    Hello all!

How far along are you? / EDD: 10w5d - 12/12

How are you feeling? Feeling ok. Started to get tired easily. Also, since last week I have some mild cramping. Last two days also had very light brown spotting. I almost freaked out, but thought that I shouldn't unless it turns red.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Wednesday 11 week ultrasound

Thoughts/Concerns? As I mentioned above cramping is kind of concerning but I read is common. So, trying to be calm.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!): There were a lot before pregnancy as I am a good cook (haha) but now I dont want to eat anything. Its strange since I didn't have any morning sickness or anything but these days nothing sounds appetizing.

    How are you feeling?

Pretty over this nausea (and it only started at 8 weeks) combined with a cold (congestion which has turned into a cough - it sounds like EVERYONE in my office is sick - I didn’t stand a chance with my compromised immune system).  Otherwise just waiting...

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?

Nope - next appointment’s not till June 8.  I did a 24 hr urine test yesterday though so got to drop that off this morning.  The container wasn’t big enough and they only gave me one.

    Thoughts/Concerns?

Just hope this little girl’s okay!

    Questions:

    None right now.

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)

My go-to comfort food is salt ramen from Santouka.  Pretty much I’m disappointed any time ramen isn’t that :p

  • @Ilky I hope all goes well with your appt on Wednesday and you'll get some comforting news after the spotting. I've read the same thing - brown spotting is common and usually nothing to worry about. FX for you!

@artemis618 My next appt is also June 8. It's crazy to think that it's still 2.5 weeks away, and it's already been a week and a half since my last appt! C'mon, June 8th! I hope your cold gets cleared up soon, and your nausea starts to settle down!

    12 weeks 2 days, Dec 1st

    How are you feeling?
Ok! Exhaustion is less frequent, and not needing as many naps, so yey!

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
    Nothing til June 8...

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Not much - just trying to stay positive while waiting for the next appointment!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)
My favorite food has always been mac and cheese. I like it in all forms (boxed w/powder, boxed w/cheese sauce, homemade, frozen), but frozen is definitely my favorite! I know that's weird, but I love Marie Callender's frozen mac and cheese - the texture and taste are just perfect! I can never replicate it w/homemade!

    11w 4d / Dec 6

    How are you feeling?

    Good. Maybe a little tired.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?

Last week I was diagnosed with GD. So on Thurs I’ll take a diabetes class. Also on Thurs, after 3 weeks of no appts, I’ll have the NT scan

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Super scared of the scan on Thurs. as I don’t have any symptoms and even my boobs are not sore anymore.

    Questions:
If something was cooked with alcohol, do you still eat it? If I know, i avoid it. But I think that many times when I go out I probably have no idea that my meal was cooked with alcohol.

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)

In the last few weeks I crave anything with carbs: pizza, pasta, bagels and also sweets. But now that I was diagnosed with GD all these are a big no-no for me :(

  • **lurking from 2nd tri**

@prudence9-2. I'm sorry about the GD. :/  FWIW, I honestly wouldn't worry about eating food that has alcohol cooked in the sauce.  Any alcohol cooks out anyway, and even if it's not 100% cooked off, it's not enough to worry about it hurting the baby.
  • How far along are you? / EDD

    12w6d      EDD:11/28

    How are you feeling?

Still having exhaustion, sore breasts but less nauseous days now- I have a cold so thats been no fun

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?

Yesterday I had the NT scan in a different city. The doctor was out sick, so the ultrasound tech could only tell me what she saw on the screen, which looked good.

    Thoughts/Concerns?

Im anxiously awaiting the blood results from the NT- stressful! And Im kind of annoyed I didnt get to find out yesterday.

    Questions:

When does 2nd trimester officially start? Im getting conflicting info.

