My heartburn is back with a vengeance. Remember how I was so worried about not having it before now? Yup, that worry is out the window. Picked up some omeprazole this weekend, fingers crossed it helps!
My pelvic region in general is still hurting very badly But besides some wicked insomnia, daytime fatigue and occasional heartburn, I'm actually doing really well. That dang pelvis though is putting a real damper on my days. So hard to move and do the things! Carrying my 30 pound toddler is a no go most of the time. Hurts too much and I can't breathe. I'm pleasantly surprised though to be mostly ok and truly not miserable, pelvic pain aside. I see the midwife this week so hopefully she has some helpful wisdom to share about how to make my hips and vagina not hurt.
Ughh, Daddy's little stress-fest this morning was giving me a horrible belly cramp / Charlie horse on my right side. Managed to sit, sip water, try to relax etc. and it seems to be easing up. But FFS. Can we not??? Lol
The only real thing I have noticed recently is my center of gravity. Even though I haven't gained a lot of weight, it seems like with everything redistributing I am getting thrown off by every day things. Like it shouldn't be harder to get up off the floor, but it sure is. And even though I haven't had real insomnia, I wake up a lot at night to reposition myself, which is getting annoying. For those of you with maternity pillows, do you think it really makes a difference?
I had heartburn last night for about a minute. It was the first time I've ever had heartburn in my life! Such a weird feeling. Did not like.

Omg @starla welcome to #myfirsttrilyfe :s. Hope it doesn't become a thing for you now.
@Redpuma119 I don't have a snoogle-type thing yet, but I've been making do with a regular king-size pillow as a body pillow between my knees. I haven't been having too many wakeups so far that way...
I got out of breath putting sunscreen on this morning. Also, I feel like I’m starting to waddle at the end of the day...
@Redpuma119 I LOVED my Snoogle last time around, but this time I ordered a new one and it seems overstuffed or something...so I’ve been doing the same as @BusinessWife.

@southernlady07 my husband will ask our son, "how does mama walk?" And kiddo'll spread his legs and bend his knees (picture a cartoon cowboy getting off his horse after a long ride) then put his hands on his back or butt and start a dramatic side to side waddle and say, "waddle, waddle, waddle," all while laughing hysterically.
@southernlady07 I get so out of breath! I got out of bed this morning and DH rolled over all concerned and was like “what’s wrong? Are you ok??” and it was just me being out of breath from shifting my pillows and sitting up lol.
Baby is kicking constantly. It doesn’t hurt, I’m loving it bc I think it’s adorable. Actually got a little concerned that he was moving too much..like could he be uncomfortable or stressed and that’s why he’s moving??
I have a snoogle, and it hasn’t been comfortable for me this pregnancy! So disappointing. I’ve been using two longer pillows, one on each side of me. Makes it easier when I turn over at night, plus I like have one between my legs and one propped under my back.
+1 to the waddle! And peeing a little when I sneeze. My pelvis and hips hurt so much, even when I’ve barely done anything during the day. It’s hard to be motivated to be active.
last appointment I checked with my OB that using unisom almost nightly to help with sleep is okay. He says go for it! I feel weird taking something so often, but the difference in my sleep without it is ridiculous.
@smsaulino My H just felt the baby kick for the first time too! Like 30 minutes ago!!! It was so exciting - he just happened to put his hand on my bump at the exact right moment. Then our little salsa dancer did a big kick!
I ended up getting the boppy pillow that that supports your back and bump but only in the middle region. It’s not big at all. It’s not perfect by any means, and I thought I would return it, but after a few nights I was hooked. So, this pillow might be worth trying if nothing else is working for you. I know this is not a glowing review, but seriously, I’m hooked. I still have to put another pillow between my legs. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N3Y3848/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_032cBbJHYDBED
I now have developed a stiff ache-y feeling in my right butt cheek - like running along the side of my tailbone. It’s really weird and only on the right. I don’t feel pain radiating into my leg or back, so I don’t think it is siatica. I have not found any stretches that relieve this. Does anyone have any ideas about what part of my body this is? I can’t even google it!
@magnolia209 Do you think it may just be tailbone pain? Mine hurts mostly on the left side of my tailbone, especially when I’m walking up stairs. My coccyx pillow has helped a bunch.

