, a lot of the current mainstream country is just bland and boring. And what's up with all that autotune? Sounds like a bunch of robots in cowboy boots.

Whaaaaat! I love Garth Brooks.  I also like most country music in general but Garth is definitely my favorite artist. DS fell asleep to "The River" on repeat for several months.

To all you Garth Brooks fans, what did you think of his Chris Gaines pop persona?  Isn’t that kinda way out there to do? And maybe a tad egomaniacal? I had a friend in high school who was super into him and even she couldn’t get into it. I just can’t get behind someone like that nor take him seriously as a musician.

For someone like a Lady Gaga, I get it, but Garth is such a yokel it seems strange and unnatural to me.
  • @bleucheeznwine I know a girl who went to Disney on her honeymoon. ~*sUpEr rOmAnTiC*~

I’m in Evansville, so pretty close (1.5 hr drive) - but not New Albany/Jeffersonville/Floyd’s Knobs close.

PS: Floyd’s Knobs is the most awfully wonderful city name ever. One of my sorority sisters was from there and it always made me giggle.
  • @BourbonBiscuits we do live like less than 5 miles from the state line though. I was in Kentucky today actually - my best friend lives in Henderson.  :D