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)

Food is the enemy right now lol but I love Italian!
  • @prudence9-2 I wouldn't worry about the alcohol food is cooked in as it usually cooks off for the most part.  I haven't chatted with my regular doc about it yet (will at my appointment in June) but my sister in law (who is 25 weeks right now) said her doctor told her that the occasional beer or glass of wine isn't going to hurt the baby - you don't want to drink "normally", but a champagne toast at a wedding or having some of hubbys beer at a picnic once or twice a month isn't going to harm anything.  Another friend of mine told me her doctor actually encouraged her to have a dark beer every so often in the third trimester because it helps with milk production.  I know in Europe their restrictions on alcohol are also much less strict than over here.  I wouldn't go out and hit the bar lol, and obviously clear anything through your doc, but a tiny bit now and then probably isn't going to have any significant affects :)
  • How far along are you? / EDD

    8 wks 2 days / 12/31/18

    How are you feeling?

The nausea has gotten pretty intense this week!  Last night was horrible - I couldn't eat anything but a few crackers and some water ice (thank goodness for water ice!).  I feel a bit better this morning which has been the norm the last week or two - I feel ok first thing in the am and get progressively more nauseated as the day goes on.  I know the last time I felt super horrible one day I got a bit of a reprieve the next day and didn't feel as bad so we will see if that happens again today!  Its a sucky circle because when I feel horrible it sucks but then when I dont I get freaked out something is wrong!  Boobs have been pretty consistently sore - sometimes worse than others but in general they are sore all the time.  Getting up to pee three times a night hasn't been fun either!  I'm looking forward to eating food normally again!

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?

We graduate from the RE on Friday with our last ultrasound there!  Then I have my first midwife appointment on June 6.  Not sure what that will consist of but I'm hoping to get to listen to the heartbeat if possible!

    Thoughts/Concerns?

Normal anxieties about the baby being ok!  But slowly allowing myself to enjoy the planning a little bit more each day!  I know we aren't out of the danger zone yet but feeling a little more confident each day.  We bought some receiving blankets over the weekend while out shopping for my sister in law so that was a big step, buying the first things for baby!

    Questions:

Has anyone been seen by a midwife instead of a regular OB?  Just curious if the first appointment will be similar to an OB appointment with blood tests, etc... or if it will be more basic?  The midwife we are seeing is nurse midwife

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)

To make is either baked ziti or lasagna - though I enjoy chicken cordon bleu as well (chicken is off the menu for cooking at the moment though , yuck!).  If I'm doing take out I love a good burger or pizza for sure!
  • @thothscribe81 @DecemberDoll27 thanks. I know that alcohol later in the pregnancy is not as bad. The other day at lunch at work the meal i got included olive dressing with alcohol. Not sure how much cooking was done for that dressing. So I got it without the dressing ;)
Im sure I probably had some alcohol in my cooked food at some point. But right now I try to avoid it if I know about it.

    13 weeks/ Twins due November 27, 2018

I think this is my last week in 1st trimester group  :'(

    How are you feeling?
Good - still tired and hungry all the time.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
Since I'm having twins, I have to meet with a high-risk Dr. in addition to my regular OB.  I meet with her next week, but she requires that I have another ultrasound at her hospital this week for her own records before we meet... FINE BY ME!  I'm excited to see my little guys again!   :)

    Thoughts/Concerns?
Still anxiously awaiting my blood test results to find out genders (since they messed up the first test).  One more week to go!

    Questions:
Anyone else start spotting?  I had zero spotting until I hit 12 weeks, since then, every morning when I wake up I get some brown spotting when I wipe.  Nothing more than that and it's only in the morning, but it's been everyday since.  Didn't know if anyone else was experiencing that.

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)
Anything meat or cheese related.  I haven't been big on carbs or sweets, but would love to eat a good steak each night if I could.  I pretty much snack on string cheese and peanut butter throughout the day at work.

    TTC: 2+ Years

  • @josiepasta Yey! Congrats on getting ready to move up to the 2nd trimester!! I haven't had any spotting yet and I just hit my 12 weeks Saturday. I'm sure it's fine since it's brown and not red, and only in the morning. FX for a great US this week!

