@mittenlove86 I know, the constant comparisons are so hard. We went to a children’s museum with other moms and babies from DD’s bmb when she was about a year. She was the only one not walking. I felt awful about it at the time. I’ll tell ya though, in a few years it doesn’t wind up mattering anymore. That’s what I try to tell myself in the moment now
@mittenlove86 I had the same concerns with DS walking. He would push his walker for ever but would never walk on his own. He was 15 months and a few days when he actually took some steps. I had previously consulted with my public health nurse as I was concerned he was behind in his gross motor skills. I asked her about the walker and if maybe it was hindering him. She did say to me a couple things that helped ease my mind. 1. the walker is great. It is giving him the confidence to walk and when he is ready he will let go. 2. She asked if he was my first. I said yes. She said okay, stop helping him. Make him get around on his own and get things he wants by himself so he has some incentive to walk. 3. She said it's often kids just being cautious and learning how to be confident on their feet and it will come with time. It can definitely be concerning but it is normal. Even when he started taking a few steps around 15 months it was still another month before we could really put his walker way. And he was around 16.5 months when he started getting really confident on his feet and would walk around in many places. He will be 18 months in a couple of weeks and he won't slow down!
ETA:
How far along are you? How big is baby? 7+2. raspberry size.
What cool thing is your outside baby (or babies) doing these days? He is becoming so independent! He wants to do everything by himself. My personal favorite is now he says "hug" and comes in for a hug.
How are you feeling? Does this pregnancy feel different or the same as in the past? I feel like crap. I was pretty queezy my last pregnancy too but not as bad as this. I struggle with the feeling of being a bad mom when I have to take time away from DS because this pregnancy is making me sick and I feel like I'm putting #2 first which is hard on the guilt. Totally irrational but you know, hormones.
R/R/Q: @texas_t I'm getting a little worried about my trip and how I'll be feeling.
GTKY: What do you want to do differently this time around? Enjoy my third trimester. I had my appendix out at 25 weeks last time and it kept me off work and very limited duties the rest of my pregnancy. So I want to embrace it and have some fun!
What are outside babies doing? Ds1 (4 years next month) is like a little person. He makes jokes (that aren’t funny), is learning childhood rhymes (if you don’t, I don’t care, I’ll pull down your underwear), is getting really good at swimming and soccer, but still needs his mommy. Ds2 (2 in July) is rough and tough. He is so interested in doing everything like his big brother. He’s not talking much- he can say quite a few words, but never does. He’s always listening though. He likes to destroy everything, climb everything, and trusts that I’ll always catch him as he free falls off of the things he climbs when I’m nearby. He also needs a kiss when he gets hurt and that usually/magically makes him 100% better.
How are you feeling? Is this pregnancy like the last? I’m feeling nauseated and tired. Yes it is similar to the first and second in those ways.
R/R/Q: I’m traveling at the end of this month with h and the boys. I want to be more excited, but I’m worried I’ll feel like crap.
What do do I want to do differently this time around? Not be so afraid of everything. This will be my last baby and I want to enjoy all parts of it. I’m so sad this phase of my life will be ending. Having babies has been so wonderful.
How far along are you? How big is baby? 5 weeks 1 day today, some kind of seed. I don't know, it's small.
What cool thing is your outside baby (or babies) doing these days? Soccer practice every Monday night. Other than that, just being little terrors. (Two boys)
How are you feeling? Does this pregnancy feel different or the same as in the past? Not much different so far. Probably a little mix of both.

GTKY: What do you want to do differently this time around? Stay super healthy and fit (something that wasn't my priority in my last pregnancies.
