Thank you ladies! @thothscribe81 my RE does ultrasound and blood work (progesterone) every week until I graduate from him on week 12. So 5 more weeks/ultrasounds. He puts all pictures into a flash drive so prints for us. Even so we take a picture of the screen with our phone. We took a video of today’s ultrasound because I know they don’t put videos just pictures. So I’d say be ready to take picture or video in case they don’t.

Btw, do any of you get PIO shots two times a day and feeling miserable. I really do have a high pain tolerance but I can’t take it any more. Both sides of my hip are swollen and painful. Just standing even hurts. It was good for a few weeks but nothing helps anymore and I ve done heating up the oil, heating up the area before and after. Massage etc. I just bought a massager and the nurse gave me a smaller needle so I hope they’ll help but wanted to see if you guys have any other tricks that can help.
  • @Ilky you do the PIO shots in the hip? I heard that’s more painful than in the butt. So maybe you can switch to the butt?

in my clinic starting 9 weeks they give you the option to switch to vaginal progesterone but I’ll suck it up and stick with PIO. The vaginal stuff looks so messy!!!

  • I honestly can’t remember exactly but it may not have been until I graduated from the RE at 12 weeks. It’s so hard not to worry but my friend told me to think 2 positive thoughts for every negative one I had and that actually helped me a lot in the first tri. I also made a poster with positive affirmations written out that I propped on my dresser xoxo

  • DecemberDoll27 welcome!  Thats so exciting you were able to hear the heartbeat!!

@llky I haven't done pio shots but that sounds painful!  I hope you find a less uncomfortable way to do them for the last few weeks you need it!

So got my first US today!  They couldn't see much - just a tiny little dot, but she said that was totally normal.  Originally they thought I was 5 weeks 1 day based on my last period - but my cycles tend to be long so in the back of my head I had a feeling that was off.  From the US she said I was 4 weeks 5 days - and when I look back on FF friend that matches up exactly with when we baby danced and when I believe I ovulated.  So the fact that I appear to be right on track made me feel a TON better.  I have another appointment next week for another US and she said I will probably see a lot more then - she said they grow super fast!  Just waiting for blood test results which is the only other thing I'm nervous about - I'm hoping to see those numbers double (if not more since its been three days!).  I was 521 on Tuesday so my fingers are crossed for over 1100.  We did get two print out pictures so that was exciting!  I'll be 5 weeks 5 days at my next appointment so hopefully we will get to see the heartbeat!

Breathing a sigh of relief for this week!! Now to get through a bachelorette party weekend without drinking and tipping off anyone that I'm pregnant lol.  FYI white grape juice in a wine bottle looks EXACTLY like wine!  I'm bringing that with me and hopefully no one pours a drink out of my bottle by mistake lol.
  • @thothscribe81 good luck with the grape juice wine.  That's awesome.

    @DecemberDoll27 welcome to the board!

@thothscribe81 that's wonderful news! yay! enjoy the party :)

@prudence9-2 yes on the hip area (muscly part not the soft part). The nurses told me that you cant do lower than the line that goes parallel to the butt crack (lol I dont know a better term). Then you divide one cheek into 4 and right or left upper quadrant will be the area to do the shots. We were told otherwise you might hit the sciatic nerve if you go outside the area. Today it feel slightly better I think the massager helped but still not looking forward to the two shots tonight (one estrogen one progesterone) ugh!
  • @Ilky ok I think we talk about the same area. I read hip but in my head was thinking you’re talking about the thighs. Some ppl do the injections there. And it is more painful.

You also do estrogen shots there? Yikes!

  • @Ilky I feel your pain! I do PIO twice a day and I do Lovenox injections once a day. My butt hurts from the PIO and I am ready to be done with it! No advice here unfortunately, I tried everything and nothing makes it better. My RE is switching me to once a day when we hit 8 weeks. How about you?
@thothscribe81 congrats on the great beta!!! The grape juice idea is awesome!

