  • @purplegoldfish2 I get so excited when I have a plan-free weekend!
  • @sammierose464 That almost never happens around here and apparently won’t be next weekend either, oops!  But I agree, plan free weekends are great, probably because they happen so rarely!!

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)? 17 weeks tomorrow. Z is 18 months and E is 17 years.

Rants/raves/questions? I'm dealing with toddler tantrums, teenage angst, and pregnancy hormones all at once!!! Send help!!

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend? Z had soccer practice, but other than that we all just relaxed. Z's turning back into a mama's boy now that H is back to work full time and I have a love/hate relationship with it still. Lol

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend? E will be at his mom's and H will be working every day but Sunday again. So I need to start thinking of things to get me and Z our of the house or I'll go crazy!!

    E will be 18 on July 24th
    Z was born October 16, 2016

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)?
    16+1 weeks, DS1 is 7, DS2 and DD are 4.

    Rants/raves/questions?
I’m still super tired. All. The. Time.

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
My ILs watched the kids Saturday evening (and DS1 stayed overnight) so DH and Inhad a date night. The twins had a friend’s birthday party Sunday.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
I’ll be working Nights next weekend.

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)? 15+4 today. DS is 2

    Rants/raves/questions?
I’m seriously avoiding trying to start potty training DS, even though I know we should. He’s definitely showing signs that he’s ready, and even tells us when he’s peeing or pooping sometimes (in his diaper), but I just have no clue how to start and it’s making me feel so overwhelmed. I feel like I’ve asked this here before, but any tips/advice/words of encouragement?

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
My mom is in town this week, so we hung out with her all weekend and did a lot of eating (see always go out to eat a lot more when she’s in town). She watched DS for us on Saturday night, so DH and I were able to have a nice date night too! Also did some baking last night, which I always love to find time for on the weekends if I can.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
Not really at the moment. My mom will be gone by then, so hopefully we can just relax during the weekend.  Hopefully the weather’s nice so that we can do stuff outside too!

sammierose464 Are you selling or just shopping at the JBF?  Once we know the sex of this little one I may start purging the baby depot in my basement.....I've always wondered about selling at JBF

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @MissBridg - Just shopping. Most of what I have for SS is clothes and we will now start saving that for this baby since it's also a boy. I mainly want to check out maternity clothes. I had never heard of it until recently when a friend mentioned it.
  • How far along and how many other children do you have and how old are they?

17.3 weeks 1 DS thats turning 7 months this week

Rants/raves/questions? Why is parenting so hard? My son is fussy all the time because he's bored its so hard to keep him entertained. He wants a new thing to grab every 5 minutes.

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
Had my gender ultrasound then gender reveal then went to a bonfire on saturday. Sunday was dealing with an ovetired baby that woke up early on Saturday and didnt nap because other people kept passing him around. Sunday was not a good day..

    Any plans for next weekend?
Enjoy my last 2 days off before I go back to work for 5 months. Probably go visit my mom. I visit her every weekend.

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)?

    16 weeks 2 days

    i have a just turned 18mo DDand a almost 3.5yr old DS

Rants/raves/questions? I'm just still getting randomly queasy and I'm over it. If I continuously say I'm kind of ok, but I also feel overly full. Doesn't seem like there's any winning. I have been feeling baby move a lot which is so fun!!!

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend? I had my SIL over with my niece for a play date (niece is 16 days older than my DD) and then we had a 1 yr old birthday party. Yesterday we just hung out as s family.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend? Neighbors are having a cinco de mayo party where I can't drink but oh well. DH and I kind of hate the weekends. He has such weird hours that he's home a lot, so we like to be out during the week. When everyone's home it's so busy and we get overwhelmed lolol #spoiled

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)?
14W 3D and my son will be 2 in July

    Rants/raves/questions?
Just loving that it's finally getting warm out!

