I’ll start! These are currently my inspiration pictures! I plan to do gray walls with a navy accent wall where the crib will go. *more pics in spoiler bc I’m on mobile and they’re huge!
@ashbub714 I'm also doing gray walls and a Navy accent wall behind the crib! How funny is that! We're doing a mid century/foxes/woodland sort of thing. But currently the room is being renovated so I've got nothing to show except bare dry wall and subfloor
Oh my gosh these are all amazing! We are also going grey blue and white but are not painting the walls since we are renting and it's a pain. This is all I have to show for now! The nursing pillow will go somewhere else and the frame with the bump pictures will be hung up towards the end. Still figuring out what to put in the empty cubby where the ocean picture is (that's from our honeymoon btw!!)
No real nursery here, Baby is in our room and then will share with DS, so we'll do something then for both of them, likely inspired by what DS likes when the time comes. I'll just live vicariously through all of you!
@SmashJam yes! We had Polaroid cameras at the wedding and people loved them so we ended up keeping one of the 3 we bought and now we're taking bump pictures every 2-3 weeks
Anyone who saw my bump pic this week saw how not very far along the nursery is right now but we’re going to paint the room either a tan or blush/light peach color maybe? Some of the decor I have is coral/pink. We really need to get moving!
Two parts: first is the former nursery painted for DS but is now the upstairs playroom. We accidentally chose a color really close to the closet color we chose for DD1.
This is the room we painted and decorated to match DD's original nursery colors, coral and aqua. Now DD1 and DS share the room, which is why the crib is in here...and empty because DS sleeps on the floor with DD now. DH just did the closet (paint and all) a couple of weekends ago so we could put the dresser in there and better arrange the kids' beds.
Great progress ladies! We are in the process of redoing our entire bathroom so once that is done, we can focus on starting the nursery. We want to keep it pretty neutral, light and airy. All white furniture, light gray glider and possibly paint the room a light gray or light sage green, or do one wallpaper accent wall and keep it white.
@ashbub714 I love the mint color as an accent! My SIL, who is also pregnant, is doing that color combo and it's so gorgeous!
@babygagnon2018 That nursery is amazing! I have serious envy over your wallpaper.
I'm anxiously awaiting the big nursery reveal. My husband is doing the nursery with my dad and they are doing a big surprise for the baby shower. The last time I was in the room, there wasn't anything but subfloor and sheetrock down to make closets. All I know is that the walls are light blue! Getting so excited seeing everyone's spaces!
@julybabybear I love the surprise nursery idea! that's so much fun! I'm too much of a control freak when it comes to decor that I could never relinquish control lol I can't wait to see pictures once you get to see it!
@krystlerr I do not need a crib at all but I love the one in your inspiration pictures as a toddler bed! Man I'm a little sad that a friend gave us a second crib, lol.
Loving the ideas! We are having DS2 with us in our room until at least 6 months (hopefully sleep training earlier this time around). We got a bassinet with one of the higher weight limits. Once transitioning to their shared room we plan to get DS1 a bunck bed so we can use the crib for DS2. I’ll share pics later when i get home.
@babygagnon2018 holy crap I am in love with that accent wallpaper. I want that for my room!
For us, baby will sleep in our room until about 6 months old so between now and then we have to make some big decisions. Currently DD and DS share a room (we only have a 2 bedroom house with a non-egress bedroom in the basement.) We will either switch rooms with the kids as ours is larger and have all 3 kids share until we can afford a bigger house or we will move into the basement. I don't personally want to move to the basement as it is finished, but is very outdated and not technically up to code safety wise.
Our kids current room is painted a pale green with princess decorations on DD's side of the room and Dinosaurs on DS's side of the room. Our room is pale purple with a dark purple accent wall so if we switch rooms we'd have to do some painting (if we plan to stay in the house).
My DH was a sweetheart a couple of weeks ago and surprised me. He told me he wss taking a relaxation day but while I was at work, he took our darkly painted, messy, overloaded office and did this...
Here’s what we are working with. It’s more about organizing at this point. We are looking for nicer blackout curtains because the sun sets on his window way past bedtime during the summer.
@wildtot both of those rooms are so clean, so naturally I hate you. Also I have the same goat hamper! Love three sprouts I would cover the bedroom in their adorable animal shit if I had lots of money lol.
@SmashJam it’s the same room, but yeah usual the mess in there are books but the living room is chaos with toys lol. He doesn’t spend much time in there unless it’s bedtime, naps, or I’m in there cleaning/organizing. I love three sprouts! We only have the bin and the hamper. Funny the hamper is being used for toys and the bin for clothes (originally for toys lol). I’ve been avoiding decorating the one wall until we do the bed/crib change later this year.
We’re moving into our new house next week so I haven’t gotten to do any nesting and it will be so nice to start on the twins space! I’m thinking gold and foresty/little prince themed. I have this stuff so far (minus the sheets!)
It’s a mess. And good god I have so many cloth diapers! This is DD old room. Waiting on new crib and changing table covers to come. We also pull out a little side table to put next to the rocker for late nights.
Reposted from randoms because I had a brain fart and forgot we had a nursery thread!
My husband and I are having a serious debate. Our house has two bedrooms downstairs, and our upstairs consists of one small bedroom (not technically a bedroom because no closet), a big closet in the hallway, and the master bedroom. We basically haven’t used the upstairs at all since i was pregnant with my son and we decided to move our bedroom downstairs. My son’s nursery is right across the hall from our bedroom downstairs. Master bedroom upstairs is becoming the playroom, along with a futon for overnight guests and my desk for when I work from home. The smaller room upstairs is going to be either my son’s room or the new baby’s nursery. We can’t decide which is the better way to go. The baby will sleep in our room in a bassinet for around 6 months, but I still want to get everything set up and have a place for all baby’s clothes and other stuff. My main concern with putting baby’s room up there is if he needs to be rocked or if I want to nurse him in the rocker, bit my son is asleep in his room, I’d have to bring baby upstairs, use the rocker up there (we have one for each room), then go back downstairs with the sleeping baby, and put him into his bassinet. The stairs are kind of narrow/steep but we plan to put a runner on it (hardwood) and install a handrail. My other concern is middle of the night diaper changes if his changing table is upstairs. On the other hand, my husband thinks my son will feel jealous and resentful if we move him, while I think he’s too young (19 mos) to feel like that. Also it will be easier to leave my son where he is and make upstairs the nursery, as opposed to moving all my son’s stuff up there. Ahhh I’m just so torn!!! Feel free to share input or other pros/cons to either option that I might not have thought of.
Oh lord y’all are making me feel like a huge procrastinator! Our future nursery is still a guest room and needs some serious woork. All I have is ideas to share. We are doing a mermaid theme (I’m not huge on pink but I love purples and greens), so I’ll share the colors, and a few prints I had made.

