@madspunk@jrm_14@purplg8r@avrilmai@50wife Thanks for all the comments. We also wonder when we might cut a bit of a break... Though part of the mystery is solved - the dentist cleared a very large and definitely not brand new infection from my tooth today, she said this could definitely explain the Friday and Sunday issues and she was very surprised that I was still feeling overall ok. I go back tomorrow just to check everything ok with the tooth as she was a little worried that there was a risk the infection could go into my blood stream now she “poked around in there” today. Blood test today, another tomorrow to make sure the infection is not spreading. Otherwise we would have to cancel baseline Thursday and she would admit me to hospital... errr no! I am determined the infection will go in the right direction.

@jrm_14 I've only done 2 IUIs, kind of embarrassing when I admit we have only been able to save up for 4-6 IUIs (depending on how broke we want to be). Sounds like things went well today, fx for you for this weekend!
@50Wife My RE seemed confident that she could get me KU w/IUIs so we are still planning to do at least 4, but now beginning to worry. A vote from me for watching or re-watching Law & Order!! Still so excited for you, thanks for the progress update!
@Avrilmai hope the days fly by, you're almost to August.
@lulu1180 I'm impressed that you've told your mom where you're at, I haven't got up the courage yet. I had zero symptoms on Clomid, always made 2 nice follicles. I'm also with you on the slapping my mom. She has said the exact same thing to me in the past, and currently doesn't know we're trying.
@nitnat007 yes, I gave up my magnesium supplements (and almost everything else) when we began TTC b/c I heard that they can help or harm, and I had started having some odd cramping issues that I began to suspect were brought on by the Mg. So now I'm just on prenatals with no other supplements. I'm also with you on the how long it would take, I had no clue and am still shocked--I blame high school sex ed.
@AlohaKumu I still shudder when I think of that biopsy. Hope the results come back soon. Oh, and I must be crazy, I love high-stress shows like Westworld on bedrest but only if they are similarly unrealistic. Ex I can't watch crime shows because it's too much like real life. So fantasy/sci-fi or rom-coms work well.
@KristoKekerooni wow, I am so glad you pushed for the surgeries etc! Hope this knowledge comes with more power over your situation.
@emmasemm yikes, hope you can figure out what you were allergic to. And yes, all the long term side effects for the drugs are really glossed over when you start this process aren't they!
@madspunk I have no idea how you'd keep your mind off the FET, because it's so exciting! I hear you on the planning. The unpredictability gets to me every month.
@purplg8r yes, the jealousy that rises with each failed try is terrifying to me. Hope you get the biopsy results soon.
Thanks for all the love, friends. Sorry, I don’t have nearly the energy to tag and respond to everyone. Lots of pain. LOTS. I only wake up to take pills and pee.
@jrm_14 from what I understood, PGS only tests for the number of chromosomes, so microdeletions and homos aren’t caught? But I’m planning on asking for more detail at my follow up.

@purplg8r I haven't started meds yet. I'm waiting to see if I can schedule it around all these other things happening over the next few months. When do you think you'll get the results of your biopsy?
Just thought I would take the opportunity to add a short note on PGS testing as I know we have some members who are newer to IF treatments and might not have been in on those discussions before.
PGS is not a crystal ball. But it can reduce the chances of transferring an embryo which will not lead to success. Reduce, not eliminate. It can also potentially cause embryos to be discarded which might be successful if transferred.
Why - predominantly because most samples are taken from blastocysts from the traphectoderm (outer layer) which forms the placenta - this may or may mot have the same chromosomal make up as the cells in the inner cell mass (which forms the fetus). However also some chromosomal issues develop later - if it wasn’t present by the test the test can’t detect it. So you could get a “normal” PGS result and it not succeed after transfer as the inner cell mass was not normal. But also many people challenge the “abnormal” and “mosaic” results too and there are a small number of cases where women transferred abnormals and still had a healthy baby, as well as mosaics. Most clinics will not allow the transfer of an abnormal though. Many also not mosaics (mosaic is where not all cells had the same chomosomal make up).
Also some conditions are caused by smaller mutations on a gene or small group of genes level - these are not currently able to be detected with PGS, there you need a probe to do PGD.
Finally not all PGS testing is equal. Some labs still biopsy at 2pn or day 3 embryo stage. Also the depth of analysis and quality of the report even from blastocyst sampling varies between labs. If it looks like a crazy cheap PGS offer, it might (might) be using an older technique. So buyer beware - ask questions so you know you’re using an accurate up to date lab.
If you want to hear a bit more without having to dive through lots of scientific websites I can recommend these two episodes of the Beat Infertility podcast: Bonus 129: Mosaicism 101 Bonus 8: PGS and PGD Testing
Also worth to note this is a constantly developing field of medicine and even the naming of of the testing is developing, so if you’re given a term you’re not familiar with I recommend to ask your embryologist or the lab the samples are sent to and then do your homework on their answer before making a decision.

