Two of my coworkers called out today leaving me and the new guy who can't access anything yet as the only ones here. Not the way I wanted to start my week guys.
So only part of my comment posted... Ugh, this app.
I was talking to my friend about a parenting styles discussion my DH and I had, and this woman sitting at the table next to us intruded on the conversation and told me all the ways we were wrong. Ooooh. My. God.
Just saw the bloat thread and reminded me how bloated I am right now. I had to take my pants off while I was sittin gon the couch yesterday because I was so uncomfortable. I'm very much ready for a real bump
@molosmiles I asked her when she was invited to the conversation, and she told me she was just helping me to avoid making "major" mistakes (like letting tot cry it out during a tantrum? Haha). People drive me nuts.
I really miss Aleve/ NSAIDS. My neck and shoulder have been killing me the last few days, and it's causing an annoying tingling down my arm. Tylenol just isn't cutting it.
I woke up this mornig with a belly. I seriously look 15w right now. WHEN I WAKE UP! There is no hiding this. I have the belly band on rotation in black and white. My daughter looked at my belly and thought I was pregnant. We haven't told them yet. I don't think I can hide this anymore. If I look that pregnant when I wake up there is no way I can hide it by the afternoon/evening.
@sparkymcgeee which belly bands do you have? I didn't get one with DD but I have a lot of shorts and capris I want to use this summer and not buy maternity clothes until winter.

I ordered the La Reve off of amazon last year but it's not in stock right now. I like it plenty. The other is a BeBand from Target that I've had since KU with DD 7/8 years ago. Still has it's shape really well and works just fine.
I just realized that I’m not going to be out of the first tri until the end of July. DH is going to be out of town for 3 straight weeks in July taking grad school classes. The solo parenting + first tri exhaustion/sickness may just kill me.
We were talking about starting to potty train this weekend, but I may just table that until DH gets back in town.

@saltedcaramel518 Def wait until your DH is available to help you with potty training! We potty trained (are still in the process) of PT DD, we started over Memorial Day weekend and it was SO incredibly helpful to have DH there the first few days. Honestly, if he wasn't there I probably would have given up!
Pregnancy cravings and online grocery shopping are not a good mix. I decided I needed a papaya and now i'm currently googling how to cut a papaya. I think I have eaten papaya once in my life... on a trip in Mexico.

I went grocery shopping yesterday and I alternated between grabbing random crap not on my list because "ZOMG IT SOUNDS GOOD" and dry heaving. I told DH he's in charge of the food shopping from now on.
So I have a borderline obsession with my houseplants. Been collecting rare plants for a while, name them, talk to them, completely invested in their wellbeing. After the past few weeks of exhaustion I've killed about half of them. Just can't be bothered to even think about watering them. And for that reason I am so totally in awe of all you second (third, fourth, etc) time moms. I'm sure you're about fifty times more exhausted than I am and you're keeping HUMANS alive! You are all amazing superhero goddesses and I hope you know that!
@kaf1788 my kids are more independant than a plant. Lol. I can tell them to go get themselves a drink or a snack and they do. It wasn't as easy when DD was 1 and 2.
If a plant developed the incessant toddler whine, I would probably be better at keeping the plant alive. I seriously believe human evolution made it so you can't stand whining as a way to make sure toddlers survive.
DS had been a pill today. It’s not the “terrible twos” it’s THREE! Two was a breeze. Now he has an opinion about everything and I’m trying to get the courage to start potty training him.
H came down with something yesterday and was acting like a baby but I don't even care because he actually wanted to do nothing all day. He's normally a slave driver. He "feels happy when he finishes a chore" yeah... that is nice and all... but chores are never ending! So long story short, I should feel bad that he's sick, but I don't. I'm really enjoying the break from housework.
I spent all day fixing fences and building new sections so my dog will stop getting out. Being blind does not stop her at all. Spent all that time for the kids to just leave the gate open and let her out anyway.
This week is going to be a long one! I have an important meeting tomorrow 8 AM sharp. Just got done prepping my snacks so I don’t faint when I leave the house at 6:45. Once I get through that tomorrow, I just need to get through Wednesday 8 am-8 pm. All day conference and networking. Not sure how I’ll survive when I take two naps a day when at home. Anyway, I made some snacks (in spoiler) - hoping it gets me through the first half of the day.
Roasted sweet potatoes coated in olive oil, garlic powder, and slightly drizzled in honey. Topped w everything but bagel sesame seasoning and the skin is sweet, savory, and crispy! Yum.
In case this makes anyone want to gag, pic in spoiler. Already had four. Going to bed. Wish me luck. Need this week to be over!!
@luckymay2x I actually think you're scientifically spot on. Similar to crying. Some research I've read say that adults react the way they do because it keeps children alive. The whining and crying are hard to listen to, so we respond to our children's needs. Also, that crazy hormonal bond between parents and babies is basically necessary to keep the baby alive, too. It makes all our work feel worth it and literally numbs the bad stuff as days go on. Otherwise, why would anyone do this twice?
@sweetyjenj, I started it two weeks ago but was on vacation last week and it never went up. I don’t think anyone is officially in charge of starting it. I just did this week’s for us, though!

I fell asleep reading last night at like 6:30. DH must have handled getting the kids fed because I didn’t wake up until after 10.

@emmaaa seriously... this bloat is no joke. I practically live in leggings and loose dresses right now.
