How far along are you (if you remember...)? 12 weeks-ish. My last ultrasound I measured a week ahead but it was never entered into my chart so I’m going back to what my OB says.
How are your other kids doing this week? We’re still potty training. It seemed like DS regressed because he was having a lot of accidents. I switched him to the big toilet with an instert and I think it’s helping. He tells me that he needs to use the potty a lot more now. Ugh...I hate potty training. Fortunately it will be another 2-3 years before we go through this again.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? I need to pick up a book now that I have more time in the evenings. My evenings were usually spent lesson planning. I also enjoy watching Netflix series like Stranger Things and The Crown. Right now, I’m watching season 5 of The Ranch after DS is in bed. I also play the piano but not as much as I used to.
How far along are you (if you remember...)? 11 Weeks
How are your other kids doing this week? They are so excited. DS (five this week) asked me if he could kiss the baby yesterday. Little low for that so I said later and let it drop. He also asks if the baby is going to die. He knew about our losses last year so he's worried about this baby. It's sweet if not a little heartbreaking. On the other hand my baby is turning FIVE. Hold me.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? I like crafting. Crochet, embroidery, painting, reading, etc. I'm at Joanns WAY too often. But coupons...
How far along are you (if you remember...)? 10 weeks tomorrow
How are your other kids doing this week? I have a little boundary pusher. DS (14 mo) is doing things like staring right at me while he throws his dinner on the ground. It drives me nuts. He's also really freaking adorable, though. We've been playing "monster" lately, where we'll give each other big monster kisses. He was also super fun at the beach, and he loved the sand and water.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? I love hiking, but I'm too sick and tired to do it right now. My dream has always been to hike the whole AT. I also like to rock climb, canoe, camp, and read. All of those activities except for reading have been put on the back burner since my little guy was born - I really need to get out and camp with him.

Ok. Upside: He’s been pooping on the potty every morning, which is a huge deal since he’s four and we’ve been trying to get the potty thing down since he was 2 1/2.
Downside, he had an epic tantrum at bedtime tonight. Usually bedtime is a breeze so it really sucked.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids?
a lot haha. traveling, hiking, reading, skiing, going to concerts, watching garbage tv like the bachelor franchise.

How are your other kids doing this week? We told DD and she is so pumped. Today I showed her the “what does baby look like app” and she figured out the uterus is connected to the vagina and got all excited and said “your body is so cool!” I died from cuteness

How are your other kids doing this week? They're doing great! This is my third weeks working full time, so I'm struggling. They get to stay home with daddy, but I miss them a lot.

How are your other kids doing this week? She's doing good. Getting her down for sleep or nap has been rough the last week, though, and I hope she goes back to the easy baby to put to bed. She clings to us like a monkey when we try to lay her down and screams bloody murder. She calms down and lays down only if I talk to her through the monitor....but so long as either of us are still in the room, it's game over.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? Reading, working out, ....used to scrapbook, but haven't done that since pregnant with DD.
How are your other kids doing this week? Pretty good... just hoping DD (11 mo) is not biting other kids at daycare! We had a run of that last week and it was rough. We also have two birthday parties this weekend for kids from her BMB so that should be fun but exhausting. Hoping she sleeps well after those. Otherwise same crazy child.
GTKY what is something you like to do that doesn’t involve your kids? This is a sad question lol I used to like yoga and cycling and drinking. And going to concerts. Life isn’t the same at least not with a little baby. I also used to read but Dk where that has gone. And I still love and watch the bachelor too! No shame.
How are your other kids doing this week? My toddler was driving me crazy yesterday. We were just feeling cooped up because it was a rainy day. I'm looking forward to next month when my in-laws are coming to watch her for a few days so DH and I can get away. So needed. I am constantly amazed how much DD says and how she processes the world. They really do grow SO fast.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids Love to read! DH and I have a routine of reading our (separate) kindles each night before bed and it's a nice way to end the day. When DD was first born I thought we'd never be able to do that again but since she usually goes to bed pretty early we have resumed our routine. I also love to go out to eat with DH and try new restaurants. We were more of "foodies" before DD and try to still get out every once and awhile.
On another topic, who is happy they don't have to worry about baby showers this time around? I was lurking on the FTM board this week and they were discussing when to have baby showers. I feel like there was so much drama with my family one so it's nice to not have to worry about that. And not have to research all the baby crap! Yay for STM!
How are your other kids doing this week? Just the usual crazy. The twins are really excited to point at me and say "baby in there" lol. My 3-yr-old keeps insisting there are two babies, but I guess that's all he knows from last time.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? I work part time as a family photographer, so I think that kind of counts as a hobby. I love it! Also reading, watching Friends with dh, and Jazzercise. I used to be pretty crafty (sewing, painting) but not since kids came along.
How far along are you (if you remember...)? 10 weeks today!
How are your other kids doing this week? My little boy is doing well! He’s working on getting his first tooth so he’s been a little fussy off and on because of that. He’s going through a phase where he doesn’t want to eat anything but snacks and throws all of his food. It drives me bonkers!
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? Sew! I have a small online shop where I sell baby clothing and I just finished up a pair of newborn shorts. They’re so adorable and tiny! I’m also currently working on sewing a swimsuit for myself.
How far along are you (if you remember...)? 10 weeks tomorrow
How are your other kids doing this week? Why does every.single.thing. have to be an argument?
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? I like to craft, read, garden, hike, camp. I used to volunteer a lot and would like to get back to that and science outreach at some point. I also haven’t been swimming much since DD was born. I really like to spend time learning new things, particularly how to make stuff, so I tend to acquire new hobbies a lot.
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt I had two showers with my second. One when I went to visit family in another state because "well we didn't get to go to your shower!" Then the company I was working for at the time threw me a surprise shower. So I didn't ask for either shower. I really had almost everything I needed still because my two older kids are only 2 years apart. I got a lot of clothes and diapers. This time I don't have anything and kind of hope someone decides to surprise me with one. I would never ask for one though.
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt, sooo glad I don't have to do another shower. Last time I made a registry with 15 things on it because I was badgered into it. I really don't like the whole process of wedding and baby showers. I get that they're helpful, but it's just too much.