@zande2016 that's a tough call! I would probably move your older son upstairs, and try to make it exciting for him by telling him since he's older he gets the cool room next to the playroom. I don't know if it will work, but it's worth a shot.
When my son was a baby, we lived in a one and half story house. Our bedroom was on the main level of the house and the whole upstairs we turned into a nursery. He slept in our room for the first six months, but once we started putting him upstairs we had a baby monitor that was always on and it worked well. So as long as you have a baby monitor for piece of mind, I think you guys would be fine either way!

@zande2016 I would do what @stlmegs suggests! Big boy gets a new big boy room! Yeah it’ll be a hassle to move all his stuff upstairs but it’ll be easier in the long run since, in general, he’ll need you less than the baby will. Ease of location to the nursery would always be no. 1 for me!
Ahh everyone makes such good points. I see so many reasons for either option. I don't know if he's old enough to understand the big boy thing or if that would mean anything to him. He's not too verbal at 19 months, so it's hard to gauge if he actually understands when we tell him things.

aww thank you! Nope, I work in HR haha.
Everyone says my house looks like a magazine and my friends keep
offering to pay me to design/decorate their houses- I just love doing it! I
take inspiration from pinterest/online and just go and find the stuff. I can usually get good deals but that
wallpaper cost me a pretty penny- even at the 40% discount I got from a friend
who works at Wayfair.
@zande2016
I would also move DS upstairs- plus once he gets older he will appreciate being
farther away haha that way you don’t have to move everything twice
@zande2016 I am having the same struggle. We live in a 4 bedroom Cape and our master is upstairs with DS bedroom. We decided that since he's 4 he can have the upstairs to himself. I will move downstairs into my former office and the toy room was turned into a nursery. Then when we convert this baby to a toddler bed we will decide if the two boys share a room or have separate rooms. I guess it's whether they would rather have 1 separate playroom or their own rooms and no playroom. Idk if that helps you!
LOVE all the rooms! The actual abs inspirations! our room we are doing next month and it will be a cross between @babygagnon2018 with the sweet elegance and @krystlerr with the light simplicity.
Soft. feminine. blush. Classic spindle crib. Accents and small pops of colors and something we can easily transition into a “big girl” room.
And846 love it! I got my rug and poof from homegoods and the crib from amazon (either use the completion disc or keep watching it go down) I got the littleseeds one and amazon actually gave it to me for free because they sent it with a few missing springs (which DH went out and bought for $5!)
@And846 the weird stuffed animal mounts for the wall are a favorite of mine! I always think about decorating DS's room with some but he's not super into animals so it would be weird.
We chose a wall color...didn’t actually paint yet though (aside from a little sample). Also picked out a rug and we have our glider. Also we have a crib and changing table that need to be put together. So basically we have next to nothing done, but at least we found this cute lamp
I'm still struggling on what to do for a dresser! We have a crib, but the set was discontinued so no matching dresser. I contacted the manufacturer about a different dresser in the same color and that got me nowhere. I can't seem to find anything online in a decent price that I'm confident will match close enough.
Walls and glider are grey, crib is med-dark brown, trim is brown, shades are light brown, and carpet is brown. What color dresser do I go with? White, light grey, slate, or a different brown that wont exactly match?
I will try to add pics when I get home of what we have so far.

I think I’d go with white for a dresser @MrsMiller8588 especially if your glider has any white in it (our son’s is grey fabric with white frame). Grey would probably be nice too if you can match the glider. Grey chalk spray paint can look really good.
ETA this shelf in our son’s room was black and we spray painted it grey before installing it...I really liked how it came out and the color matched the glider really well.