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
Went to a tea party themed bridal shower and the zoo.  Love spending time outside now that it's getting nicer.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
SIL is coming into town, so we are celebrating my MIL's birthday and Mother's Day for her.
  • @purplegoldfish2 I drank the tea with both my other two at the direction of my midwife along with some awful tasting ‘mothers mix’ that had a bunch of stuff that supposedly helped prep for birth. I can’t say if it made a difference or not but overall both my labours were fairly easy (although long) so I will do it again this time. I don’t remember when I started but I want to say way later - like 34-36 weeks or something around there?

How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)? Just over 14 weeks - DD is 7, DS is 4.

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend? Saturday we cleaned and arranged our bedroom and got the baby’s corner stared with the crib and change table set up and piled up all the stuff we have gotten so far (along with the few things we kept from the other two). I am feeling so prepared this time - probably because we won’t be doing a formal nursery this time until after baby is here and we decide who is going where.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend? Next weekend DD is at camp with her Brownie troupe and DH/DS are planning to go camping so I get a weekend alone! I am planning on hitting up our community garage sale Saturday and then likely visiting with my sister before going to bed early!

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)?
Almost 15 weeks. DS is 16 months.

    Rants/raves/questions?
The toddler is broken this week. He's a wreck. I want my happy kid back.

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
Nothing too exciting. Errands. Cleaning. Did get out to lunch with a friend I haven't been able to see in while.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
Last weekend before DH goes out of town for a week. So I plan of milking his help while I still have it. Hopefully it'll be nice and we can send most of our time outside.
  • @jennybean80 I’m sorry you’re so tired. That was the worst part of my pregnancy last time. I think it’s a twin thing - TW one of my losses was likely twins (they couldn’t tell for sure on the early ultrasound) and I had the extreme exhaustion for that one, so I believe it. The other losses and this one I haven’t been nearly as tired. End TW

@pumpkinpancake Get him excited about using the potty, tell him he needs to tell you before he goes in his pants, put him in new “big boy” underwear (not thick training underwear) and just do it.

@elothair Thanks!  I was actually looking up spearmint tea to help with acne and came across the red raspberry leaf tea.  The recommendations varied, from drink it throughout to wait until second tri or 16 or 20 weeks.  I vaguely remember other moms talking about taking it later like you did during my last pregnancy. That one was a planned c-section so I never looked into it since I wasn’t going to be in labor, but my last m/c was kind of rough and has me scared about actual labor. I’d prefer short and easy, but long and easy is better than any length and hard!

  • @purplegoldfish2 It could definitely be the twins thing. I know I was more tired with my other twins than with my singleton, but was never sure if it was just because I was chasing an energetic 2 year old around!

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)? 14 weeks. DS just turned 2 at the beginning of this month.

Rants/raves/questions? Currently going through the phase of not having any pregnancy symptoms and it makes me nervous. The same thing happened to me in the second tri last time and everything turned out fine, but it still makes me on edge. Our next apt is a week away, so hearing a heartbeat then will definitely put me at ease, but that seems so far away!

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend? worked out and went to the zoo!

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend? cinco de maya birthday party and prepping for the following week which has DH's birthday and our dog's birthday to celebrate!
  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)? 14w2d, and 15m

Rants/raves/questions? Doing ok. Molar teething off and on, so that's fun. But things are going ok.

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend? We have 1 day as a family, I worked the other and H did a yard sale. The rest of my weekend will be prepping for the week and getting stuff together.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend? Similar to @norahkate were moving - so slowly - so I'll be packing. There is no set timeline, but I want to go sooner rather than later.
  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)?
    I’m 14+4 today. 2 other kids A (4) and E (16m)

    Rants/raves/questions?
I’m so exhausted today and have no patience for anyone! The plan is to get the kids in bed at 8 and I’ll go to bed at the same time! *fingers crossed*

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
Saturday we had a play date with my local Mom’s group, which was fun. We then went home and relaxed. Then Sunday we spent the day at Disneyland. E was so adorable on Small World! She’s becoming so aware of the things around her and she was riding it like it was the very first time she was seeing things!

