@morgantu The snoogle is the only way I can sleep on my side. It is a lifesaver!
  • Options
@katy0990 I’m sorry you’re feeling so much anxiety about the decisions you have to make. Do you think it would help if you just do one thing at a time, like lifting for a week or two, then off of progesterone, then acne medication? Maybe it would help you have less anxiety than doing it all at once.

@morgantu I think if you have hip pain the snoogle should help. It’s worth the investment to be able to sleep! I’m a back sleeper and never fully switched to sleeping on my side last time, but the snoogle still helped because I could arrange it so I was kind of sitting up while sleeping towards the end.

@rosebud332 That may help. I am thinking I may stop taking the progesterone on Friday, since I will be 13 w 4 days, so 2nd tri.

@echo-charlietango dang, 20-30k? no thanks. Can you get through the year (right?) or so that you're going to be there?

@artemis618 I don’t have the problem with DH trying to take it. He actually hates how much space it takes up, and if it drips over to his side of the bed he makes sure to move it on over. I wrap my legs around mine and use my regular pillow so I have a hard time getting out of it, even to go to the bathroom. That may help.

@echo-charlietango I’m sorry about all the house expenses. Home ownership can be so frustrating!

@fruitcove7 Oh man, I am jealous of your energy boost. I still feel like I need daily naps!

@rosebud332 Can you share your meatball recipe? I have only made them from scratch once, and it was a bust (thanks, Pinterest).

@katy0990 Ohhh definitely go see a chiropractor. I know there are a lot of mixed opinions on them, but mine has been an absolute life saver!

@morgantu It’s hard to say at this point if I will have the option of going back to 5 days. We are going to be hiring two new people in the next few months, and since we are creating brand positions for them, they will be somewhat designed to relieve me of some of my responsibilities. For example, I won’t be in on Friday’s anymore, and those are usually pretty heavy marketing days for me (preparing for weekend open-houses, creating/printing flyers, etc.). So whoever we bring on will need to do that, since I won’t be around. So me coming back would take away part of their job :/ Enjoy your vacation, and the festival!

@echo-charlietango Did you buy the new house? If so, none of that came up on an inspection?! Yikes!! Sorry you're dealing with that.

@katy0990 Sort of?  I’ve been trying the variation where the Snoogle sort of spoons me, so I kind of lay “inside” of it, with the tail end between my knees/legs coming from the back (if that makes any sense).  So generally when I try to roll back into it it keeps me at least partly on my side, but the last couple of mornings I’ve just woken up on my back surrounded by it.  Will have to keep experimenting.

@artemis618 So, like I said I actually ended up using it to sleep sitting up on my back, so no advice as to sleeping with it on your side. The reason I can’t sleep on my side all night is actually because i have bad knees and it hurts them, and the snoogle made that worse somehow. If you get desperate like me and have to sleep on your back eventually, on the side of the packaging it shows different ways to curl it up and there was one that kind of looked like a donut, and that’s how I slept with a pillow on top.

@Hollyyyyy I will share, but it’s my moms recipe and there are no measurements involved, lol. I just eyeball it but I will try to explain how I do it.

—1&1/2 lb-ish of meatloaf mix (ground beef, pork, and veal in one package). If that’s not a thing outside of my general area or you don’t like to use veal just ground beef will work but it might not come out as moist.
    —1 egg
    —Garlic powder
—grated Parmesan cheese (like the not fresh stuff in the plastic container at the store)
    —salt&pepper
    —Dried parsley
    —4 slices of white bread

Completely wet the bread in water and wring it out and put it in a bowl with the meat along with the egg. Put a good amount of cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and parsley, basically covering the top of your meat mixture. Mix everything together with your hands so the bread and everything is mixed well together. Brown the meatballs in vegetable oil. Put the meatballs in your sauce for about an hour to finish cooking.

@echo-charlietango sorry to hear about all of those expensive repairs. Ugh. Maybe you can renovate later?

@katy0990 +1 for seeing a chiropractor. I love my chiropractor. Unfortunately she’s been on maternity leave for months and I don’t trust anyone but her.

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
13 weeks 6 days— Can it be true that I’m in the second tri?

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Still nauseous (maybe a little less) and tired. I haven’t been sleeping well in the last few days. Its strange, that was a symptom early on but went away so definitely not happy that its back… I’ve also been having cramps which are really messing with my head.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I was feeling ok. We got good NIPS results early this week. But the cramping has me anxious. I went ahead and ordered a doppler. DH wants to start telling people and I just can’t.

    4. Any appointment updates?
    Nothing for a couple weeks.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
I’ve been so cranky. This is my last week of work before being off for a month so trying to get a lot done and feeling crappy and anxious. I’m annoyed with DH. I think I need to tell my boss before being out for a month. We’re renovating our bathroom and just found out that the tile we loved isn’t available. My little sister's bachelorette is this weekend and I really don't want to go...how do you hide not drinking at a bachelorette? I have to go but I'm dreading it. All in all I just want to snap myself out of this funk but can't seem to do it

    6. GTKY: If you were a contestant on masterchef, what would you cook as your "signature dish"?
I like to make my mom’s chicken enchiladas, or an approximation/variation of my mom's enchiladas.

  • Options
@fernsy I am sorry that you are struggling. Can you offer to be the DD this weekend? Or say you aren’t feeling well and don’t want to drink?
  • Options
@fernsy If not the DD thing, can you claim to be on some sort of prescription med that doesn’t mix well with alcohol?  I doubt anyone would want to know specifics, but I’ve learned my lesson with some antibiotics and I hear metrogel does not mix well, as examples.  Hope you feel better soon.