@southernlady07 I was having what I figured was tailbone pain earlier on in the pregnancy. I think you suggested the donut pillow which I got and it really helped! So, thanks!!! That was on both sides of my tailbone and affected my lower back too. And, it was painful.
This is very different. The donut pillow has started to agrivate it too. I have no idea why it’s only on 1 side. It’s not pain so much as an ache. It kind of feels muscular, but I’m not sure. But it seriously gets so stiff that I’m not sure if I can walk. It’s comes and goes. And, walking seems to help after a while - even though it’s uncomfortable when I start. I’m getting a massage in June so hopefully that will help! It’s not crazy painful - just very uncomfortable.
@magnolia209 Hopefully, your massage helps! My OB suggested PT to me for my sciatic pain, so I imagine they could give you some good stretches to do to help if it gets worse. Wearing a maternity support belt/belly band has helped me a lot to take pressure off that whole area.

The belly is a bit of a force these days, I've noticed for sure I have the evening waddle and I have had to adjust how I put sneakers on. One grrrreat thing about being pregnant in the summer... sandals/flip flops! oh yes and ice cream, popsicles ,slushy drinks! Craving that cold goodness for sure! Kinda feeling overwhelmed with all the stuff we gotta get done in the next 3 months ish. I get up in the middle of the night to pee and then find it hard to fall asleep again because my mind starts thinking about that stuff. @MandyMost absolutely those are symptoms and I am with ya, feeling all those things too! @magnolia209 sometimes when I lay on one side for too long I get pain in that area but it subsides once I am moving. I stopped working almost a month ago now. with all that extra time, I started focusing on pelvic floor strengthening exercises 4x/week with gentle chiro & massage 2x/week. I’m feeling so much better! Low back and pelvic pain are entirely gone and mid back pain has drastically improved. I want to start adding in one swim a week now as long as the weather cooperates. Have to stay in good enough shape to move cross country with our dogs in 5 weeks then get an entire house furnished and set up before baby arrives. I’m the handy one in our house so this should be interesting.
@sclarke7@klj0228 I've started to waddle a bit when I'm tired as well. Trying to resist the waddle! LOL

@Starla I try my best to hide it, but when I’m that tired apparently it cannot be hidden. Sigh
Also having a some vomiting again this week. Last night a neighbor was doing fireworks and had several mortars that were just loud and the first one went off with no warning. Scared me half to death and the echo was terrible. From then on I was sick. Went inside our other neighbors house for dinner and was feeling nauseas. H was checking on me and another friend noticed and asked if I was okay from the other side of the room. Well then everyone started trying to tell me what to do to feel better and the entire rooms attention was on me. It made me so embarrassed that I was crying. So then I was crying and feeling like vomiting. I decided to walk outside and eat watermelon for dinner by myself. I felt terrible getting upset, but when I am trying to not get sick all I want is silence and to focus on not being sick! Now I am still vomiting and nauseated today. So ready to not be throwing up again.
@klj0228 I’m so sorry- that sounds awful!!! I threw up Thursday night but it wasn’t morning sickness - just an overactive gag reflex. But it sucked! We are deep 2 trimester. You deserve a puke free ride from here on out.
Oh and the waddle...I’m totally waddling! I’m not even that big, but I’m carrying low. I don’t know if people are noticing the waddle - I’m sure my best friends and family will tell me when they all see me pregnant for the first time later this week.
@klj0228 you poor thing, if anyone deserves a an easier time symptoms wise its you. I'm sorry you are still feeling so crappy. How happy you will be to get this baby out into the world and no longer be vomiting... big smile I bet just like princess Kate

Definitely +1 on the waddle, and with my weight gain (I'm not upset about it, but I've gained a bunch) I'm not shocked. The SPD is...intense. Getting out of bed is lots of shocking stabbing pain, and then shuffling for quite a while. I love my pregnancy pillow, but it's actually not quite thick enough anymore...my hips got even wider and I need more support to keep them steady. Oh well.
Also, it hit 100 degrees here this weekend, and we just got our large window unit into our main room at 6 pm that day. Had lots of fun, saw lots of people, checked out a great park, but with sudden heat (it was highs of 45 and raining literally a week ago!) I now have foot swelling if I'm on my feet too long. No finger swelling though, so that's great.
Other than issues getting around though, I feel pretty good.

