    @brittaniahutto I personally would never do that, and I am a shower non-traditionalist.  My philosophy is that I would never request/expect gifts from people who I wouldn't invite to my home for a baby shower (so, family and very close friends), and if anyone else wants to get you something, they'll ask you about it.  I didn't even put our wedding registry in our invitations. It only went in the shower invite, which was maybe 20-25 people. If other people asked, our parents had the info to give out.  We will probably do the same with this one, just on the shower invitations. Posting a registry online for all of your acquaintances seems like you are inviting anyone and everyone to get you a gift, which,  to be honest, seems really tacky. I would definitely full-body cringe if I saw someone do that.

  • @brittaniahutto I had a Facebook friend do this a week or two ago and my gut reaction is that it's tacky.  This is not a person I am close to, just Facebook friends with from a job a long time ago, and it felt weird to be able to look at her registry (which I totally did) even though I have no intention of buying her anything.  It's just not something I would consider sharing with my 500+ Facebook friends.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • Fun random of the day:  5 minutes after eating my delicious, multicultural, home cooked dinner, I vomited as soon as I sat down to relax. I have not had morning sickness or nausea really at all.  This is my third random vomit session this pregnancy.  All you women who experience this on the regular: I have so much respect and admiration for you!

    My poor SO is so squeamish he ran out of the room.  He's in for a fun surprise during delivery!
  • @rosebud332 pretty much the same thing over here.  My mom watches DD three days a week and during her nap she seems to be able to do all the little things I can’t get done on my list.  And she is chomping at the bit to fix my house current house to get it listed.  Our realtor wants the house empty to show.  We have oversized comfy furniture in a small house. Ugh
  • Bummer about the ac woes some of you have to deal with. I’ve been MIA because my niece is up here. I don’t know how anyone with kids finds time to read through tb and reply. Kudos to all you stm+!
    I’ve been so tired. I’m trying to cram pack days full of fun. In 3 days we’ve gone to the zoo, farmers market, two libraries, a water fountain park, a playground, and a science play museum.
    Part of keeping the kid out/occupied is so my poor cat can catch a break. My cat is afraid of kids. My niece is being very good and hasn’t tried to touch her or play with her and is giving the cat lots of space. Sometimes the cat gets close enough to check out what we are doing. My cat is still sleeping on the bed at night and eating, so I think she is ok.
    @echo-charlietango her she is!

    the kid is sleeping, and my cat is getting ready for some snuggle time on my lap. She hikes her hind legs up my chest so she can knead straight down on my lap.

  • @rosebud332 and @LLynde5 Same boat over here. We have been in the process of house hunting/ selling since February, and are taking it SLOWWWW.  I appreciate that I don't need to stress and rush, but at this point I just want to be done and living in the new house!  Running back and forth between 2 houses is taking it's toll.  I told SO I need to be living in the new house full time by September because I don't want to be moving while I'm ginormous. We can't even show the old house until we are moved out because 3 dogs.  Our realtor basically wants it unoccupied so he can show it at any time without worrying.  My parents aren't nearby enough to help, otherwise I'm sure the house would be ready to go already! Lol

    Good luck to you ladies and I hope the selling/ buying/ packing/ moving process goes smoothly and quickly for you.
  • @scaredunprepared I agree with your realtor - move out first so it can be shown at anytime (if you can)!
    Long story in the spoiler!
    When we sold a house in Arkansas, we couldn't move out because we couldn't move to Kansas that early. So potential buyers had to schedule blocks with our realtor, and I had to have the house dog-free and show-ready at the drop of a hat. Truly I could deny any showing, but we needed to sell! It was a huge PITA to drop what I was doing, clean, and find a yard to take my dogs. Luckily we had several friends in the neighborhood and I would occupy their yards during the appointments. One time the folks missed their appointment and came to see the house when I was already back. They still saw the house, but the dogs were in the yard and and I was just pissed off and tried to be a fly on the wall in the living room (I hate being on hand, because I don't want to influence the buyers, but each time I am there we get a contract the same day - damn).

    When I was house hunting in Alabama one of our criteria was that the house was move-in-ready, so I only looked at houses that were unoccupied because our schedule was fixed and the dogs make us very inflexible. Then again, DH and I are not typical buyers. We don't buy "forever homes" we buy investment properties that we then occupy for 12 months. We're fast and unemotional, realtors love us!

  • @echo-charlietango thanks for your advice and experiences!  I agree, but living in 2 places at once is a hassle, never mind the 2 mortgages!  And we can't fully move in to the new place with the dogs until the fence is installed.... which won't be for 4-5 weeks!!!  It just better be totally done by September so i can focus on Christmas shopping, wrapping, and decorating so I don't have to do that while I'm 9 months pregnant.

    We look for perfection in a home. But when we know, we just KNOW.  Realtors probably hate us! Lol
