We had names picked out from before we had a loss so its actually really easy for us. Allison for a girl, Ally for short. Vincent for our boys name. All the nicknames. It flows really well with our last name, actually they both do. My H's nickname from his best friend is Vinny (H's name isn't even close to this, its a totally random nickname), we have been calling future LO mini Vinny for forever and we decided we liked it for real. We have been calling our Future LO baby Ally or mini Vinny since last year. I am excited to make it a reality. Happy no matter which way it goes.
@galactickates it's so nice already having a name picked out. Before we ttc, we had our girl name -Jacqueline Lily. So when we found out baby was a girl it was so simple. Now a boy name?? We can't decide for the life of us. DH doesn't like many names ( in fact I can't even think of 1 name that he likes). If we have another girl, we will have to come up with one. But we were watching a show and the girl had an unusual but classic ( like Jacqueline) name and we both liked it! So I need to figure out what show we were watching and what name it was.
@galactickates - I like your names! I actually have a good friend named Vinnie. The name definitely suits him (and i hope it fits your little bean!)
As for us, we have a split deal - DH names if it's a boy, I name if it's a girl. DH wanted to name the baby after a friend of his who passed away when DH was in middle school, so baby boy will be Brian. A girl will either be Charlotte Anne (I've had this name picked out since I was 9 years old, definitely no trendy Princess Kate bandwagon) or Cecilia Jane (after our grandmothers).
DH and I picked out names before we even started TTC with #1. We had a girl first so used the girl name, Lilah Elyse.
If we have a boy, we've always known he would be James Robert III (we would call him James most likely, maybe Jamie as a baby).
Lilah was the only girl name we agreed on so since we started TTC this go round we've been trying to think I girl names again. We want to use the name Anne or Anna. Maybe Clara Anne or Anna Claire. We both like those but aren't sure yet.
@catlady2015 Charlotte had been my girl's name since forever. It's my grandmother's middle name and I've always loved it. H vetoed it, maybe we'll use as a middle name IDK. It's really pretty though.
For a boy, probably Michael or Zachary and the middle name will be Charles after my grandfather. I really want Charles (Charley) to be the first name but I just know my brothers will call him Chucky just to annoy me.
For a girl, either Miranda (a name I liked when I was pregnant with DS) or Audrey (a name I really like right now). The middle name will be Elizabeth which my middle name.
We want to name the kid after my father who passed away, his name was Michael. But I don’t love a lot of M names...or if I do we know someone whose got that name so it’s tough! Also our last name is M so idk if I love the alliteration!
First names for my father Michael: boy: Micah, Max, Myles, Milo girl: Molly, Madeline, Magnolia (Maggie for short), Micah (sounds gender neutral to me)
Middle names for my wife’s deceased grandfather Joseph: Boy: James, Julian (I love this and wife doesn’t!), Jacob, Jules Girl: Jo, Josephine, Jolie, Jane, Jules
Another option...my wife’s first name is technically one letter: H. So we could name the kid “M Something” and carry on the tradition!
Girl: M...Eliza, Stella, Charlotte, Luca...or any of the J names Boy: M...Theodore (teddy), Luca, Henry...or any of the J names
its hard to name a person!!!!

When I was pregnant with DD, H and I had one girl’s name we were absolutely in love with and has wanted to use since we started dating back in high school. We didn’t like a ton of other girls names so it took us FOREVER to come up with a middle name for her.
We have a couple of boys names we’re considering: Everett, Emmet, Easton (we apparently like E names). Girl names: NO IDEA!
Middle name for a boy will be James (both of our fathers first names as well as my grandfathers first name).
We wanted a middle name for a girl to be Lynn (H’s moms name and my moms middle name) BUT our last name starts with ‘Ly’ and it doesn’t really flow well. So idk!

