DD has her dress rehearsal tonight for her dance recital, which is on Sunday. I asked her this morning if she wanted to wear any makeup for it (she's 5.5) and she said nooo! Proud of my girl

Totally random question that I suppose fits in several threads. Anyone seen a place to buy replacement fabric for infant carriers? We are reusing our UPPA baby MESA and I’ve read that you can get fabric/liner replacements but I can’t find them anywhere online. Anyone seen them in passing?
Have you tried UPPAbaby themselves? I know they sell replacement stroller parts, I’d start with them for car seat parts too.

FFTC: I'm a registry stalker and I'm really blown away by what people have been buying off my registry. Like I've said before, we don't have anything crazy expensive on there, but H and I were fully prepared to buy everything on the list and it's dwindling down...
@nlc8424 I keep saying I will be better as my shower gets closer, but I check almost daily! We don’t have too many expensive items but this is our first so there are some higher dollar things. I’m amazed that the bigger things are getting bought up and I’m worried we won’t get any of the smaller items....people we really do need sheets for our crib!

You rock!!! They are only sold through customer service! So I can get my years fabrocs and only gray, black or red. Orrr I can wait a bit for the new fabrics to come back into stock. Choices!!

Nice! Glad they can get it for you!
Lots of options if you wait for the newer fabrics. I'm looking at the charcoal gray (Jordan) for my stroller.

@nlc8424@klj0228 now that our shower is over, we have been purchasing the little stuff and buying it all together is really adding up. We are spending as much on the small healthcare and grooming as we did on the car seat. DH says we will wait until next month to get a bottle warmer, drying rack and bibs.
@smsaulino I highly recommend getting a silicone bib for the real food stage. You can just wash it quick in the sink and not have to wait for laundry. If you are referring to drool bibs then it's really a gamble, DD never really drooled so we never used bibs and then some babies go through 10 a day
Yeah, I would wait on too many bibs, too @smaulino I have a handful already, and I did put a few drool ones up just bc they are so stupid cute and just in case, but I won't run out and buy them if they aren't gifted to us.

@EErin86@smsaulino All of this! We never really used our cloth bibs because DD didn't need them. The silicone bibs with a little "tray" to catch food are amazing.

@klj0228 I feel like I'm in the same boat as you! I am blown away - we have the nursery chair, pack n play, travel system, and now rock n play all covered! I don't think we'll be left hanging with the smaller stuff... but either way we'll have to wait and see what happens whenever this (confirmed "surprise"l shower goes down... and/or try to be patient for completion discounts?
I really wanted to get a better topper for the pack n play, not sure how necessary it really is tho, and pack n play sheets would be nice.... but otherwise I feel like the nitty gritty stuff will take care of itself, or can be ordered Prime as needed, worst case. :p
@smsaulino I would personally get 2. They clean up super easy and dry fast, but nice to have an extra just in case. Also, my DS is the king of drool so we rely on bandana bibs for drool- they're awesome! Just search for them on Amazon.
They're long sleeved and great for letting LO feed themselves! My mom bought DS one for his first Christmas and I've bought 4 more because they're my favorite.

@BusinessWife in my experience, people who want to get the big stuff buy it right away so they can make sure to get it before anyone else. People planning to get smaller stuff procrastinate. With my shower, all the big stuff was purchased within a week of the invitations going out. But a lot of the smaller stuff was gifted to us as well. I say be patient and wait for the completion coupons!
I just need to vent for a second. I had lunch with my coworkers today, three men and one woman who just had a baby almost 2 months ago. It’s like she has no concept of what is appropriate to say...I’ve known for a while that she’s sort of classless and socially inept but honestly. First of all, she’s a very, very small girl. I don’t need her telling me how huge I am, and how “wow, I was barely that big when I gave birth!” And I really don’t need (and neither did the poor guys) to hear a *very* graphic story about a difficulty she had passing her placenta that I won’t even post here bc I ended up sitting in my car crying bc I’m so scared of that happening now. The men did not need to hear this story AT LUNCH. I looked at her and said “Do you really think that’s a story to tell a pregnant woman?” Also she was baffled that my nursery isn’t set up yet because apparently my baby can come at any moment now (I’m 29+3) with (knock on wood) no risk or indications for pre-term labor. BITCH STOP. Ok that’s all.
ETA she also pointed out how swollen my feet are. And my feet aren't swollen at all.
Like, to be honest, the guys might have been more traumatized than I was hahaha. My boss was like "Yeah, maybe we should talk about something else before lunch.."
@ashh2018 +1 for the placenta not being an issue. I remember delivering it but it was no big deal. It was seriously not interesting.
I don't care at all that there were dudes at that table, but I don't think that people in general don't want to talk graphic birth stuff at lunch. And she made a lot of comments that kinda make me want to slap her. Ugh. Some folk!
@ashh2018 I’m glad you said something to her. Totally inappropriate for her to say any of those things to anyone who didn’t specifically ask. Also I remember delivering the placenta but it was really no big deal. As for not having the nursery set up, most babies don’t sleep in their crib right away anyway (mine was in a bassinet then rock n play or pack n play) and those all take 1 minute to set up. You can change baby’s diaper anywhere. Other than that, all baby needs is food and you! I’m sure whenever baby comes you will have everything it needs for right then and the rest can be dealt with later.
And try not to worry. People with crazy stories are more likely to share than everyone else. +1 to delivering the placenta being NBD for me. I remember my OB saying it was coming but I feel like it just fell out basically.