Got my biopsy results back and they’re normal. Now just waiting to O, so I can wait for AF to show up so I can get the show on the road. I’m getting impatient but then I remind myself that the longer it takes, the farther into school we’ll be (which is better for taking days off)
@rallykat14 I have used crinone and prometrium. Crinone actually oozes LESS, assuming you use it & lay for a while, or use it at bedtime. However, it gets a bit congealed & needs cleaned out from time to time.
@rallykat14 I second @jrm_14 that crinone is generally much less messy, hardly oozes at all (unless you go for a jog immediately after or something crazy like that...). I also second doing a daily clear out of the old build up before you shoot up the new stuff each morning. That way you know you should get max absorbance of the new stuff each day. I found it the easiest and most convenient to use so far.
One word of warning, reactions are rare, but if you react you will know it - if your vagina feels like it’s on fire from within go get an alternative straight away. And get it cleaned out by the nurse. Hopeful_mom on the low AMH thread had a reaction but thought it was normal and only after a few weeks changed and by that time her vagina was a raging inferno and has still not fully forgiven her!

Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained, prognosis of endometriosis
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Just had my HSG today. Wasn't too bad. I did take advil before and I don't remember who suggested to keep moving my toes as distractions, but thank you! That was great advise. It was cool to see. My tubes are open, but my ovaries are quite high and she thinks that is because of scar tissue from endometriosis.
How are things going?: Planning on starting IUI next cycle with clomid. I asked a lot of questions about why clomid if I am already ovulating. She said to increase the chances of success. I assumed 50mg and she said 100mg. Then also progesterone for luteal phase, which just reading about from you ladies has me a bit grossed out. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your advise about the HSG! You are an amazing bunch of women!
Any questions? not right now.
GTKY: What are your plans for this weekend? Maybe go swimming, maybe just veg out and binge watch Doctor Who. We'll see what happens.
Edited: cut a sentence out for editing and forgot to put it back.
@lulu1180 Thanks. Glad your mom has been supportive through this process. It is important to have people in your corner. @AlohaKumu FX for good news this week from the biopsy. @KristoKekerooni So glad that you were not going to take no for an answer on that one and had the surgery done. Take care of yourself and rest up. @jrm_14 They have not mentioned endometriosis at all, just the adenomyosis. Not even sure if they would recommend surgery for removal since it is not a chronic case. Or if it is just one more obstacle that we have to overcome? We will have to wait until September to meet with the RE again. Keep us updated on your trigger. Sending all the positive vibes your way. @emmasemm That sounds just awful! I am really glad that they have figured out what the cause was and really hope that that is the end of that horrific story for you. You seriously need to be cut a break here! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Really appreciate that info. @madspunk Sorry you are in limbo. But glad you are hanging out with us. @purplg8r Hope that you get those results soon and that the news is good. @50Wife Yay! Everything crossed for you. @sheepshepherdess I had started taking the magnesium to help me sleep and was fine for a few months on it and then my stomach reacted badly. Very badly! So cut it all out. Will add the vit b, c, d and e back in though. @thrgirlwhowaited Sounds like your RE is confident about the clomid. Great news about your HSG. So glad to hear that it wasn't bad. I was a little worried after doing the sono and being told that it was the better of the two and I still have to do the HSG too.
@nitnat007 it was uncomfortable and cramp like pains. There was one point where it was getting a little intense and my RE said, "we're just waiting for that right ovary to spill a little" and I looked at the screen like "come on!" then I finally saw it spill and that was a huge relief. But focusing on moving my toes was helpful for sure. The upside was that it really didn't take that long once she started pushing in the dye.
@Avrilmai yay for ordering meds. That part always sucks so much of my energy.
@lulu1180 and @50Wife my mom is the same. Telling me to not lose hope is like a jab at this point I'd like help finding hope because it was lost a long time ago.
@AlohaKumu I can't imagine going through that last week. I'm having nightmares!!!
Two of the three follicles end up maturing & are ready to trigger! The other one grew, but not very much. Trigger in the middle of the night tonight, then IUI#4 Saturday morning.
AFM Baseline this morning and my ovaries were soooo quiet. There are maybe a few super tiny 1mm follies on both sides. Yep that small! And my FSH was 2.6 and E2 was under 10. So I’m definitely still well suppressed- just hope not too much again. And... because my labs were soooo low I get to try a Microdose Lupron cycle!!!!!!!!! We will only do stims every other day this time too to see if we can avoid over cooking my eggs. First monitoring Monday...