12+3 here. I’ve been horrible at checking in here but we had a busy week last week because I finished up the school year and then on Saturday DD turned 1 and we had a big party! I seriously can’t believe it. She’s so much fun though. We’ve already had such a blast exploring around town and visiting family in my few days off so far. She is super vocal and the things she says crack me up. Yesterday she was mad and yelled at me ‘bye bye, go night night’. She says all of those things independently but it was crazy to hear her string them together. It was almost definitely a fluke, but still.

DD is 4 and is so excited about becoming a big sister. She says good morning and good night to baby everyday, so cute.
DH and I enjoy many things without DD though we don’t go out alone nearly enough! We like checking out new breweries in the area (well not for now lol!), concerts, going out to eat, traveling when we can! Alone I enjoy taking fitness classes and other than that don’t have any hobbies!!!!
I really did not enjoy either of my baby showers so thankful I don’t need to do that again!
How are your other kids doing this week? DD1 (4yrs) is loving summer camp but also refuses to nap there so she gets a little difficult and emotional in the evenings. She is very excited about the new baby and was disappointed to only see one on the US on Monday. DD2 (13mo) is getting into everything! She likes to gather things and head for the trash can so I’ve had to start locking it. We’ve started calling her Baby Jack Jack because she makes the same noise he does when he turns into a gremlin. I love seeing the two of them interact with one another.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? We take our kids a lot of places ball games, concerts, out to eat. So I guess I would say going dancing with MH or anytime that we do get to do something without the kiddos.
How are your other kids doing this week? DD (3yo) is doing well. I was at a conference in FL, so DH was single parenting. DD came down with a bad fever and DH did a great job on his own with her. I'm really glad I have a supportive and fully independent partner.

How are your other kids doing this week? We just told them yesterday that we are expecting. They are all pretty excited!
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? Most of what I do is with my kids, or for my kids, as I’m sure is the case with most of us STM+. I have been trying to make sure that as much as I embrace and love motherhood, I also have some individual things for and about me. I go running both with and without the kids, but honestly, I like solo runs way more. I also love to read. And I like being politically involved; I like to work towards making a difference. One of the biggest things I’m involved in right now, outside my kids, is the medical cannabis ballot initiative in my state.
Finally got on a desktop to be able to participate in the check-in, it's hard to answer these on the mobile app I think.
How far along are you (if you remember...)? 13+5 now I think
How are your other kids doing this week? DS is doing good! He is just starting to throw tantrums (he is 22 months). So that is no alot of fun. He also likes to throw his dinner on the floor when he is done, he has zero patience, I think he gets that from his dad lol. Also I think he is almost ready to start potty training.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids? DH and I liked to go on vacations, even for just a weekend. We went on more weekend trips then I can remember. Now most of our weekends are spent with friends, most of them have kids as well so it's nice they all entertain each other.
DS has been throwing a tantrum for the last 20 minutes since waking up from his nap, including stomping and flopping around. I've tried everything to get him to settle down. DH just got him to stop by putting his shoes on because he knows that means he's going outside to play. I wish he could just use words and tell me what he wants!

