Thanks for creating this thread! We actually just got our results from the NIPT yesterday and everything came back normal and we found out we are having another girl!!! We are so excited!!! They will be almost the same age apart as me and my little sister and we have always been very close so I’m excited for my little girls to have that too! Now to just narrow down names....
Yayy @allthingso, congrats on everything looking good for the little girl!!
I have my NT scan and blood draw in two weeks! I’m a little nervous, but mostly excited about seeing baby again. I wish I could get NIPT, but it’s just too pricey when not covered by insurance. If I had any reason to believe I’m at a higher risk for any genetic abnormalities I might have, but nah. Would have been neat to know the sex though.

I was supposed to get my NIPT blood draw today, but my midwife had to push the appt back a week because someone went into labor. I’m super bummed about the delay.
@grebretso thank you and yes that is one perk of being AMA but US are so much better than boring blood tests! I know it’s hard to wait though but the anatomy scan is only getting closer! (That’s how I’m trying to look at it haha)
I am 12 weeks exactly today, and I had the scan this morning. The tech said the baby’s neck looks great. We will get blood test results in about 2 weeks. I also have a very very active baby!!! Kept moving around! It was hilarious to see
I'm having mine drawn today - I don't remember what test they use now at my MW's office - It was Progenity last time. Trying to decide if we're going to find out what LO is now or wait until my AS at 20 weeks (which should be the first week in October). I'm leaning towards finding out now so we can bring DD to the AS so she can see the baby and not have her freak if it's not a girl.
Well, that was some uncool news. After waiting 16 blimmin days to get my test result, I got the "not enough DNA" test error so have to start the whole thing again with a new blood draw tomorrow.
We had the cell free DNA test done and they told us it takes 3 weeks to come back. Well they called on Monday (exactly one week later) with the results....low risk!! And we're having a boy!!
Our RainbowBaby H arrived at 37 weeks on 12/20/16!
Baby E arrived at 37 weeks on 01/31/15!

My NIPT is next Monday at 10w2d. I'm nervous! We'll see the doc 2 weeks after. I'm excited to learn the gender because we plan to announce the pregnancy and the gender while we're on our family Disney trip the first week of September!
We decided fairly late to do the NT but got in today and baby looked great! She said the neck fluid measurement was normal thankfully. Was so fun to watch baby jump around for 15 minutes as s/he refused to cooperate
@megpants209 same here! Baby kept moving! The US tech made fun “wheee” sound effects to add to the experience, I so enjoyed the time to look and take it all in. Glad things are looking good for you!
I got my NIPT drawn Tuesday and I just want to know!! I got the email from natera that they received my 'sample' and the nurse said I should know by Wednesday!
@ohsunnydays I loved it! I’ve had a very hard time feeling connected to/excited about being pregnant but it really did help. Fingers crossed for a good blood work result for everyone!
Got my NTscan today. Tech doesn’t say much at the place I go to which is fine. Baby was in a good position and only wiggled a little bit. Baby is measuring ahead at like 13w5 days instead of 12w5d but whatever! I also asked to take the gender blood test...don’t even know the name is that the NIPT? Lol I got my regular blood draws plus that test. Insurance does not cover it but I figured I could curb my shopping addiction for a month lol
Did mine last wk. The ultrasound came back good n normal but got a call this morning that be due to my age (39) and bloodwork they want to send me for more genetic testing for down syndrome. A bit worried but I've read its still not a high chance of being positive.. We'll see next steps when they call
We opted for the out of pocket NIPT. We we just received our NIPT results, and everything came back normal. And we learned we are having a boy! We had the NT ultrasound on Weds and looked normal (our doctor had us do the NT ultrasound but not the NT blood work since we did the NIPT)
@grebretso we were concerned with the out of pocket fee for the NIPT but my OBGYN practice has a relationship with the lab they use, and they offer a $99 program if requested. It was not something they advertised, but it may be worth asking at doc if they have a discount program with the lab.
@casperthefriendlybeeb, yep! I figure it’s not a big deal to take that test for me since I don’t have any risk factors. If my NT scan comes back worrisome, I’ll probably opt for one of the diagnostic tests. Most likely it won’t come to that though.

We're going on the 7th but they are making us talk to a genetic counselor 1st. Like, we did the testing and everything last time. Not our first rodeo, why do I need someone talking to me for 45 minutes about options and services etc before we even know anything. I worked with special needs kids, my SIL has her master's in it, and our 1yo is having open heart surgery a week after this apt. If anyone can handle any news, its us. We don't need 'the talk' again. 45min of waste my time.
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
NIPT Round Two started yesterday for me - after a couple of tries that didn't work, they shifted to sticking me guided by ultrasound, and after a few of those we finally got enough blood. I have a nice collection of plasters on my arms now Fingers crossed second time lucky.
Fingers crossed @febmum! If it helps, my veins were just rude last pregnancy, my three hour glucose test was supposed to be 4 pokes and turned into 13. Veins are jerks sometimes.
@cmjenkies yes a plaster is what you would call a band aid in the US I guess. Although when we say "getting plastered," in that case we are not referring to band aids...
NIPT done and results back. We are on the last few days of the first trimester and have a strong heartbeat/all clear on the NIPT--so much stress out of the way!