We’ve had names picked out for awhile. DH was named for both of his grandfathers so we would do the same for a boy. It would be Alejandro Michael. We’re going with our grandmothers names for a girl (so baby’s great grandmothers). It would be Joan Frances.
I've had names picked for either since I was pregnant last spring. We change for boys a little but for a girl I'm pretty confident it will be Elinor Rose. Nora for short. For a boy we have a few. We like Thomas, Peter, Michael, and Alexander. But I'm leaning towards Thomas. I think it's nice and common but not overused. People can't misspell it and they won't struggle with pronunciation. Those are all important to me even though my girl name is not the more common spelling of the name. I'm all about classics so I think those fit with our Elizabeth and our Isaac.
We want to name the kid after my father who passed away, his name was Michael. But I don’t love a lot of M names...or if I do we know someone whose got that name so it’s tough! Also our last name is M so idk if I love the alliteration!

My good friend from my May 14 board has a magnolia (Maggie). Love it.
I’ve liked the name Dorn Blythe for a girl since I was in college. We may or may not keep the middle name, but if it’s a girl she’ll be Dorn. No clue for a boy!
We'll most likely use Michael Theodore for a boy (after FIL and my grandfather). No idea on girl's name, except I want to use Marie as the middle name, since it's both mine and my mom's middle name. I was liking Elena the other day but one of DH's cousins is already Elena Marie and it seems like a bit much to use the same first and middle name as a relative if you're not intentionally naming him/her after that person.
Only thing I know for sure is I want to stay away from D names. DH and I both have names beginning with D and I don't want to get into a Duggar situation where we feel like we have to keep using the same letter so nobody feels left out.
DH and I are going to have a hell of a time coming up with a boy’s name after using our two favourites for DS! I love Dylan, but DH is less than convinced that’s a keeper... hopefully I can break him For a girl we love Lauren for a first name and either Daphne or Kate for a middle name.
I’ve been pretty set on Violet for a girl’s name....middle name is subject to change but I’m leaning towards Elizabeth. For a boy my husband loves Samson and it’s really growing on me. I’d use Foster (my deceased grandmother’s maiden name) as the middle name.
I’m a little concerned about pressure we might get from DH’s family if we end up having a boy. He is a Jr. and really adamant about not keeping that tradition going so hopefully his parents don’t get their feelings hurt. Its totally not our reason, but I’m Jewish and it’s a superstition that naming a baby after a living relative is bad luck so I can always play that card if we get any flack.
It took DH and I forever to pick a name for our first. In my younger days, I used to think I would only want to use unusual names for my children and would never go with something traditional. But we decided on Wyatt for our son, and I love it.
This time around, I'm thinking Raylan for a boy. I fell in love with that name after binge watching Justified. I'd like to use one of our grandfather's names for the middle name - so maybe Foster, Samuel, Talmadge, or Noel.
For a girl, I don't know. Maybe Elliot or Eleanor. I'd like to use Antoinette (or Antonia) for the middle name. Marie Antoinette is my favorite historical figure, and I have always thought her second name was pretty in either form. Don't know if DH will go for that, though.
Girl: Evan Elizabeth Marie Boy: Caden James Gordon I had these names picked out for awhile. I'm really hoping for a girl, because I really love the name Evan (Westworld fanatic).
I have absolutely no idea. We have a boy name picked out but according to the ring test (which has been right so far) I’m having a girl. DS is Johnny Danger and DD is Charlotte Jane, we call her Charli. Boy DH picked out Max Power (why does he talk me into these crazy names?) I like Andi for a girl but DH turned that down and I can’t get him to give me normal responses when I ask what he thinks. He suggested Taco last night. It’s a good thing we have a long time to decide!
My wife and I have conceived a babe with my body and frozen donor sperm through IUI, with medication support (clomid, ovidrel, and injections of progesterone) IUI #1, #2, and #3: Dec 2017, Jan 2018, and Feb 2018 - all BFN HSG Test: April 2018 - all clear! @rooonilwaazlib I hope I can explain it well. You put some thread through your ring and hold it up above your wrist or palm, if it circles it’s thinking, if it starts to move in a line towards your fingers and elbow it’s a boy and if it moves in a line thumb to pinky it’s a girl. So when I do it it looks like this circle, fingers to elbow, circle, thumb to pinky, circle, thumb to pinky and then just circles.
We love the name Prudence (nickname Prue) and Rhiannon for a girl. I also love Harriet for my great grandmother, but DH vetoed it.
For boys I love Charles Wayne after my dad and DH’s grandfather. But I also like Nicolas after my favorite saint. Especially with a winter baby.
Being a teacher makes choosing names hard! So many names got thrown out because of former students of both DH and mine. Forget finding something that works with our other two kids’ names.