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
No, thank goodness! We just have to go visit my uncle at the hospital at some point so it’ll be nice and relaxing.

How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)?
16w4d. I have two others - 4 year old DD, 2 year old DS.

    Rants/raves/questions?
My kids have been sleeping in my bed again so I haven’t been sleeping. Also they both started daycare last Monday, so DS has been sick basically nonstop.

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
We went to DD’s t-ball game on Saturday. Yesterday we took pictures to announce the baby’s sex and bought DD a new car seat (DS’s will be next) so that we can actually fit 3 across in my car. I also did a ton of laundry because it’s never-freaking-ending.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
Nothing at all. Except more laundry.

So happy the weather is finally getting nice!!

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?
DS1 had a soccer game and went to an arcade with a classmate. I ran errands and didn't catch up on laundry like planned.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
I really need to start/finish my gardening for the spring

  • @mommy2ane how us taking a toddler to Disney? We are strongly considering taking SS next year for his 8th b-day. Baby will be 13 months approx when we go.
  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)? 17+4. DD is 16 months

    Rants/raves/questions?
I’m bummed out anatomy scan was pushed out a week past when OB wanted to schedule since she is going on vacation and has no openings the week before. We are scheduled for May 31st instead of May 21. *plays small violin*

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend?

Lots of outdoors stuff with DD. She is obsessed with being outside right now, and the weather is nice so I don’t mind. We played with bubbles, chalk, dirt, and took a few walks. We also did swim lessons.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend?
We are having a friend over to watch the Kentucky derby and eat tacos.

I know you asked someone else, but I hope you don’t mind me talking about our experience. :)

We took DS when he was 11 months old, and he LOVED it. There were a bunch of rides that he could go on, and he did fine on all of them. He had fun watching the parade and meeting Mickey, and he napped in the stroller when he needed to. He lasted two full days with no problem.

We’re taking him next month, and I’m a little nervous about it because he’s walking now, and he wants to walk everywhere on his own. Last time, he was much more content with being in the stroller and being held. Anyway, I’m still super excited to go, even though I can’t go on any of the big rides.
  • @sammierose464 we took DD at 13 months and she loved it! A compact stroller that reclines for naps was a lifesaver. And characters were hit or miss. Surprisingly, toddlers can go on a bunch of rides, so as long as your LO is okay with sitting during rides you should have fun (we got in trouble on Winnie the Pooh and it’s a small world since DD wanted to stand near the end. Unloading can take a long time in the eyes of a toddler!)

@sammierose464 I’ve been taking E since she was 6 weeks old and she can get on a good majority of the rides. He’ll be able to ride all the rides in Fantasyland, and rides like the Haunted Mansion, Pirates, and Jungle Cruise (there are more).

The bigger rides we ride switch so A is able to get on rides twice (once with each of us) and not miss out, which he loves. Sometimes E and I will wait around for them to finish (he usually goes with DH first), sometimes we’ll do something else while we wait. We specifically got the City Mini for how compact and light it is to take on the bus or tram. It has a great recline for naps. E took a nap that was over an hour long on Sunday!

They have a Baby Center at both parks, which is great. You can heat up bottles there, and there are rocking chairs for nursing (or even pumping which I’ve done when I didn’t have E with me). Now, California Adventure has bigger rides so it has less to do there for the little ones, but there are some cute shows and parades that are fun. E loves the Disney Junior Dance Party and although she doesn’t get the humor, she likes Talking with Crush. He’ll be able to do Toy Story Mania, the Little Mermaid, and Monster’s Inc. There are also areas that I’ve felt
comfortable letting a LO walk around if you have a walker. E was walking at 9 months so we made sure she was able to do that at times. She still mainly rides in the stroller or I wear her and with everything to see, she will sit and take everything.

