Have y'all started counting down as opposed to up? 17 weeks left sounds far more appealing than 23 weeks down.
Dude!! Not yet!!! I’m not ready yet!!! 17 weeks is so little time!
That said, I’ve had a countdown going on my computer since about week 7; I just mostly ignore it. I figure my attitude will change in 3-4 weeks when I am hot and miserable.
Well now I'm going to start counting down - starting next week! So much better!
Rant about my bosses - practiced for my big presentation to leadership this weekend that was supposed to be this morning, and now I'm not going to be doing it. This has definitely been a great work rotation for studying managerial styles and learning what 'I will not be doing' (and some 'what I will's)
5. GTKY: What fad or trend do you hope comes back?
Hmmm...Dunkaroos, that fruit roll up type stuff that was a long string, kids running out to the street for the ice cream man, and the TGIF/Saturday morning lineup. I miss Saved by the Bell (still watch reruns), California Dreams, Hang Time, and all of that stuff. Basically I just want to be a kid again? I think all adults could use that right about now...
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 21 Weeks - Baseball Hat
2. How are you feeling? Still nauseous. Taking all the Tums for the acid reflux.
3. Any appointments this week? Nope
4. Rants/raves/questions? DH is somewhat disappointed that baby is a boy, but I'm super excited about it. I was hoping to have a name picked out by now, but DH is being stubborn. I have one name that I love and I think is perfect. He hasn't vetoed it, but he says he isn't sold on it. I told him unless he comes up with something better in the next 19 weeks, I'm naming our child that name. I'm super picky on boy names. I like classic names that work as a cute baby name as well as a legit adult name. I also like to stay out of the top 50ish names if possible. I did tell DH he can choose the middle name and that seemed to make him happy.
5. GTKY: What fad or trend do you hope comes back? Those velour track suits. I would totally jump right back into that trend.
+1 to having to pee all the time. Also sciatica sucks. And heartburn. My OB recommended a belly band since I'm having bad sciatic pain during the day now, but cautioned it will make my heartburn worse. Not sure if my heartburn is related to my stomach bug from memorial day weekend, or if it's just that time in my pregnancy to show up. Regardless, he also told me I should start grazing on meals instead of eating 3 meals a day, because I clearly can't handle it lol. He normally says that around 28 weeks, so lucky me, I'm starting early.
3. Any appointments this week?
nothing unless I pull myself together and schedule a massage
4. Rants/raves/questions?
how the hell am I over halfway done already? I'm woefully unprepared right now. I've literally done nothing except buy a new car. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
5. GTKY: What fad or trend do you hope comes back?
possibly UO here, so sorry if I offend...I hope the trend of over the top pinstagramable weddings/lifestyle/parties/showers goes away soon. It's incredibly stressful to plan events when you feel like you are trying to live up to this featured wedding on Pinterest. It took me some time after my wedding to get over that and not think about "oh I should have done that instead of this". I think overall I'm glad that we dedicated a lot of money to the behind the scenes stuff (good food/wine, transportation for guests, and other hospitality type stuff) than on decor that would make my wedding look better on Instagram. Can't we all just get back to enjoying our life, living in the moment, and not worrying about outdoing the Joneses?
Also, people, put your phone away during concerts. No one wants to view your Snapchat story of the extremely loud concert you are at. You can hear nothing except loud noises. That trend can die too!
1. How many weeks are you? What size is baby? 22 weeks. Baby is the size of half a dozen bagels...which seems HUGE to me, like, isnt that the size of a full grown baby? Are those just New York bagels or something?
2. How are you feeling? I feel great
3. Any appointments this week? Nope!
4. Rants/raves/questions? I am going to London on Thursday for babymoon #4 and I am so excited
5. GTKY: What fad or trend do you hope comes back? I am with @sliztee ...anything food related.
2. I feel great, but huge. I hit a number on the scale that I have literally never seen before and it scares the crap out of me to think I’ll only keep gaining!
3. Nope
4. I know it’s taboo to talk about weight but I can’t help but compare myself to those “how much should you gain” calculators and freaking out about it haha. Ugh. I’m trying to tell myself the doctor will tell me if I’m on track or if there’s anything to be concerned about so I shouldn’t bother stepping on the scale. I guess I’ve been so focused on health and fitness for so long (and a healthy weight that naturally comes along with that) that it’s hard to remember it’s healthy and a good thing.
5. Team food... especially dunk a Roos! Those things are delish!
19, today's daily said baby is a big as a dollar bill
2. How are you feeling?
Still sick. HG still kicking my ass. But I get random spurts of energy, so that's nice.