@eabrahamson I'm just going by what The Bump says because everything is different!! According to them, you're in the 1st trimester up through 13 weeks 6 days. Then, once you hit 14 weeks, it's 2nd trimester! I know there are a bunch of us who will be hitting 14 weeks sometime during next week, so I think that will be our last week in this thread (and our first week in 2nd trimester)! We're so close...lol!

prudence9-2  I'm sorry you are dealing with GD. How did you find out? Did you request to test the levels? I know what you mean by craving all things carbs. I didnt eat carbs for years (I'm gluten-free plus I dont care for carbs much) but now all I'm craving is carbs and dairy (which I also dont consume). Ugh!

@eabrahamson my RE says first trimester ends when you hit 12 week mark. But I read online that some consider 13 week mark as the start of second trimester and some 14. It's really confusing.

thothscribe81 when I was 8 weeks I had to deal with nausea for a week, now its gone. But what really saved me during that week was eating lots of protein (every 2 hours) and using the sea-band wrist band. Its for motion sickness but I swear if I didnt use them I would have been sooo sick. As soon as I put them on I had no nausea. Try them out.

josiepasta  I had 2-3 days of brown spotting last weekend (I'm about 11 weeks). At first I was concerned but know that it is common (especially with IVF pregnancies) and is not an issue unless it turns red and there is cramping.

@Ilky my new OB ordered the glucose test because of my age. Glad she ordered it. Because I had no idea something was wrong.

And I also wasn’t big on carbs before. But it’s all I can think of now. :(

mag1cbeli3ver and @prudence9-2 Thank you ladies!

@kristimh80 thank you my friend! I hope to see you on this side real soon.  <3

@prudence9-2 I'm so happy that the baby caught up, but sorry to hear you have a high chance of down syndrome. Are you planning on doing any further diagnostic tests? I personally wont do any screening tests, since the results are not going to change my mind. I hope this news wont make you worry. As for the diabetes, I wish you good luck, I hope you can find food that are good for you and will keep you full longer.

I wanted to say hi and introduce myself  Although this round of ivf seemed really fast, my history here is much longer. I went through the infertility journey before and after many hurdles  I finally got pregnant with my son. I am still a new mom and am very involved with all the new stuff he's doing, but at the age of 44, I didn't want to wait any longer to have a 2nd child. I really wish I could. Even though I kind of know what to expect, I really wanted to go through this pregnancy with others that are going through the same  I still keep in touch with the other girls I went through this with last time. It was really helpful.

How far along are you? / EDD
I just got the call today! I was told I'm 4 weeks. I wasn't given an official due date yet, but it will like be the end on Jan or early Feb. The transfer date was 2 years and 5 days after my son's transfer date.

    How are you feeling?
I mainly feel very bloated. Appetite is
weird. I suddenly get very hungry and then I'm full once I eat

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
I have another bloodtest on Sun.

    Thoughts/Concerns?
I have a 16 month old that was also from ivf. I feel exactly the same as I did last time  so I pretty much knew before getting the call to confirm it. Although we do really want a 2nd child, I'm also nervous about having 2 children.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)
    I'm not sure yet.
  • @Ilky thanks. One of my goals for this weekend is to figure out snacks that I can eat. As I’m constantly hungry!

    @LynnNJ congrats on getting BFP!!! :) I’m also in the over 40 club ;) I’m 42.5

@prudence9-2 I am sorry to hear about your GD test results. I'm so nervous about mine.

    @LynnNJ Congratulations!!

@mag1cbeli3ver Mac and cheese is heavenly! I totally agree!

How far along are you? / EDD

    I am 11 weeks 3 days. Due 12.12.18

    How are you feeling?
I have felt worse this week than I have the entire pregnancy. 11 weeks is kicking my butt.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
I have a blood draw on Tuesday at my fertility doc because today was my last day for all of my hormones after a long weaning off process (yay!!). So they do a blood draw to make sure the placenta has taken over. And then on Thursday I have another appointment with my normal OB. It'll be my first trimester scan and then we can announce! Yahoo! Also, on the 7th I have an early glucose test which I am dreading. I don't know how I'll survive without carbs or sweets.