@ashh2018 forgot to comment about the placenta. Mine was also easily delivered, I don't remember it at all and don't think it took much to get it out. Pretty sure DS was on my chest at that point and because I had an epidural and they had some pitocin going that it came out with a contraction.
Thank you all for letting me complain and for agreeing that she’s nuts, and making me feel better about her crazy placenta story lol. Yes, about the nursery, my aunt generously bought us the travel system and sent it so we have car seat and stroller, and my mom offered to get the bassinet we want so basically, Pinterest-worthy nursery or not, we will have what we need to start! And not to jinx myself but I have no reason to think that he is coming anytime too soon.
@southernlady07 I had a similar comment yesterday and she ended it with, "and there's just one in there?". Listen I've come to terms with my bigness, but FFS, please don't comment unless you want to tell me that I look great.
@southernlady07 and @nlc8424 no one said anything outloud, but when I went to drop my son at school the other day I wore a bodycon dress and my belly was all the way out there. One of the other moms glanced over and saw me and started with a normal, "oh hi.." and then she saw my ginormous bump and her eyes got so freaking big, lol. Yup. I'm huge. Those super fitted dresses make me look like I'm ready to pop any day now and not like I still have 3 months to go.
If it makes you all feel better about these unwanted looks and comments, I am wearing a maternity shirt from The Gap today. My co-worker is wearing a non-maternity shirt from The Gap in a similar fabric and color. She said "Hey! We are wearing the same shirt!". And I replied, "Yeah, but I fill mine out better.". She is a friend and super sweet, but this is obviously a maternity shirt and I put effort into looking nice today and you are just wearing an oversized shirt and look sloppy, so not the same shirt at all...
FTR people looking/commenting on my huge belly doesn't bother me. I am huge. That's just a fact. My ass on the other hand... If anyone comments on my dumpy pregnancy butt I'll have a full blown hysterical meltdown. My poor butt looks awful when I'm pregnant. It just like expands and then melts or something. It's just a sad, sad, lumpy, squishy, big old sad butt. I'd forgotten how not good it looked from last time. But it's the only butt I've got so I still have to take it with me everywhere and just hope everyone has the decency to pretend they don't notice the train wreck happening on my backside.
Receptionist at my eye doctor's office: When are you due? Me: September Receptionist: Really??!! Me: Yep Receptionist: ...........
Lady, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and pretend you just think I look fabulous and not like I'm due next week.
I've gotten: "any day now?" "almost there?" "are you sure it's not twins"
and more. The other day DH and I did a moderate hike at a state park. A guy passing by said "don't have it here!" to me. I realized too late otherwise I would have used @adirat's response of "what a rude thing to say!"
Someone else we saw on the hike said that I inspired them, which was nice. The other guy was probably jealous because a pregnant lady was more fit than him.

@starla Yes! I've only gotten one outright rude comment and I totally called him out on it being rude. He was an older man, though and I don't think he got it. He also mentioned he had never had kids. I told MH I wasn't surprised no one wanted to have kids with him.
I just don't understand people commenting on it because at no other time is it "acceptable" to comment on the shape of a woman's body.

The receptionist at my office couldn’t even hide her shock lol. She asked when I was due and I said “September 3rd” and her eyes bugged out and she said “oh dang!” And I could see her doing math in her little head. *eyeroll*.

So far my one comment wasn't that rude. I had a service appointment for my car and when I sat down with the guy to schedule the next one he goes "Well at least you got this out of the way before the baby came".
"Well actually, I have 4 months left." I rolled my eyes in my head, but I got the impression he just really didn't know better.

OMG one of my bestfriends who has struggled with IF for 3 years just told me that her most recent round of IVF worked and she's pregnant! With maybe 3! I'm so thrilled for her I haven't stopped crying since she told me. Oh this makes my heart so happy.
