Baby Shower Troubles

I just found out the father of my child has been cheating.. We were just making plans for a baby shower. Now, I don’t know if I still want to continue with the plans we had due to this. Any suggestions?

    Also, you should not be the ones planning a shower for yourselves.  If someone offers, that's fine, but you shouldn't really be making plans for one on your own.

    If someone is throwing your shower (the way it's supposed to be) for your friends and family then I would go through with it. They are welcoming you into motherhood, which wont change at this time.
    If someone is throwing it from his side - tell them sorry, but I cant have the shower due to unforeseen conditions.   
    If you are planning your own shower (not appropriate) the cancel it.
    Get things figured out in your relationship.

    First of all, I am sorry you are going through with that.  My prayers are with you, no matter how it turns out between you and your partner.

    Secondly,  the shower isn't really about you guys as a couple - it's about the new baby.  If you really don't want to do it because the father can't/won't be there, then don't.  However, depending on how much this is affecting you, it may be good to have the shower (no matter who's planning it!) as something positive to look forward to.  Best of luck.

    After Post Edit: Just realized this was posted back in 2018... oops.  Anyway, my opinion still stands for anybody dealing with this in 2019 and beyond.
