Love donuts right now but definitely prefer the non filled ones. Speaking of, Yesterday I was so hangry and then one of my supervisees showed up with these. I actually almost cried.
Ohhhh when does apple picking season start? I think it’s September in New England. Adding that to my list of things to do before baby arrives just for the donut.
@rabtaido1214 September is apple picking season (and thus apple pie season), October is pumpkin picking season (and thus pumpkin bread season), November is bullshit and then December is tree picking season and mother effing christmas!!!
Can you tell that this time frame is my favorite time of the year?
Yum! Donuts... one of the orchards at my local farmers market sells those fresh cinnamon sugar apple cider delights in the fall. They are the best (and I don’t have to drive all the way out to an orchard to pick apples, although that’s enjoyable too).
@kiwi2628 mmm I love those cider donuts!! Those were always my favorite part of apple picking as a kid, getting them hot and fresh from the orchard!!
Also, filled donuts are awesome, how could some of you not like them?!? Boston cream filled are delicious, but basically give me any filled blue star donut and I’m a happy camper. Or any donut period. I just love donuts.
Edited to add - if anyone wants to crave a donut and doesn’t know what blue star donuts are, google them and start drooling...
@chopchop25 the chocolate buttermilk old fashioned one?? That’s my all time favorite of theirs! The Mexican hot chocolate one is pretty good too. Though really I love them all... I may have a blue star problem...
@chopchop25 yesss! I was sooo sad when they took it away, and then when they brought back the new version with the tea, I was worried I wouldn’t like it because bergamot/earl grey is the one kind of tea I have a strong dislike for, but luckily you can’t taste the tea at all! Tastes almost exactly like the original!!
I am laying off the donuts for 10 more weeks on account of the gestational diabetes. But I've already told my husband to bring me a box of donuts as soon as I finish birthing the child.
Pretzels dipped in Nutella and creamy peanut butter is dangerous to me! So good! Vanilla Custard filled long John is the best donut ! Also the only filled kind I like, so far. Not much variety in donuts here.
On the texture thing... I was reading an article, quite some time ago, about autism. I guess it's common for people with autism to have texture sensitivity, and it listed some things that may bother some of them. I kid you not, I was 10 for 10 out of the things they listed! I've searched for that article since, and have never found it. Some of the things it listed: tags on clothing, puddings with lumps- like tapioca, pulp in juice, muffins or cupcakes with nuts or berries in them, bread with whole grains, some soups, and some other things I can't remember. I thought, well, I guess that's my piece of autism. All those things bothered me, and as a kid, my family just thought I was super picky. Which, I mean, I kinda was
Donuts have been my weakness this pregnancy. I just found out Dunkin’ Donuts makes Boston cream munchkins. Only carried in like 3 stores in the state but one is near my house!!!
You guys are killing me with the doughnut talk...the other day in a meeting I thought someone said doughnuts so I asked where they were...that’s not what she said and there were no doughnuts! Of course everyone laughed at the pregnant lady thinking of food, especially doughnuts
We have a local bakery that makes a fruity pebbles doughnut and those are my favorite with a close second being the apple cider cider mill doughnuts. I don’t love the filled doughnuts...but if that’s all that’s available I usually won’t pass them up!
laughing so hard right now because i sign on to see almost 70 new replies on this thread and think "uh oh, we finally found something that brought out the drama" but really it's all about peanut butter and doughnuts! Have I mentioned how much I love all of you?
Also, once our next clients are in their sessions I am leaving for a doughnut run. I seriously almost stopped on my way in and then decided I was not really in the mood for one. After reading this I may buy three.
I am from Massachusetts originally so I was used to a Dunkin Donuts on every block. I've been living in southern California for 12 years now and saw one here for the first time! It's very exciting. I always hit up the dunkies first thing in Logan when I get off the plane!
Boston cream munchkins? I am crying a little inside as I want to find them yet I know I shouldn't touch them at all! (I am monitoring my blood sugar for GD - Plus I would eat them all and get more each day)
I love that as pregnant women further along our UO has switched to food!
I didn’t care for donuts until I was pregnant with Z. Even now, I have to be in the mood. I’m not a big texture person, but can’t drink OJ even without pulp because it’s too thick. And I hated crunchy PB as a kid but love it now. PB&J for life!
All this donut talk makes me depressed lol. I haven't had a good donut in like 12 years, because no one makes a gluten free donut that isn't a cake-type donut, and here comes my UO ...cake donuts taste like ass, and GF ones taste even worse. All pregnancy I've seen donuts and just want a delicious soft flaky one, and they don't exist. wahhhhhh
Re: UO 7/26
Nutella is nasty. So is orange juice with pulp. Ew ew ew.

I LOVE jelly donuts. Mostly jelly sticks, because with the regular donut the jelly can be overpowering.

Grocery store donut holes, but I’ll take it for now!