I didn’t think my hands were swelling, but I tried to take my rings off this morning and it was a struggle. Sad to not wear them but I’d rather not need them cut off lol. Getting a silicon one for my flight.
I went in to my OB practice about my hip pain last Thursday. Got some Flexeril but, unfortunately, I'm still having a lot of trouble with it. I'm so depressed when I think that this might not go away until I deliver. Sometimes it's just annoying and sometimes it's all I can think about and I can't stand up without falling down and crying out several times. I don't know if there's anything more that can be done about it, but it's having a big impact on my quality of life. Going to call about my PT referrals tomorrow to see if I can't get in any sooner. Anyone ever been prescribed anything beyond Tylenol for pain during pregnancy? Besides all that, my belly suddenly feels full all the time and my posture has changed. Feeling kicks and rolls, sometimes can see a little twitch but I'm looking forward to when you can really see big movement. Oh and my boobs have finally filled back out after being totally depleted from my last pregnancy. They were so sad, I was wondering if they would grow/fill up again. But they have! Woop! Nips got darker a couple weeks ago too.
@Car0liiine I feel your pain. I’m sorry I don’t have anything for you but empathy. The past 2 days have been hard for me feeling like I can’t do the things I want because of the pain. I have a PT appointment June 11 with a practice that specializes in pregnancy and postpartum. I’ll let you know if they give me any good suggestions. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone.
Count me on on the pelvic pain. I had mild dysplasia before pregnancy, so I've had pelvic pain before... but nothing like this. I've started making myself walk around the block. It's not immediately clear to me whether it's helping, although it probably will in the long run. I'm like granny getting in and out of bed at night. I get pretty upset about it sometimes. We still have soo much to do to get this house ready for a baby. And I absolutely have to work until baby comes. It's overwhelming and the anxiety definitely has me awake at night. Like right now. One thing that worries me is reading that SPD can continue post partum, especially if you're breastfeeding. FTM here, and breastfeeding sounds like a lot of trouble for a working mom, and I don't need any more deterrents.
I have one of those darn C-shaped pillows. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I even took it out of the bed for a while, but I've got it back in right now. It's difficult to change positions and even get out of bed. I wish I'd just gotten a regular body pillow.
@rachel1008 My SPD/pelvic girdle pain went right away after birth and I breastfed DS for 10.5 months. And, they say the pain gets worse with each pregnancy, but I’ve felt that I’ve had an easier time this time around (so far). I was like you and couldn’t get in/out of bed or chairs or my couch without wanting to cry. This time, the pain is mostly in/out of bed and not nearly as awful, though it did start earlier in this pregnancy. So, try not to freak out yet. It may end up better than you expect!
Talk to me about pelvic pain versus pelvic pressure. I am thinking that those with pelvic pain have just that, pain when moving, getting up, etc. It doesn't sound pleasant at all and I am sorry so many are feeling it. Am I correct?
I am having what I would maybe pelvic pressure? Certain times a day, especially when teaching group fitness classes, I feel as though I constantly have to go to the bathroom. I did get treated last week at urgent care for a UTI, and that is helping, but there are still times a day where it is bad. I go to the doctor on Friday, so I am hoping for some answers, even if it is a "it's normal" at this point response.
@Redpuma119 I do have have a snoogle type pillow and I really like mine. It took me at least a week to like mine. I already had a body pillow given to me by my sister, but I feel like my body pillow is too full and made my shoulders hurt.
@lisac113 pelvic pressure was "normal" for me for a lot of the second half of my pregnancy. I've just recently felt an increase in pelvic pressure like everything is swollen down there now. I've been on my feet a lot lately so I'm not sure if that's increasing it for me or not.
Fatigue is still the big one for me. I'm so tired all the time.
Definitely started swelling a bit some days - my feet start to feel tight and my ankle bones look puffed up. I lasted a lot longer before this started with DS so I'm bummed it's starting up now.
Some back/hip pain which sounds pretty wide-spread right now.
Some carpal tunnel sensations at times. My left hand was really bad last night but it has been better so far this morning.
Also Braxton Hicks occasionally. Mainly linked to not enough water or a too full bladder.
