My brothers girlfriend being home for the summer. She's been hanging out with me a lot already since she's been home and I'm so grateful for something to do when she comes over. Not working has been the biggest struggle for me the last two months and will only get worse until these Babies come
I'm thankful I made it to my chiropractor just before she left. Normally they are open till 7 on Thursdays but one Dr had her kid's bday party at 5 and the other had her kid's dance recital. I had no idea until after my adjustment when the Dr said "oh I have 13 minutes to get to my kids birthday party". I'm just glad I made it in time.
I’m thankful to Guncle for letting me crash at his place for a few weeks.
And I’m grateful to the contractor for keeping this project moving right along. I can’t imagine how strung out I would be if I had to chase him all the time.
@kiwi2628 I've never had Indian Food but I've always wanted to try it. I think I'm scared I'll pick something bad and ruin it for myself. Haha Any suggestions?
AFM, if anyone remembers my BF or WTF from last week (I honestly dont remember where I posted it lol) SO got a call from his lawyer and they go to court on Wednesday to settle his case.
@nmadjeski My favourite indian dish is chicken korma...its like a creamy coconut almond curry and its soooooooooooo good. The classic choice is Butter Chicken, although if I'm being honest that's probably my least favourite. I prefer the spicy full of flavour curries
@nmadjesk - All the Indian foods are tasty. However, not all the Indian restaurants are. Check Yelp! for suggestions. Also, be aware that some Indian restaurants are vegetarian (great if you are, not so great if you really wanted some lamb or chicken masala).
Late to the game, but one I've been thinking about this morning and yesterday.
I am thankful for this board (super cheesy, I know, but I think this was fully cemented for me yesterday in a new light through the UO thread and prior conversations.) The fact that we can have conversations where we agree to disagree and remain respectful of the other poster / don't make it personal, makes me so happy and optimistic about the generation we're about to introduce to the world. There seems to be such a general growth mindset in this BMB - a want to learn, share, and understand other perspectives - that I get the warm fuzzies thinking about all of the amazing babies that are about to be brought into the world by this group. Babies whose parents are clearly going to be ones to set an example for acceptance, a desire to learn and grow, and self-awareness. And those are the kind of kids I want my kid to be around - it makes me super excited for what their generation will bring to this world. Even if this is just a small microcosm of the world, I'm happy enough.
I don't think I articulated that as well as hoped...but I'm still working on my coffee.
edit: I should add, this is not to say that anyone else will also not raise their child in such a way. I am the eternal optimist that everyone is going to be a wonderful parent and they best parent that he or she can/wants to be, but I just get extra happy vibes here. I'm not trying to imply any sort of correlation, just sharing a lovefest for this BMB.
Piggybacking off @chopchop25 I like through other bmb's pretty regularly and it always makes me come back and appreciate this one so much more! Not to say others are worse but I think we all have a really clear understanding of each other and have a really great flow to this board. And its so so supportive! I wish I lived closer to all of you ladies so I could be raising my children to be friends with yours!!
@nmadjeski starting off with something simple like a chicken tikka masala and garlic naan is very yummy and safe. I also love saag paneer (or chicken saag), or chicken korma. I would stay away from tandoori or vindaloo until you know your heat levels better. I will say, depending on where you live, the indian food may suck, so if you live in middle-of-no-where Oklahoma, maybe pass on the indian till you visit one of the coasts or London
@nmadjeski If I remember correctly you're in central Jersey, right? If so, might be able to provide some recs, as you're in a sea of great Indian food there! Agreed with @kiwi2628 on starting with chicken tikka masala and naan
We have had some really tough conversations, both about pregnancy/parenting and social issues, and while occasionally they get heated, they are awesome, well rounded discussions. I’m so glad to be on this journey with you all!
Re: Thankful Thursday
Signed,
A person who just ate a crap ton of Indian food
I’m thankful for PTO. I’m currently on vacay and we went to the Grand Canyon today! It is breathtakingly beautiful!
And I’m grateful to the contractor for keeping this project moving right along. I can’t imagine how strung out I would be if I had to chase him all the time.

@chopchop25 I agree. I know I'm not the most active here, but I love being apart of this BMB for those same reasons!
@chopchop25 Yes that is correct. Thanks, I'd really appreciate the recs!