  • Ugh PIO! They are the WORST! Are you lying down on your stomach to take the shots? I also found it helpful to take a deep breath in right before my shot, then as I exhaled my husband would inject the needle. I found that those things helped along with a bum massage right after.
  • IlkyIlky member
I will reduce the dose to once a day once I hit 10 weeks and stop completely at 11th week. So, there is still a lot way to go. I dont lay down but lean forward and put the weight on my opposite leg/side. As you guys I have tried everything but will just have to get through this. We all went through so much what is one more pain, right haha. Actually, my nurse told me that every time I feel bad, down or feel like cant take it anymore, just watch the video we recorded of our baby's heartbeat and that will help. I think I will just do that each time I get jabbed and it will all be worth it :) Btw, the short needles (1") are so much better I dont know why they didnt give me those before. It's for thinner girls where there is not a lot of meat to block it, so if you are one ask your doctor or nurse to switch it to short needles.
  • @Ilky yeah, I switched to the short needles for my second FET. As using the long needles for about 7 weeks during my first FET over a year ago caused me to have constant numbness in my upper outer thighs. At first it was also burning but now it’s just numb (over a year later!)

and actually a week week ago I got a new nerve damage from PIO. One of my legs feels wet. I keep touching the pants. But it just feels wet.

So yeah, the joy of PIO :)

  • @thothscribe81 great beta! Congrats!

    @mag1cbeli3ver thanks for asking.

Ultrasound went well.  Heartbeat was 166 and measuring right on track.  We go back in 2 and a half weeks for our final ultrasound with the RE and bloodwork for genetic screening.

  • @prudence9-2 I was measuring 5 days behind at 7w. My RE had me come back 2 weeks later and I was still measuring behind but there has been 2 weeks worth of growth so RE changed my due date. Baby never caught up but is healthy and measured exactly to the new due date at both my 20 week anatomy scan and a fetal assessment at 36 weeks. FX for you
  • Thanks for posting that @LadyMillil I hope my embryo is also ok!

  • So many new baby mamas here! I love it! Congrats to all the newbies, I am so excited for all of you!!!!!!!!!!! And all of us for making it this far

How far along are you? / EDD

    12 weeks today! November 15

    How are you feeling?
Morning sickness is getting better however I have had a brutal cough for 3 weeks now --- going to see my pulmonologist today. Hoping it's just a long, lingering cold and not related to my sarcoid (auto immune disease that effects the lungs). On top of that, I am just getting over a stomach bug! Oh and my new business launched this week --- clothing for babies and toddlers   I would tell you guys about it but I am afraid I will get kicked off the Bump for solicitation. If you're curious, just message me

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
Not until May 22. I will see my high risk OB and have a quick US in his office, not a formal one in radiology.

    Thoughts/Concerns?
It hurts to sneeze sometimes. I mean like reallllllly hurts. Like the muscles below my belly button are going to snap. I am also still working on getting my appetite back. I can't really eat or drink much all morning, come the afternoon I am STARVING. And I HATE water! I want nothing to do with it. Which makes this whole 'you must drink a gallon of water a day' think really difficult. I just want lemonade. All. Day.

    Questions:
Anyone else struggling to eat healthy? Exercise? I am having a hard time living a healthy lifestyle and I know during the first trimester you kind of get a free pass to do whatever makes you feel best but I still feel like garbage!

GTKY: Spring is here (kind of)! What are some of your favorite spring activities? What are you most looking forward to over the next 2 months?
I love just being outside! Hiking, biking, walking, going to the beach. Hoping that once my cough is better that I can get back to some regular exercise again. I am struggling to walk a mile around the block right now and I used to be able to run 3 miles easily. Just don't have it in me lately.
  • @mechelita44 I'm with you on the exercise.  I feel like food wise I've been doing pretty well, but a walk around the block is the only thing I've been able to muster up the energy for.  I watched a first trimester prenatal video that other day and though, that doesn't seem so bad, but I just watched - never got up.

  • @mechelita44 Yes! I really really wanna be healthier for baby bean, but it's so hard! I've exercised maybe 4 times total since I got my BFP, and nothing like I used to do before we started this FET cycle. And I want to eat healthy, but I have a serious aversion to vegetables right now (except for raw carrots). Only bad junk food sounds good to me! Gimme all the goodies! lol! But yeah, I'm hoping after the first trimester I can get things back in gear and focus on being better...
@ChristenMA83 At least you found it and watched!!! Was it prenatal yoga, by chance? I really wanna get into that.