    Thoughts/Concerns?
I just am so ready to show and not just be awkwardly chubby. It feels like the not showing part of the pregnancy is dragging on like crazy.

    Questions:
I don't think I have any right now.

GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)
My favorite food is pizza no matter if I'm pregnant or not! But I am craving sweets during pregnancy which is very unusual for me. I'm currently baking a pie!
  • **lurking from 2nd tri**

@LynnNJ. Fellow non-gas-pumper over here!  ;)  Congrats on your BFP  FTM here, but we have more to transfer, so it's nice to see another STIVFM succeed!!! Yay!!!
  • Thanks @mamajudec2018 i hope you won’t have GD. It’s really a pain.

Right now the only way I can keep my numbers low is if I go for a walk or climb stairs after a meal. Otherwise my numbers are higher than what they want.

Im hungry a lot. And still, all I want is pizza and pasta! Ahh. But it is what it is. And I have to deal with it.  :#

    How are you feeling?
    Nervous as all get out!
    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
    June 4th
    Thoughts/Concerns?
Literally panicked about everything. After being told by docs it would basically take IVF to make things work, we took a break from docs and magically got BFP. Still hard to believe and trust everything g is ok!
    Questions:
Who else is as nervous as me? Without tests beyond hormone levels it’s hard not to worry.
GTKY: What is your favorite food to make or buy? (Normally, or during pregnancy!)
    Pasta!

  • Hi Everyone. Sad news here. My husband and I just went for our first ultrasound.
We were confident on our ovulation and last period date -- we'd be 6 weeks and 4-5 days. They did an ultrasound and saw the yolk sac but didn't see a fetal pole. He said based on our dates, it looked like the embryo stopped growing last week around 5 weeks and the sac is degenerating already.
He said he was 100% confident in this but if we wanted one more ultrasound next week if we don't miscarry on our own, they'll do that.
It's so devastating. Like any good news is just too good to be true and we're just destined for heartbreak.
Does anyone have or had experience with this?

    @manders85-2
Unexplained IF here -- I had a miscarriage in 2016 that was very similar to your experience -- it was a surprise natural BFP, beta levels all looked good, but when we went for the first ultrasound, it just wasn't progressing normally and only about 5-6 weeks (when I should have been 8-10 weeks) My RE noted an oversized yolk sac that he said is a sign of genetic abnormalities. Our FET in fall 2017 also had a vanishing twin with similar markers and timeline. That being said, while extremely disappointing after soooo much time waiting, our RE felt that we should look at the miscarriage as a positive sign. I -can- get pregnant and it would seem the issue is largely with getting the right embryo implanted, which is why he felt we would be extremely successful with IVF.

I chose to miscarry naturally rather than D/C which might risk scar tissue.

And while we did have a vanishing twin in our FET (which is pretty common according to the doctor), Embryo A is now an almost 10 week old little girl who is absolutely perfect. And now I'm tearing up

You will -always- have that feeling of the shoe waiting to drop, unfortunately. Even women I know who don't have IF issues feel the same nerves after a miscarriage. I basically refused to let myself believe I was actually going to wind up with a baby until they put her in my arms. It's hard to cope with at times, especially when pregnancy is such a positive and joyous experience for so many women, but it's unfortunately normal :-(

  • @manders85-2 I’m so sorry to hear that!!!

after my first transfer the embryo stopped growing at 6w 1d. It did have a HB but not strong. And the following week at 7w 4d we knew it was def not viable. I opted for natural m/c. But when that didn’t happen I had an MUA at 9w 3d (over 3 weeks after embryo stopped growing!!)

MUA is similar to d&c. But they just give you local anesthesia and pain killers thru IV. So you’re awake for that.

In my case the embryo was PGS normal. And we confirmed it was normal after the MUA.

Regardless, it’s never easy. Sending you hugs.

Question to the group. Has any of you experienced severe headache/migraines during pregnancy? It started 3 days ago and continuing non-stop through the night. Right now its bearable but I hope it wont come back. It was so severe.
