1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 24 weeks- viability!!! He is the size of a package of oreos
2. How are you feeling? I feel really good minus serious leg/foot cramps every single night that wake me up. I am drinking 2 1/2-3 liters a day. I am taking magnesium. WTF?
3. Any appointments this week? 24 week appt on Wednesday
4. Rants/raves/questions? Nope
5. GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?
Ryan Reynolds, although I have seen him before around town and he is very nice, but he also seems hilarious and I would love to get to know him better
1. 25 weeks, baby is the size of a head of cauliflower!
2. I have been feeling great! I was a little nauseous after my glucose test this morning, but feel better now.
3. I had an appointment this morning for my glucose test and to check on baby. I was surprised to learn I’ll be called with results by Friday only if they’re concerning - so no news is good news. Baby’s heartbeat was strong at 155 bpm and hopped up on all that sugar from the glucose test!
4. My ankles swelled up like crazy on my flight out west. I was nervous they would do the same on my flight home yesterday, but thankfully they were completely fine (yay for extra legroom).
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 25 weeks! The size of a prairie dog.
2. How are you feeling?
My hips hurt when I woke up this morning from sleeping in a strange bed; looking forward to getting back to my u-shaped pillow on Wednesday. Also, my teeth are still super sensitive.
3. Any appointments this week?
Nope!
4. Rants/raves/questions?
I can haz baby now?
5. GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 22...coconut or a half dozen bagels
2. How are you feeling? ok
3. Any appointments this week? Today for monthly checkup. My weight skyrocketed from last appt so I’m really worried she’s going to say something. I’ve been working out but eating like crap.
4. Rants/raves/questions? ugh Monday. Worried about appt feedback and still annoyed by the movie Tag. Is it Friday yet? Babymoon on Fri! And basically what @slitzee said.
5. GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Oprah and John Oliver are definetly on my list, so I may steal that, too. Or Serena Williams.
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 23 weeks, apparently a big ass grapefruit
2. How are you feeling?
not terrible! Sciatica and low back pain suck though
3. Any appointments this week?
just got back from the chiropractor, and will have 2 more appointments this week, and then another appointment with my OB Friday supposedly to "talk" about the glucose test. Going to freak out if it's actually the test because DH won't be there to drive be home and keep me calm for the inevitable sugar induced panic attack.
4. Rants/raves/questions?
baby needs to not be so hungry.
5. GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?
@jemmerjams I know everyone has been freaking out because of the glucose screening (myself included), but the drink tasted just like fruit punch and I had no reaction to it at all. Not sure how you tolerate sugar, but try not to worry! Driving afterwards definitely wasn’t any different than usual for me.
@sliztee do you normally have a pretty good sugar tolerance? I definitely do, and am hoping that will help me not feel crappy. Also plan on bringing some almonds for after. I'm SO nervous about failing.
I suppose I do? I guess I’ve never really paid attention before, which probably means I have a decent tolerance for it. I’m not sure what time your screening is, but just do your best not to eat poorly that day. Stick to protein the couple hours leading up to your exam and you should be just fine, @chopchop25!
Thanks @sliztee LOOK LOOK LOOK I FINALLY TAGGED YOU CORRECTLY! Ahaha I can’t believe I’ve tagged you wrong this whole time, and am even more impressed that you’ve still managed to catch all of the posts. I’m a total doof!
Planning on some eggs that morning and that’s it, but I still have a sinking feeling about it. Four weeks until the test still to go, though. Will be 26 weeks at testing time.
@chopchop25 I agree with @sliztee the drink was just like drinking Hawiian Punch. If you tolerate sugar you should be fine. Last time I didn’t have mine until the afternoon and I had eaten tons of cookies that day because I forgot and I still passed.
@sliztee wellllll I normally have a terrible sugar tolerance and hate super sweet things (70% dark chocolate tastes like straight up sugar, plus I have sensitive teeth to sugar). Last time I OD'd on sugar (too many pancakes), about 3 hours later I got super anxious, shaky, and dizzy, and couldn't get out of my car because I was so weak. So I'm mentally preparing for the worst and also hoping I pass because I know that 3 hour test would kick my ass.
I'm curious if there are any signs/symptoms that would give you an idea if you have GD, other than the test.
When I took it at 10w I didn't think it was that bad. I felt off after I drank it, but it wasn't terrible. I did the lemon-lime drink. I have to fast for mine, so I'll do it first thin in the AM and make sure I have food with me for after. I'm more worried about the blood draw after. I'd be screwed with the 3hr because I get faint and usually have to eat something after a blood draw. Doing it 4 times before I can finally eat would be rough.
@sammierose464 I think if your glucose levels were on the higher side normally, that may be a factor?? I could be very wrong though lol. Mine were high normal so I'm curious to see if that's true!
@sammierose464 - it is a small consolation, but you would only have to do two blood draws without being able to eat if you have to do the three hour version.
You drink the glucose drink immediately after the first blood draw (not before- they are getting a baseline).
You can eat as soon as they have taken the last blood draw.
Also- you might mention to the tech that blood draws make you faint, so they can be prepared.