So hard! My oldest does this sometimes, and I think sometimes it's because he wakes up hangry. We try "let's take a breath and try to calm our bodies down" and reminding him "I can see you feel upset. What can I do to help?" I hope you find a method that helps you guys!

@julesf817 I read your comment as if you were talking about water showers, and I thought you were talking about not showering while on maternity leave, and I was right there with you, then was going to say, "taking almost daily showers was the only thing that kept me feeling human those first weeks" but then had to go back and read what @UnbreakableKimmySchmidt said in order to understand your comment. I'm so glad I didn't just respond randomly to what I assumed wrongly. hahaha

Anyone else have any cramping or mild stomach pains this time around? I can't tell if it's just from the faster growing/rearranging, or if I should be concerned :-/
@kmvisioli only if I move too fast. I remember the pain more with my first pregnancy though.
When does everyone remember feeling the baby for the first time? I feel like it's so hard to distinguish between gas and baby that I swear I'm feeling baby already.
When does everyone remember feeling the baby for the first time? I feel like it's so hard to distinguish between gas and baby that I swear I'm feeling baby already.
I seriously have had this same thought but there's no way I'm feeling baby at 10/11 weeks, right?! I didn't feel my first until 17ish, but twins way earlier.
My first was about 16 weeks and I can't for the life of me remember when I felt the second for the first time. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow so maybe I'm not totally crazy.
When does everyone remember feeling the baby for the first time? I feel like it's so hard to distinguish between gas and baby that I swear I'm feeling baby already.
It has depended on the baby. My first baby, I first felt move at 11.5 weeks pregnant. It felt like a kernel of popcorn popped in my abdomen. At first I thought, “That couldn’t be the baby; could it?” But then I felt it again a few days later and then stronger and more frequently until I knew it was the baby, and that it had been the baby at 11.5 weeks. He was (and still is) my wild ninja child. He kicked so hard and frequently that you could easily see it from the outside all day long. He did a lot of hard jabbing kicks. My son (now age 10) is a brown belt and is in an intense black belt training program. He swept gold in his division in all 3 areas he competed. I should have known from the beginning!
When I didn’t feel baby #2 move until closer to 16 weeks, I was getting worried, but I guess that’s actually closer to normal. I also felt my 3rd move around 16 weeks.
Bottomline; it is not common, but is totally possible to feel the baby move that early. (Just prepare yourself for an energetic kid! )
@kmvisioli I’ve definitely been having more cramping this time around. I’m chalking it up to summer and dehydration and maybe a bit of my body knowing what it’s doing and moving a bit quicker.
@molosmiles I’ve alreasy had a few ‘huh’ moments in terms of maybe feeling baby. With my first I didn’t 100% know I was feeling her until 19 weeks, but in retrospect knew I was feeling her as far back as 16-17. So this time questioning things at 12-13 seems crazy. But definitely possible in the right circumstances.

@molosmiles, it took me forever to feel him the first time. It wasn't until about 20 weeks. I've had a few pops this time that seem similar, but I'm sure it's just gas at 11 weeks.

That is exactly my son right now! I tell him no and he throws his food anyway. He thinks it’s funny!

I had two showers with my second.

10 weeks today!

GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids?
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt
The app promptly deleted everything EXCEPT the tag. Lol.
I also swim and craft (crochet, knit, and xstitch)

How far along are you (if you remember...)?

@chasingthedog what kind of dog training did you do?

We spent the weekend at MILs so it's going to be a week of reigning his behavior back in. He slept super late this morning I think the weekend wore him out.
GTKY: What is something you like to do ( hobby, leisure activity, whatever) that doesn’t involve your kids?
I lift weights. I love to go zone out in the gym for a couple of hours.

When does everyone remember feeling the baby for the first time? I feel like it's so hard to distinguish between gas and baby that I swear I'm feeling baby already.
ninja child.
