Monday BF (7/2)

Somewhere we missed Sunday Funday; I hope everyone’s weekend was just busy and not crappy.  (Mine was busy.)

However the week started off a doozy...

So, I get home (to my parents last night) after having dinner with a college friend, to learn that my dog had had diarrhea on their living room carpet.  Great.

We go to bed, but he gets me up at 2:30am and throws up on the bedroom carpet.  Thankfully we make it outside before he has diarrhea again.

Go back to bed; but then up again at 5:30 when he throws up on my blankets.  We go outside and he throws up two more times on the driveway.

It is now 6:24am; I’m on vacation and doing laundry.

ETA: Yes, I’m going to call my vet when they open, but my dog has an extensive history of stress-related GI issues, and he doesn’t particularly like fireworks.
  • Ugh @knottieamusements that sounds terrible. Hope dog is ok and then hope you can get some rest!
  • Oh no. Pet sickness is the worst. You can do so little to help them or contain the mess. I hope he feels better.
  • @kiwi2628 and @knottieamusements I am so so so sorry for both of you. Those are both awful!!! I'm just mad that it's already Monday. But then I read what y'all have going on and I'll take Monday. Sorry, y'all have to deal with that!

@kiwi2628 At least it's a billion degrees out?
  • Slightly frustrated with my OBs office but its probably mostly hormones. It seems every appointment I have my Dr is pulled to go to a delivery right when I get there. When I did see my Dr he said he would do appointments every 2 weeks from now on and that he would do cervical checks (on u/s) every 2 weeks as well. Which would make me feel so much better since I went into random labor at 33 weeks with my singleton and it had to be stopped. I luckily went on to have her at 36 weeks exactly. With twins I am more concerned I could go into random labor again but sooner. Especially since I have a very physically demanding job. Anyways long story short they didn't want to check me and they scheduled my next appointment for 5 weeks and I am just hoping nothing happens in the meantime. I am seeing a different OB thanks to insurance changes and it just feels like hes way too busy and they don't really care about my concerns.
  • Mother fucking urinary tract infection.

@ninji15 is there a different OB at that practice you could see? That is super frustrating especially with your history and concerns.. keep voicing your concerns to them next time you see them and push for appointments you want if you really believe they're necessary.  I know they're the doctors but you know your body better than they do and will know if something dreamt feel right. Fx for you!
  • So I posted a dresser on our local buy nothing yesterday, waited 6 hours, then picked a random person. Now someone else is posting complaining that I gave it away too fast, and she wanted it, too. I’m sorry you didn’t get a 1 in 9 chance for free stuff? Geez, lady. There’s no guarantee you would’ve gotten picked, anyway.

Now others are replying to her post (granted mostly to call her out) and I’m getting the notifications. At this point I’m just pissed that she’s trying to make me feel guilty about giving something away. Haven’t replied yet, but so tempted...

@halfanewt not your problem. I'd completely ignore it honestly, there's no need to play into her games to make you feel bad. If she wanted it she should've found your post sooner and there's no rules saying how long you have to wait before giving away YOUR OWN STUFF!!
If you do reply to her tell her she wouldn't have been picked either way  you chose who you chose for a reason.
  • @halfanewt I wouldn't reply, sounds like others have got your back anyway! Can't control the crazies :)
  • Update! Now we wont have hot water until Thursday.

    Fuck you eversource.
  • @kiwi2628 that’s brutal! Do you have a gym membership or something you can use in the meantime?
  • After my partial toenail removals on both sides of both big toes, I’ve been doing everything I was supposed to - soaking in warm water with epsom salt/adding neosporin/keeping bandaged twice a day for 14 days, plus wearing open toed shoes, no gym, elevating the feet, and I haven’t been allowed to go in the pool.

At my follow up today, one side of one toe is still infected so my doctor said I have to keep soaking that toe every day for another week.

I straight up looked at the doctor and sharply said, “So what about the pool? Because it’s July and 95 degrees.” Whoops. It just came out. It was so bitchy lol. Luckily, she just laughed and said it was fine and to just watch for any increasing redness or pus. But I am tired of the pain and ready for them to be healed.

  • @halfanewt unfortunately not! My H goes to the gym near his work (in NYC) and I have a peloton at our house so cold showers it is!
  • So stabby. H brought dinner in from the grill...he’s normally great but he complete charred the asparagus (we have to toss it) and the burgers were still raw. I’m not a pleasant person to be around right now.
  • Update:  Talked to my vet and have a game plan. I found the food we use for my dog when his GI issues act up at PetSmart.  My vet said they could call and authorize the purchase (dude- it’s dog food?).  Also going to pick up the acid reducer stuff at Walgreens.

In the meantime, he’s making long faces at me because I can’t feed him until tonight.   I’m a mean momma.
We have to have a prescription from our vet for my dog's food. I get it off Chewy and I had to put in our vet info so they could verify it.
  • I love chewy simply for the autoship. When you need it same day, it's best to find it in store.

It's nearly impossible to find the large bag of Loki's food, and he goes through a large bag a month so it's just easier with chewy.
  • +1 for chewy autoship.

@hellopartyof5 that sounds absolutely awful. I might be a bad person but I definetly chuckled while reading your update, though...
  • My aunt and uncle hosted a birthday party today (Canada Day stat) for my grandma, who will be 91 on Thursday. It was probably 25 people who all wanted to let me know how sorry they are about Baby B, and ask how A is doing. Which is nice of them, but I t was just a lot to deal with. Especially since I worked a night last night and got about 3.5 hours of sleep today (and am working again tonight). Now I’m just tired and emotionally done.

I’m sorry @jennybean80 that sounds like a rough day :( hope some eventual sleep and you time helps you recharge for a new day after this shift.
  • @jennybean80. - That sounds rough.  Hope you get some rest and recuperation time soon.

@hellopartyof5 I've been chaffing horribly the last few days of walking around in 90° heat.. I normally don't but I've been sleeping naked to just air out..

@jennybean80 I'm sorry you had to answer the same question a bunch of times.. I hope you can get some rest over the next few days and into the weekend! Sending Good vibes
  • @hellopartyof5 That sounds awful! My thigh rub is awful right now if I wear shorts and it’s so fucking hot my underwear gets completely soaked with sweat.
  • @mamabearcj I feel like its almost too late to switch Drs now, I suppose if something feels really off I will just have to call in for an appointment instead. I just want to make sure I am not over doing things at work and putting myself or the babies at risk and I can't not do my job or go on lighter duty without a Drs note. So I guess we will see. Yesterday was horrible it was 100 degrees out which no big deal I guess but the building I was working in doesn't have A/C. I have never gotten so sweaty before in my life haha! I hope my supervisor has common sense to ease up on me later. I plan to make sure I get seen bi-weekly by my Dr next time for sure.
  • @SawyerRichardson they didn't give you a hard time? I will have to see whats in my network and who people seem to like. The one I am going to everyone loves but I never seem him and his staff and NP are frustrating.

@sammierose464 I have to do the prescription thang for a problem cat and Chewy is the best!
  • @jennybean80 sorry you had to go through all of that. That sounds rough. Hope you can get some rest and relaxation soon!
  • @hellopartyof5 that sounds painful. I admit I'm in the crazy sweating club... I feel like I change my underwear a couple times a week because of sweat. It's so uncomfortable.