I was talking to my work bestie who is due the third week in December and she told me she and her husband came up with girl names. One of them was Eleanor. That's our for sure not budging name. I told her that was our name too and it would be fun if we both had Eleanor just a few weeks apart.
DH and I don't agree on many names because he is so stubborn with them (which is weird because he's so easy going with everything else in life). Current frontrunner for a girl is Josephine (Josie). Eleanor is also on the list but DH said it reminds him of a Ford so he's not sure. Our girl name since DS was born has been Victoria which I love, but hate all the nicknames for, so I think we'll use it as a middle name (we basically only use nicknames for our kids so I can't name them something with awful short forms).
Boy names we have trouble with. My top two are Charles and Maxwell (Charlie/Chuck and Max). DH's top choice is Michael, which is a perfectly nice name, but being an 80's kid, EVERYONE was named Michael so it doesn't really feel "special" to me. I'm happy to use it as a middle name, though.

@DarkSerendipity my fav girl name is Evangeline with the nn Evan. DH vetoed it SOOOoooo hard with our DD. If we are having another girl I will push for it again.... @kaf1788 I LOVE the name Violet. My DH veto'd that too with DD. I may try to push it again too
Our boy name we've always had picked, Felix James. Felix is DH's grandfather's name and the last name of his BFF. James is my father and grandfather's name.
If we have another girl it will be a REAL challenge.....
I have ZERO ideas. DD is Olivia, so it would need to work with her name. Her middle name is also very unique (and a family name), so I'd love to find a family name for a middle name for this one too. I'm not sure we will think too much about it until we know what we are having, though. Last time, we never even came up with a boys name we could agree on before we found out she is a girl.
I have some thoughts for sure but I know DH won’t entertain the conversation until we’re much closer to the EDD (like w DD). DD is Nora Evie... we loved Nora for a while but had to pull Evie out of ...thin air.. just before we got discharged from the hospital. Our boy name last time was Nolan and we still love it but it’s a little twinny with DD which seems weird. So there’s no boy name. We struggle to land on something pronounceable and easy to spell while still being “different”. Girl name I think is Penny with no idea on the middle name. But for now ... and until he/she comes out, we’re calling it Joey. Don’t want to risk “spoiling” the real name by overusing it now not like we’re going to be using it for the rest of their life or anything!!
My DD is Violet and my DS is Vincent (or Vinny). Were gonna have to keep up with the “V” tradition here lol. My mom is Vivian and my FIL is Vito, were team green this time so were gonna keep it simple and go with one of our parents names. V is a hard letter!
We have boy and girl names. It’s a tradition in my family that the women make their maiden names their middle names when they marry, so I want to play on that a bit by giving our kids family middle names from the get go.
For a boy, we like Henry John. John is the name of DH’s father who passed when DH was young.
For a girl, we like Sloane Matthews. Matthews is the surname of my grandfather and grandmother who were/are very special to me, and she’d also share her middle name with my mother which makes me a little mushy already.

I always wanted to use Anna Catherine but DH's late father has some weird family dynamics with his sisters, most of which have names I love but can't use because FIL would haunt us (Evelyn, Carolyn, Catherine).
I also like the name Mary Anna but DH and I want our kids to go by their given first names since neither of us do and it's a pain and he's on the fence about Mary.
I keep waffling on our girl name because we just knew with Lilah that was the name we loved and now we don't know.
Our last name starts with G and my husband is a GG. My son’s name is Grayden, so he’s another GG. If it’s a boy, we may stick to another G name like Garrett but G’s are tough. Any ideas, please share! Otherwise, it will probably be Joseph Parker (JP).
For girls, there are so many: Eliana, Olivia, Anna, or Genevieve (nickname either Ginny or Evie).
