@becks_726 Ha, yeah cutting down initially was hard! No withdrawal symptoms so far today though, so I think I’m good.

@kayjay44 Oooh that sounds delicious. How about ordering today AND Friday? Treat yo self!
I'm going to place an order for PU since I drive by it on the way home...

  • Oh FFS you guys. Just had to lock my toddler in his high chair with a bag of goldfish and sprint to the bathroom again. Still actual liquid coming out my butt. Forcing husband to pick up those preparation h wipes on the way home @kayjay44

Got my test results back for my blood draws - Finally qualify for clinical hypothyroidism and I'm being put on medication. They put me on medication with 2.0, then no one would prescribe them to me after he was born because "my levels weren't high enough" and my weight skyrocketed.... Hopefully someone will take me seriously after 3.0 is here. Every woman in my family has hypothyroidism and I've had every symptom for basically the last 10 years.

  • @kayjay44 god that sounds miserable. I've been dealing with hypothyroidism for years. It's such a pain to make sure my levels are right, especially because different doctors rely on different standards for where your levels are supposed to be... and then each of them act like their own standard is the one and only gold standard, and as if your symptoms are irrelevant. I've had better luck going to actual endocrinologists and getting them to keep track of my thyroid levels, whereas OBs and general practioners have repeatedly fucked up my dose.

Thanks for providing your experience - I'm definitely asking for an endocrinologist referral after this baby comes for sure - they had issues with my meds/levels last pregnancy, so if that happens again, I'll be asking for a referral sooner!

@conchispita I’m struggling with the same thing. Yesterday I didn’t leave the house all day. Today I’m struggling not to do the same thing again. I’m honestly not sure how much of my depression is hormonal, and how much of it comes from me feeling like a worthless lump due to feeling too sick to get much done lately. But either way, it’s certainly caused by this pregnancy. Hang in there. You’re not alone.
Oh gosh I could have written this  <3

Woke up today and my boobs aren’t as sore anymore. They’ve been at the same level of soreness for a few weeks, so now I’m worried. They’re still sore, but a lot less so. Ugh I want my US now.

thanks ladies, I’ve been doing good at managing my emotions for the past couple years I forgot what this feels like. I’ve been home alone this week, hoping having my people back will help my mood.
I struggled with PPD and anxiety after DS.  I’ve been on Prozac for about a year and it has helped tremendously but I’m off it right now during first tri.  Doctors said pretty safe but after my miscarriage in March I just would rather go cold turkey.  It’s been hard...my emotions/anxiety/hormones are really up and down but I keep on truckin.  It’s so hard but you’ve got support here too

Well I’m definitely not worried my symptoms are fading anymore. Just puked at work and I feel like I’ll have to go again soon. This really sucks but at least I’m calmer mentally!
I feel you on this. It's a fine line between being glad you're puking because it's a good sign and wishing you weren't puking.

I'm debating going to puke myself...

ETA: Yep, my lunch came up.

  • Anyone ever have their allergies go insane when pregnant? This didn't happen to me last time. I'm usually able to keep them under control with Zyrtec,, but it no longer works. Today I have the worst allergies I've ever had, to the point when I'm wheezing, can barely breathe, and threw up from post nasal drip. I also have the constant urge to sneeze, but it never comes  out so I just look like an asshole with watery eyes and an open mouth. Benadryl helped for a little while but also quit. Dr. said "try Flonase." Not gonna do the job.

Steam maybe?  Get a little peppermint oil too it really helps while in a steam bath.  I get a lot of colds/sinusitis when PG

i also swear by this recipe for cold fighting chicken soup https://soupaddict.com/2015/01/couscous-chicken-soup/

ill use a rotisserie chicken from the store or if I’m feeling particularly energetic I’ll make chicken in my insta pot.  This soup seriously works wonders!  Turmeric, lemongrass, ginger etc

I have to use flonase and claritin while pregnant during allergy season and use a neti pot twice a day all winter to prevent sinus infections.

