Last night I finally got my porch planters done. I realized Tuesday the flowers were looking rough (I bought them last Friday) and they needed to get in their pots and watered.
I got my living room painted, stair railings painted, and repaired my bed frame! I have a to do list of things around the house I want to get done and have knocked those three off this week/this past weekend.
Up next on the list for this coming weekend is getting a new mattress and hopefully getting my garden started before I have to leave next week to a training workshop for the week.
I accomplished flying home from Salt Lake City to Boston while pregnant with a two year old by myself. Luckily DD was super well behaved and patient. I couldn't have asked for an easier trip.
I cleaned my car!! After practically living in it for a month It had to be done.. got mom and MIL their gifts for this weekend, going to the dump today cleaning the house a bit for a girls night my mom does with her friends once a month tonight! Not a lot but I take everyday as it is lol
Eh, partially cleaned a small closet? Weeded my crap down and now DH has to work on his portion. He always said I had so much stuff in there but I am pretty sure he has more (before I cleaned any of my stuff out).
Been on the road for about six days now (going home tomorrow!). My big accomplishments are keeping up with my water intake (even though Florida water tasty yucky) and reading my estate planning documents. I just need to compile my comments and send them back to the lawyer. Hopefully, I will be able to sign them here in the next couple of weeks and have it completely checked off my to-do list.
I’m kind of jealous of all these accomplishments. I just keep adding things to the to do list and not checking any of it off. Maybe I should just make an easier list - things that don’t involve putting up fences, fixing siding, getting on the roof or replacing bathroom fixtures... you know - reasonable pregnant lady projects.
My accomplishments for the week- I got the house cleaned and put winter boots and jackets in the basement. I also got my pregnancy announcement ready to go for after we give our moms their gifts Sunday that will tell them we are having a girl!
I didn’t yell at the receptionist/ultrasound tech/random people when my 1030 ultrasound appointment didn’t happen until 1230 (after working a night shift and having a fetal echo at 0800). No sleep + no lunch made for a grumpy me, but I didn’t take it out on other people.

Also- what has helped me is breaking big projects down into smaller doable projects. So, instead of “getting yard ready for summer”, I had get out hoses, rake leaves, clean out stairwell, buy plants, get out pots, plant plants.
I still have “weed terraces” on the list. Unfortunately that is a big project, and I just don’t wanna.
My backyard garden bed looks horrible with weeds. I hate looking at it, but I know it probably wont' get weeded this summer. Which really sucks after I put so much effort into it last year. My front bed has this horrible weed that has shot up like crazy. I really need to get to it.
My accomplishment is this week I hired a doula, picked a pediatrician and sent out baby shower invites (my mother is technologically incapable so I helped her with it) and cleaned out the babies closet. Feeling accomplished!

Sometimes, making dinner is an accomplishment!
We’ve gone out to eat every night this week because of my inability to make dinner.
@knottieamusements They are actually pretty “small” already - caulk the skylight, replace the siding piece that the fence broke, buy a wooden fence post and somehow get it home with a Toyota Yaris, repair the fence... the problem is that I don’t have the vehicle to get the stuff we need, or I’m too short to do stuff without getting on a ladder (a questionable undertaking for me when my center of balance is normal), or the fence weighs 100lbs and I can’t physically get it back in place... ok, I may have exaggerated the weight, but I still can’t lift it and it’s a foot taller than I am. The only one I could do is fix the bathroom sink, but MH & his friend are going to have to take it back out to finish the bathroom remodel anyway, so that one would be wasted effort right now.
I did wash half the dirty dishes today, so I’ll count that! Who knows, maybe I’ll get ambitious and finish the other half too
I finally went through DS’s dresser to put away the old clothes that don’t fit him anymore so that we have room for his new clothes that do. And I put away the piles of clothes that have literally been sitting on my rocking chair in my room for at least two months! My room looks kind of barren now, but I call that an accomplishment!
@knottieamusements yeah, I just need to make a more reasonable list and hope the neighbor doesn’t get mad about the fence not getting fixed soon.
I still have to weed too. But a cat pooped all over the front bed & random neighbor’s outdoor cat’s poop + pregnancy doesn’t sound like a risk I want to take. Seriously considering getting some of that weed blocking fabric and just putting it over everything except the big plants and then mulching over it. Solves the weed problem and the poop problem... I just won’t be able to plant any flowers ever again (you know, or I guess cut holes in the fabric next year when/if I get around to planting flowers). I’m also kind of waiting to see if the cat peeing on our shrubs killed 2 of them... I kind of hate those cats (there’s a couple and I don’t know which one is responsible so I hate them all).
@tinattt23 I feel like everything is cleaner when DH is away! Harder to get out of the house on time but everything else is easier with him away is that bad?!
I presented at a well respected conference yesterday! My presentation went pretty well and I felt like I did a good job breaking down complex legal concepts for a mixed audience. Most of all I felt like I educated a lot of people on an important topic (relating to immigration and the crim justice system.) And I managed to go for a run and eat delicious tacos (im in Southern California.) So yeah....feeling accomplished
Did all the laundry. Ran out of hangers so I started purging old things that will never again fit/I’ll never wear. An hour later and the entire closet and dresser had been cleaned out. Two garbage bags of donate and one of trash.
Apparently my lack of accomplishments has been partly due to not sleeping well. MH left yesterday morning for his work trip so I had more room in the bed last night and woke up feeling great!
So far today I got all the dishes done, cleaned the kitchen counters, took out the trash and the recycling, started laundry, refilled all the soap dispensers, & got the kids to preschool on time... it’s only 10:30 and I don’t feel like I need a nap yet.
I had no idea I was sleeping so poorly. I may tell him he has has to sleep on the couch for the next 5 months.
I feel like I got a ton accomplished this weekend, and yet still had relaxing time too! I did 3 loads of laundry, cleaned up all of DS’s toys/tidied up, made pie crust for chicken pot pie, made homemade cinnamon rolls and even baked two loaves of sourdough bread! Stocked the freezer with one of the loaves of bread and 6 of the cinnamon rolls, so those will be nice treats later on when I’m feeling lazier!
We have to have some work done in our master bedroom, so we used it as an opportunity to buy some real bedroom furniture. So, over the weekend, I cleaned out all of the old stuff, cleaned out our closets, and (with DH and my brother's help) got rid of all the old furniture. I felt so accomplished. And exhausted.
This past Saturday, I took the dog for a 6 mile walk, made our weekly dinner menu and grocery list, bought seeds and added dirt to my vegetable garden so I can plant this weekend. I'm excited to have a garden for a second year now!

Picked up a growing pile of dirty laundry on our floor, did 3 loads of laundry total! Went to my appointment with DH today and scheduled the anatomy scan for next week! Adding more to the registry and slowly checking things off the list!
I tackled 4 loads of laundry that have been piling up in our guest room, created our registry and picked out all of the "big" things we want. I almost bought our nursery furniture Saturday but forgot, then went to do it Sunday, and Target's 20% off sale went away... so now I'm holding out for another sale.
GL to all of you who are moving! I’m having nightmares/flashbacks just thinking about moving after doing a cross country move followed by another move into our house a few months later last year! Couldn’t imagine doing that pregnant, so kudos to you all!

Having some energy back is the best!
Boring, but needed to get done.

That counts, right?!
I graded a fat stack of essays! Yay! Those things were sitting on my desk for a month!
