1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on? ramping up my conditioning and maintaining my weightlifting program. Hoping to work up to running a full 5k - a few weeks ago I did one and ran over half, so that's a big win. Big goal is eating. My cravings and I are fighting and they are kicking my ass.
2. How is it going? Needed to take a bit of a break last week, so not great. Plus my eating habits have been total crap.
3. What is a small win from last week? I turned down cupcakes and cheesecake.
4. What is your goal for this week? Cut the sugar and sodium. I'm really susceptible to bloating when I eat too much salt and hope I can get down a pound or two this week.
5. GTKY: What's your favorite exercise? Deadlifts!
1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on? Eating better at home. I do great at work. I bring healthy snacks and eat when I need to. At home, I tend to go for the less healthy options.
2. How is it going? This is a new*ish* thing. I was feeling okay about my weight (all things considered...) buy my doc thinks I need to lose weight. I'm annoyed but I know she is right.
3. What is a small win from last week? We did a ton of walking Saturday. Mall and the local bike path. It was good.
4. What is your goal for this week? I want to get my total gym set up again tonight. Got my Fitbit Versa today so I feel like it's a good time to start getting up early and doing SOMETHING before work.
5. GTKY: What's your favorite exercise? Yoga. I adore it. I use to dance ballet too but my joints can't do that anymore.
@prpl11butterfly - Yoga is great! I have some joint issues (hypermobility) and I had to quit practicing yoga. I also work out in the morning before work and I feel so much better on days I get to do it. I hear you on eating healthier at home. It's difficult having access to my pantry all day, i just want to keep snacking and my scale hates me for it.
@catlady2015 I injured my knee in a dance fall 15/16 years ago. After 6 years of not being able to dance (or walk) without pain, my PCP noticed cysts that the original specialist had missed. I live with a lot less pain now but it's just not the same. And with pointe, once you've been off for a few years, the risk of injury increases if you go back. It makes me sad to think I could still be dancing if I the specialist hadn't blown me off
1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on? Water intake
2. How is it going? Not good. I'm glad this was posted, I always put this on my things to work on list and I never seem to make progress. I like caffeine too much.
3. What is a small win from last week? Started bringing water to my workout classes instead of relying on the water fountain. Forces me to drink the whole thing before work.
4. What is your goal for this week? Drink water with lunch instead of Diet Dr. Pepper
5. GTKY: What's your favorite exercise? Ugh, I love it all. I like anything that makes me sweat puddles. I would say I most like running but I like to mix it up with hot barre which I do once (or twice) a week.
@prpl11butterfly +1 on the joints issue. I can't believe how quickly it went from no problems with joints, to pain, to surgery, and so on. I'm not sure how much longer I can do the workouts I am currently doing. I'm sorry that you had to give up dance.
1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on? I need to stop eating so many sweets. I have such a sweet tooth. I try to only eat one sweet away, but I'd like to cut it back to one sweet a week or something more reasonable.
2. How is it going? I haven't started yet. lol I did it before a couple months ago and it was great. I was actually less hungry cutting back on sweets and after a couple days I didn't crave them.
3. What is a small win from last week? As far as sweets nothing, but I did work out five days last week as usual so that's good.
4. What is your goal for this week? Cut back on the sweets.
5. GTKY: What's your favorite exercise? Running. I also like to stretch, though that's not really a workout unless you count it as yoga. I always stretch before a workout but stretch after is SO relaxing.
@catlady2015 You turned down cupcakes and cheesecake?! That's willpower. Good for you. If he cupcakes were made from scratch, I probably wouldn't be able to pass them up. lol
@prpl11butterfly I'm so sorry about your injury and that you didn't get to go back to dance.
@quidditchcapn1120 What is hot barre? I keep getting invited to that with the running group I am in and I have no idea what it is. I guess I could google it.

@AdorkablePixie it's a class that is made up of mostly bodyweight exercises ina room with a ballet barre. It's a LOT of squatting, lunging, mostly for the booty and thighs but we also add arms and abs in. And there are heaters so the room gets very hot. I consider myself in good shape but my legs are always shaky and sore after that class!
@quidditchcapn1120 I've done 2 barre classes in my life and I was sore for DAYS.
1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on? Getting off my butt after work
2. How is it going? Meh. Some days are better than others.
3. What is a small win from last week? Had nice weather last week, so we were able to go on a couple walks.
4. What is your goal for this week? Start doing some yoga.
5. GTKY: What's your favorite exercise? My least hated exercise is yoga or swimming. I like exercise that doesn't feel like exercise, like walking or hiking too.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
I need to hunt down my old instructor and have her write me up a good floor barre. Man we use to dread floor day but it was sooooo good for the abs. And easy on the joints.
1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on? Brushing my teeth twice per day instead of once. I know that's gross but depression really is a bitch. Water intake. Exercise a few times per week.
2. How is it going? Brushing is going well. Water--needs work still. Exercise, I did okay a couple of weeks ago and then nothing. Part of that was because my mom was visiting, but I still could've gone out on my bike. I like to bike with my husband and I didn't want to leave her at my house by herself.
3. What is a small win from last week? I got out of the house more, did some socializing, and did some gardening.
4. What is your goal for this week? Get back on my bike. It makes my back feel so much better and everything else, including my mind. Make sure I at least get 2 glasses of water per day. Keep up with brushing my teeth.
5. GTKY: What's your favorite exercise? I love walking but my legs and feet start to hurt after a mile Bike riding now. When my legs get tired, I can change gears and coast. We bought bicycles a couple of years ago in the dead of summer. I didn't get to enjoy it much because of pseudo flares from the heat and I just stopped. I'm happy that I'm putting our investment to use finally. I can easily wait until the day cools down to do it.

@quidditchcapn1120@suzycupcake have you tried a water tracking app? I used to use one and it kept be a lot more accountable and I could physically see when I hadn’t reached my goal. They can also send reminders.
DD1: June '16 DD2: March ‘19 :::: Married since 2011 :::: USN Wife ::::
@meggyme I haven't tried an app- do you have a good one to recommend? I bought a water bottle to only keep at work which I hope helps. I might also buy one that stays in my workout bag. I feel like having a container consistently where I need it most will be half the battle.
@quidditchcapn1120 I've used waterlogged. I like it because you can add customized water containers and do quick adds by touch/holding the app icon on the iphone. It makes it pretty easy and quick to track if you've got a couple favorite glasses/water bottles that you use.

@suzycupcake DH has terrible hygiene habits when it comes to brushing his teeth. I've had to get on him since we moved in together reminding him to brush his teeth when he wakes up and before bed. Now he usually remembers and I don't need to remind him. But flossing? Forget it. lol

+1 for waterlogged! I've used that in the past and I liked the reminders if you hadn't logged water for a certain amount of time. MFP has the ability to track intake but no alerts if you aren't drinking enough.
@AdorkablePixie lol you reminded me to go brush my teeth. Thank you