  • I’m an effing psychotherapist and have never heard of prenatal depression until now (in my defense my specialty is young kids). But holy hell this has hit me hard over the past few days and left me wondering what the f is wrong with me.

I don’t know what part is hormonal, what’s stress from having 2 pets with cancer and chemo and what’s more but I am a hot mess to say the least. I’m constantly in tears and feeling so overwhelmed and stressed out I’m not even feeling excited to be pregnant which, of course, makes me feel guilty and even shittier. I’m really hoping it gets better once my husband is back but I don’t even feel optimistic about that.
  • Hugs, @megpants209! That’s a hell of a lot on your plate at once.

  • @megpants209 you are totally not alone ❤️
  • @megpants209 that is a lot of stressful stuff you are dealing with on your own! And stress can suck the fun out of anything so don’t be hard on yourself. I hope things calm down soon <3
  • I am so freaking tired i was struggling to stay awake in the play place room at McDonalds while my 3yo played.
  • @megpants209 there is definitely nothing wrong with you, you have a lot to deal with on top of all the changes going on in your body. We are all (well, most of us) hot messes right now  <3
  • @megpants209 - I’ve mentioned before my brother died a month before I got KU with my first - I had ptsd which transitioned into bad prenatal depression. You’re absolutely not alone and you don’t have to go through it alone. Make sure you bring it up with your provider as well and see what resources they offer (some offer great therapy programs on top of meds).

I don't have allergies per se, but may as well after getting pregnant. The post nasal drip/nausea combination is super fun! I'm constantly hocking up lugeys and waking up with a sore throat. My head is so stuffy and the sinus pressure kills me daily. I feel so glamorous.
  • I just told DH I can't believe it's only week 8. I don't know how I'm gonna survive.
  • So sick of this spotting making me paranoid all the bloody time.
  • @notthecheat - same boat. Although, I’m usually ok during second tri.... usually.

Thank you, @kayjay44. I was reading that some of the intensity might wear off after the first tri so hopefully that is the case as well. I’m working on putting into practice some of the coping skills I’ve used with clients in the past but it definitely is not easy. At all.

I didn’t know about your brother and oh my gosh, I don’t know how you did it. You seriously are superwoman.  :|

We’re super lucky we have amazing PN/PP mental health resources in Seattle - like pioneering resources dedicated to PN/PP mental health. I’m not sure I could survive this otherwise honestly. This shit is hard.

  • Still nothing. If i hadn’t seen this baby wiggling last week I wouldn’t think I was even pregnant. This pregnancy is so so different from my two girls.
  • My symptoms have been waning the last couple of days, and today I don't really feel nauseated at all. My boobs are only slightly sore, too. And I keep getting little cramps, almost a slight pinching sensation, all over my pelvic area and lower abdomen. I'm so anxious. I hate PGAL brain: I can't enjoy the days when I feel good, because I worry something's wrong.
Anyone else feel slightly better? I just hit nine weeks today.
  • Nausea all day every day. Puked for the first time yesterday, learned to eat crackers the first moment I open my eyes. Bloated and clothes don't fit anymore. Someone at work noticed my 'bump' and asked if I was pregnant. At first I was offended, then I realized, yeah I am. Was hoping it was twins but no its just easymac every time the nausea hits. Sleepy all day, tempted to fall asleep at work. Has anyone done that? How does it go?

I've fallen asleep at work. I've also fallen asleep peeing on the toilet. Welcome to parenthood.

  • Being hungry makes me sick, eating to satisfy hunger makes me sick. General whining about taking care of a toddler while feeling sick and exhausted. I really hope DH can come home at a reasonable time this evening.

  • @hannahbananas11 symptoms come and go. My nausea let up a lot around 9 weeks (I’m currently 11 weeks) same with DD. It then came back around 10 ish weeks but has calmed down to a manageable level.

@hannahbananas11 I have issues with feeling good and thinking something is wrong too, so you’re not alone ! I have only had a few days of morning sickness and thats about it. It’s been a mental struggle ! Hang in there girl.
  • Thanks @allthingsgo and @babystrong2719! It's nice knowing that I'm not alone!