@lulu1180 Since you mentioned them last week...I just spent too much time watching police lip sync videos on FB. Check out Seattle PD. I think they win!
@Avrilmai I took a picture of all of my meds when they came in and sent it to our parents. My MIL was like oh wow - that's not all for you is it? How long will that last? A few months?? Ummm all mine lady, and about 10 days lol
I had cramping yesterday, and when I went in to do the u/s today explained to my RE that I thought I had O'ed yesterday, on Day 11. When she saw the scan she agreed that it looked like I may have already O'ed, probably this morning! So we quickly thawed the sample and did the IUI at the same appointment. And now I'm about to trigger the second follicle. Kind of wacky. My RE is completely stumped that my cycles are 28 days but my ovulation is totally irregular within that date, even on the meds. And that femara is changing my ovulation so much more drastically than the clomid. I tried to explain to her that I was just as confused as she is lol. The wait is on.
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

@50wife congrats!!! Finally PUPO and by gosh your embie had better be super sticky!
@jrm_14 3 is a great number! Perfect in fact when they are all the same size!
@purplg8r hope all good with the biopsy results!

Thanks for all the comments.

@jrm_14 from what I understood, PGS only tests for the number of chromosomes, so microdeletions and homos aren’t caught? But I’m planning on asking for more detail at my follow up.
Diagnoses: RPL, Endometriosis, MFI (count, morph, DNI, DNAS, multiple bilateral subclinical varicoceles), low progesterone

@purplg8r I haven't started meds yet. I'm waiting to see if I can schedule it around all these other things happening over the next few months. When do you think you'll get the results of your biopsy?
@emmasemm FX that everything goes well tomorrow!
If you want to hear a bit more without having to dive through lots of scientific websites I can recommend these two episodes of the Beat Infertility podcast:
Bonus 129: Mosaicism 101
Bonus 8: PGS and PGD Testing
Also worth to note this is a constantly developing field of medicine and even the naming of of the testing is developing, so if you’re given a term you’re not familiar with I recommend to ask your embryologist or the lab the samples are sent to and then do your homework on their answer before making a decision.

@lulu1180 and @50Wife my mom is the same. Telling me to not lose hope is like a jab at this point I'd like help finding hope because it was lost a long time ago.
@AlohaKumu I can't imagine going through that last week. I'm having nightmares!!!
@KristoKekerooni how are you feeling?

Baseline this morning and my ovaries were soooo quiet.