I’m assuming it’ll be November when you go so all the Christmas stuff will be up and it’s just amazing and pretty!

Edited to add... I don’t know if you’re thinking Disneyland or Disney World but I just gave you a bunch on Disneyland. A lot is similar with Disney World in terms of baby center and being ablemtocride switch. You’ll just have to look up the ride info on each park.

@sammierose464 was just gonna hop on and say not sure if you're thinking of DL or WDW but we've been taking DD since she was 4 months and it's the most kid friendly place we go. We're passholders in WDW but took DD to DL when she was 10 months and it was all very similar. They can do most rides, you'll wanna go at their pace but it's definitely enjoyable, especially in November. Once DD turned 1 it became really fun because she recognized characters from Disney Junior, so she really enjoys it. The baby care centers are the best, nothing beats the large changing area and air conditioning.

Rants/raves/questions? Rave: I've been feeling so good and DD is starting to really obey timeouts. It feels like the twilight zone over here. I'm just glad to be in the 2nd tri FINALLY

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend? April & May are my crazy months. I had prom last Friday (I'm the senior sponsor at my school), Grad Bash the Friday before, and our school's big fashion show/spring dance this Friday. But I did get to go out on my BIL's boat Saturday and then lay by the pool Sunday after my BFF's bridal shower. It was nice to enjoy Miami as a tourist this weekend.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend? Aside from chaperoning the dance: CINCO DE MAYO!!!! I'm usually a margarita girl, so I'm sad about not partaking this year but I will be celebrating my last pregnancy y eating all the enchiladas Saturday

  • How far along are you and how many other children do you have & how old are they (because it’s hard to keep track of other people’s kids)? 16 weeks. We have one daughter, Hannah, she is almost twenty months old and in rare form these days! ;)

Rants/raves/questions? I know this is FAR down the line, but when (if ever) do toddlers and babies nap together? Can you tell I’m already really sleep deprived?!

GTKY: What did you do this past weekend? A lot of park time, we had a birthday party for my cousin at a bar (super boring for a pregnant lady, but fun to see family), and brunch with my BFF.

GTKY: Any plans for next weekend? Let’s see...my SIL is coming over to trim Hannah’s bangs (first time ever and I’ll def cry!) and maybe a Food and fun fair at the school I work at.
  • Thank you all! You've made me even more excited. We'll be doing WDW. Probably the week after Thanksgiving (SS is a Thanksgiving baby) and I've heard it's a great time to go. Past the Thanksgiving rush, before the holiday rush and not hot. I have such fond memories of WDW and want to share that with SS. He went at 5 with his mom, but they only did Epcot and Magic Kingdom since it was more of a FL trip. He doesn't talk much about Disneyworld (but I hear about WonderWorks science museum all the time!). I want to stay on site and really enjoy all the Disney magic.

My FIL was questioning our choice, saying we should wait until the baby is about 4. However, this isn't about baby - it's for SS. I don't want to wait too long to take SS. I'm not a big rides person, so I figure whatever baby can go on I'll be fine with and SS and daddy can enjoy the bigger rides.
  • @estellegetty we are not sticklers for schedule in a lot of areas (possibly any), but our kids have all gone down for naps (and now just quiet time for the older ones) at the same time since the beginning. well, probably about 4 months. obviously baby will nap more often than that, but they fall into routines pretty quickly so after a couple weeks of putting them down at that time we have had good luck, even with our second who has never been a good sleeper at any time of day or night (and still isn't at 10, to be honest).
it is a life saver for us as parents, and seems to serve the kids well too!
  • @KFrob I'm glad you guys are going!
  • @norahkate omg you made my day!!! I need like 30-45 minutes to rest myself during the day or I don't think I am going to make it!
  • @estellegetty all credit goes to the sitter that we had though...she started that with our second and made me realize that it was actually possible if we just did it. ;)