3. Any appointments this week?
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is our AS!
4. Rants/raves/questions?
I'm so over the HG. They kept trying to be hopeful and tell me "sometimes" it goes away by 20 weeks. Mine is definitely not. And being able to eat a normal portion would be nice. I couldn't even eat half a sandwich today. (Nothing else to eat. 2 pieces of normal bread, 1 piece of cheese, 2 thin pieces of warmed lunch meat.). I finally feel hungry sometimes, and can't eat. It's cruel. But, I'm finally starting to feel the baby move, (at least when I lay down) which is great. Can't wait til it's more consistent movement.
Also can't wait to find out if we are xy again or xx, so we can finally pick a name!
5. GTKY: What fad or trend do you hope comes back? There is lots of good food and drink ones I'd love. Totally on board with @acciocoffee and the velour track suits. Those were comfy. I could probably think of a few more. Lol
Lurking from Thursday.. @kiwi2628 I’m going to say they can’t be talking about NY bagels... that would be ridiculously big! Also, have a great time in London! So jealous!
@ladyofarlington I understand where you're coming from with weight. I'm saying I've gained 15 (not including the 2lb I had literally just lost the two weeks prior to BFP). I wanted to stay under 20, which isn't going to happen. However, I'm happy that it's been roughly a pound a week.
I'm focusing on eating better and being active (walking more) and hoping it'll help me maintain a bit better.

I feel like I could have written this exact post. Same gain, same initial goals for the most part (was hoping not to exceed 25.) I'm finding that the scale doesn't impact me as much mentally when I'm working out somewhat regularly and eating a bit better, so I'm focusing on doing these things that make me feel good about myself regardless of scale.
I struggle with past eating disorders and some major body issues. I gained 20lb last Oct around my wedding and was finally working on it again in Dec/Jan. Baby threw off my groove of working out and eating well.
One of my coworkers came back today from her maternity leave and she looks amazing. I'm hoping to at least get back to within 10lb of pre-baby weight before I go back.
Everyone coming back from maternity leave here also looks awesome...I find it fascinating. Or maybe it's just that they're not pregnant anymore and I only knew them that way for so many months I know there's a few people here good at keeping up with fit mom Friday, but maybe post baby we can start a thread. Back on TK, we had a daily/weekly accountability one that had check-ins and was very positive and encouraging - I know we'll be busy, but maybe something like that could be fun as a way to stay accountable toward post-baby goals!
@chopchop25 - Okay, this is going to sound terrible, but- One of the ladies here who is always very trim came back from maternity leave a couple months ago with a bit of extra weight. I was so surprised and relieved about that, because it seems like everyone comes back looking like they never had a baby. I’m also so happy for her now, because she seems to be back to pre-baby. (Would never mention any of this to her because it sounds so awful!)

Thanks for sharing, ladies. This makes me feel better (as silly as that sounds). I’ve also gained 15 pounds so far and was hoping to stay closer to the 25 pound mark.
There are two other pregnant women with whom I work closely and we are all due within 3 weeks of each other! One of them was sharing how she has only gained 8 pounds so far and silly me felt all insecure about it haha. I know it is stupid, but I couldn’t help comparing myself. It was also ironic that we talked about how she was impressed I was still working out 4-5 days a week and eating (relatively) healthy when she hasn’t so I think that added a little insult to injury.
I *know* gaining weight and maintaining healthy eating is important for baby and me, but reminding myself of that as the number creeps up is more of a struggle than I imagined. I’m obviously not running half marathons or taking any intense classes these days, but basic strength training and cardio should still help me meet my healthy and fit lifestyle goals (and hopefully help L&D).
Anyway, thanks for sharing and keeping my mind in check.
I tried to quote @chopchop25 and @sammierose464 from my phone and it looks like it got distorted. Oops. Sorry ladies, there is much to be desired with exclusive phone posting! Haha.
Also, I love the idea of daily accountability thread!
@ladyofarlington I am with you on the weight thing. I have always been naturally lean (5'7 and 125 lbs) and seeing the numbers go up on the scale has been a lot rougher for me than I thought it would be. Once I hit 132 (the highest weight I have ever been in my entire life), I was so anxious about it because I felt and still feel like I am gaining too much too soon. My doctor doesn't seem concerned that at 20 weeks I have gained 13 lbs, but I feel like its way too much so soon, especially since I was hoping to stay around the 25 lb weight gain area total and....ugh. Anyway, its nice to know I am not alone in feeling like this
Re: Monday Ticker Change 6/4
