Re: June WTO

  • Cd2. AF picked up by bed time. Yesterday was a really really hard day. I wasn't a pleasure to be around at all be DH got me out of the house and into the sun. Not really much to change in our game plan but I did switch to vaginal temping as I'm tired of all the "outside" variables. I'm trying not to be overly hopeful for this cycle because I took this recent unsucess way worse then I've been.

  • @prpl11butterfly I’m so sorry, I’m definitely taking it harder this month as well! I hope getting out into the sun helped! I should be joining you over here in a day or two :(
  • @char245 "should be" is the wrong term. None of us should be here. And yet, we are. At least in good company though
  • Back here, CD1.
  • No good @char245.  I’m sorry.

  • Thanks ladies, it’s a big bummer but I just made my appointment with my RE. So next Thursday I’ll find out all the next steps in our IVF process, at least that’s something to look forward to I guess??
  • Steps are always good. Having a plan seems to make it a little more tolerable.

    Back here, CD1.
    so sorry
  • Bummer @char245 ! i was hoping for you.

AFM CD 16 still only getting high fertility readings. If I don't O while on clomid I'm disowning my stupid ovaries....
  • @Kath525 hopefully you O.   RE told me some women don’t respond to clomid but do on letrozole
  • @Mack2342 good to know, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!
  • I really hope the Clomid works for you @Kath525
  • Grrr for cd2 when I really was hopeful last cycle.  Very keen to know when others turned to clomid and how that went as that’s our next step too.  Fingers crossed for this cycle though and working on my positive attitude
  • CD4, most boring part of the month!
  • I’m here now CD1
  • So sorry to everyone that’s over here now, spring seems to make this a harder month to get discouraged I think for some reason. FX for everyone that this cycle pans out!

I guess I’m here now CD12? I don’t know my body is pissing me off. @grebretso the brown spotting never turned to a real AF so I guess that was my AF? It lasted 11days. Seeing my fertility specialist tomorrow - feeling nervous, he doesn’t even know about my MMC yet, he’ll be pretty surprised to see me again I’m sure. Hoping I ask the right questions and he lets us pick up right where we left off with femara...

@justarius that’s similar to what I had. For me it did turn red at one point, but it was always very little and never got anywhere near as heavy as a it normal is. I suppose if you bleed for that long, there’s a limited amount of “stuff” in there after a while, and you can’t really have a normal AF. The most annoying part is not being able to pinpoint CD1 accurately!

Glad youre seing your fertility specialist, hopefully you’ll get some answers!

  • @Mack2342 I’m so sorry you’re back here but I’m glad that you’ve decided to stick around for a while. I’m really hoping that it works for you in the next couple of months!!
  • @justarius I agree, Spring seems to have helped my mood! FX that this month brings a lot of good news!!
  • Blood tests today confirmed that i did not ovulate this month. Now waiting a week (hopefully) for AF and then jumping to 100 mg clomid. This is the worst waiting game ever.
  • oh @Kath525, I'm sorry. :( I hope AF shows up soon!

  • Sorry @kath525 at least you know and can discuss with doctor next steps.
  • Damn it @kath525, I'm sorry. Maybe AF will arrive early.
  • @Kath525 I’m sorry, that’s gotta be so frustrating! FX that the increase will do the trick!!
  • Damn @kath525.  I really hope they change your meds and get O going.
  • Sorry @Kath525 hope the increase is all it takes!! Has femara instead of clomid been talked about?
  • Had our IVF appointment today, if it doesn’t happen for us this month then we start that whole process in the beginning of July. Not sure why I didn’t realize this but from start to implantation takes 12-14 weeks the way we are doing it! I didn’t remember it taking that long with my sister. Glad to have a plan but WOW this is gonna be a long road!
  • Oh wow @char245! Naturally I hope things work out this month but, if not FX that IVF does. I wouldn't have through the process would take that long either but at the same time, I guess it makes sense.
  • @char245 What protocol are they putting you on?  We had our first appointment in April, and will hopefully start the actual process next week.
  • @bakerstreetboys I will start BC for 2-3 weeks on CD1 and they will monitor follicle growth. I will then do injections for 10-12 days, next I will trigger and go in for retrieval. They will fertilize them and monitor/test the embryos and freeze them while they wait for results. Apparently this takes a couple of weeks. In the meantime I will be waiting for another AF to then take estrogen to prepare for implantation. Sooo many things! Does this sound similar to what you will be doing?

@char245 So many different protocols!  This is totally different than mine.  I was so sure that we'd do PGS testing, but our RE didn't recommend it for us; in fact she advised against it.  It took some convincing, but we won't do it at least for the first cycle.  It would have added 2-3 months for us because of freezing and testing, so that helped sway us.  I start patches to prevent ovulation as soon as I get a + OPK, and then on CD 1 I start injections and monitoring.  Once there are enough mature follicles (fingers crossed), we'll do the ER and transfer either 3 or 5 days later, and start progesterone.  We'll be transferring two if there are two good ones.  If there are any others left, we'll freeze them.  We have an appointment next week to get the first round of meds and get a run through of how to do injections.  All so new and scary to me!
Did it work on the first try for your sister?
  • @bakerstreetboys wow that is different! Do you know why she was against it?
Unfortunately IVF didn’t work for my sister but she adopted an embryo (very similar to IVF and that worked).
  • If you're interested IVF'ers, I can share a link to my ivf experience. I had 3 failed iui's and then first time success with ivf @bakerstreetboys. I can pm on here right? I've had many ppl say it helped give them an idea of what to expect.
  • @rowedking6 I’d love to hear about your experience! Thanks!
  • Thanks ladies for all the support!!
@justarius We haven't discussed it yet. Hoping the higher dosage works first.
@char245 glad you have a plan going forward but hope you don't need it and that this cycle does the trick!
  • @rowedking6 That would be awesome, thanks!  There's an infertility board, but I'm more comfortable here where I "know" people :)

@char245 Amazing that there are so many different options and that embryo adoption worked for your sister!  My RE didn't think PGS was right for us because of my age (40); she thinks we won't get many good fertilized eggs to begin with and there's a risk associated with PGS wherein some embryos can be damaged.  Also, they're finding now that there are false test results and good quality embies are being discarded.  We were still on the fence about it, but the extra cost and 2-3 month longer wait nudged us towards not doing it.  For this round anyway :)

  • @bakerstreetboys good to know! Well I’m definitely jealous of your shorter timeline!
