Just met with our Realtor to put our condo on the market. More purging and decluttering to do still! It is stressful but I got to keep reminding myself that this is our last move to our forever home we have built as our dream home.

@chyvie That's so exciting!! Congrats! And good luck getting rid of stuff, have a yard sale so you're not trashing most of it! That's what I tell my mom so she doesn't feel as bad getting rid of stuff sense it's going to someone else's home(:
Yay for being in a nesting mood! Got up at 5 with DH but didn’t go back to bed like usual. My bathroom is bleached and it smells amazing!! I was even responsible and wore gloves which I HATE. Kitchen is spotless and bleached, everything is vacuumed, floors are all washed by hand and it’s only 11:00! Next on the list is shampooing the carpet in the living room and our bedroom. I try to do the main living area once a month-ish so it doesn’t smell because of my PITA dog but it’s been at least 2 months. I might even get to my filthy car today!
H and I moved 2 weeks ago, and we finally got the living room set up. No more boxes! We just have a few pictures to hang. This move was much easier than our last. We only a few boxes left in the hallway. The last hurdle is our bedroom and the nursery area.
@mamabearcj I’ll pass. I’m exhausted now! I still need to make dinner but ugh. Nothing but chipotle sounds good. I do make a decent copycat version but I don’t want to make a grocery run for cilantro.
@jynjer91 reasonable! I just went to get so large fixings for lasagna for this weekend. Thankfully my dad is cooking it because I just can't do it as well and he makes it over the fire so I'm super excited for that
I have (finally) decided on a doula. That was too freaking hard. Which kind of decided it for me. I super liked two of the women I interviewed, but one made it easy, and the other was hard to schedule with.
I should listen to my Mom when she says “Don’t overdo.”

The contractors arrived this morning to start my bathroom remodel. In the last 18hrs, I have picked up all the dust collectors, taken down my pictures and paintings, removed the area rugs, covered my cabinets, relocated my cat and her related supplies to my guest bedroom, moved all the things I need for the next three weeks to the same area of the house, and sealed it off.
This is potentially overkill, but I really had about three more things on the to-do list. My house is about 100yrs old, and I am a bit paranoid about lead paint dust. In other news, in three weeks, I will have a beautiful and functional new bathroom.
@knottieamusements I'm super jealous. Redoing the bathrooms is on my list of projects for my house. Unfortunately it's probably not going to happen since we plan on selling next summer and have some other projects in line that will have a much higher ROI. You'll have to post up some before and after photos so I can live vicariously through you.
This has been on my project list for about four years. I finally decided I needed to do it before baby comes or not do it at all. (Only one bathroom in the house, and no plans to move.)
I will definitely post up before/ after shots for you!
@knottieamusements excited to see your pictures! We too have one bathroom and it needs some updating before baby is here. Dh is hoping to do some/most of the work... So we will see!
We ordered all our furniture!!! Its is being delivered within the next 3 weeks so I get to start setting up. Also my MIL bought us our ridiculous stroller and I am so EXCITED. I completely cleaned out the bathroom closet, the pantries in my kitchen, my downstairs closet and my closet. Nesting is in full swing.
@kiwi2628 - That is so awesome! I did a lot more moving of stuff than I actually needed to so I can self-excuse all the nesting cleaning.
@SweetSweetTooth - I’m actually taking out a linen closet and moving plumbing, so no way would I try to do it myself! But I am so excited for the finished room!
Got the garage cleaned out and organized yesterday. So now there’s finally room for the deep freezer my mom got me for my birthday. Excited to have a place to start stockpiling freezer meals and storage for breastmilk (last time it took up halfback my freezer).
Not my accomplishment, but I have to share.... E passed all his classes and is graduating high school this coming Saturday!!!
It was real close guys. This poor kid is SO bad at school and every day is a struggle. His mom put him on a 5 year program when he was a freshman to try and help him. Well he was MAD about it and determined to graduate with his friends. He worked his butt off to catch up.
As this last semester started winding down, he found out he was failing 3 classes. He had to pass one to walk in the graduation ceremony and he had to pull all 3 up to get his diploma. E tends to give up when he feels like he failed, so I've been so scared that if he didn't get his diploma with his friends, he would just get job and give up on his education. Well he worked harder than I've ever seen him in the last 6 weeks and passed by the skin of his teeth. He pulled his Spanish up from a 34% to a 70%!
Last day of school was last Wednesday. When he left school, he knew he could walk in the ceremony but was waiting on one last teacher to grade a project to see if he would get his diploma. Well that teacher just emailed H today to let him know E was done!! He doesn't know yet, I wonder how long H is going to torture him before he tells him!!
I took my dog to my parents over the long weekend so I could crash with Guncle. He lives in the lap of luxery with two bathrooms.
It took me a while to decide to do that, but it will be easiest in the long run. And my dog is much happier at my parents than he would have been with boarding during demolition. (I was planning to be out of the house for that regardless of other arrangements.)
Also, my dog is making friends with my parents’ cat:
ETA: I just realized I totally talked about my dog rather than the toilet situation... I’ll be peeing at Guncle’s. I don’t even want to know where the contractors are peeing...
I successfully cleaned out all of my closets and put away my winter clothes/clothes I won't wear until post baby! I ended up donating 6 garbage bags of clothes to good will and packing up another 9 tupperwares of clothes to be used post baby (hopefully!) It's so nice to put laundry away when your closets aren't filled to the brim and unorganized! OCD level 1000000
@babyptobe I have to do that!! DH has more clothes Than I do and getting him to toss any is like pulling teeth!! I have plenty i won't wear for a while so I'm hoping next seeking Maybe I can get him to go through it
@mamabearcj Ugh, mine too! He has so much and always wears the same 10 shirts. I've asked him to clean out the things he doesn't wear probably 4 times in the past year and he just won't do it.
I'm hoping DH will clean out all his gross t-shirts he would wear when he was working the line. Now that he's got a desk job and has to dress nicely, he needs the room.
H finally went through his clothes! Only because we're moving, I've been asking for about 3 billion years. But he got rid of about 2/3s of what he had! Woo. We've been parring down a lot, but we still have way too much stuff in general. And he has yetto go through all the electronic crap we have. We have way more than necessary. I'm sure a great deal is now obsolete .
@SawyerRichardson we might be married to the same man!! Lol DH has a million shirts, wears literally 8 to work, the rest he claims are "sleep shirts" he doesn't even sleep in a shirt!?
To be fair...I have "plastic resealable containers for food" that are Rubbermaid brand.. so perhaps Tupperware makes "large plastic containers for household injects" too
