@middleschoolmommy I am on labetatol. I was on 100 x2 a day but my RE was concerned it was still high so she told me I had to see my OB for an increase in dosage. So that's why I was at the appointment today. I just thought they would increase dosage, which they want me to do, but they told me to come here too. The ER doctors are just as confused as I am!
@highsteaks they finally gave me some crackers and water.
Had all my first tri bloodwork done this week. I saw the results on my patient portal online. My hcg only went from 22,000 to 29,000 in 3wks. That doesn't seem good.
@bfpafter4years that's also what I'm taking. I have to monitor at home. I have really bad "white coat" syndrome. So my bp is fine, even low, at home but will spike at the doctor's office.
@andrea0418 how many weeks are you? i believe betas usually stop doubling after a certain time, then begin to decrease before the second trimester in a typical pregnancy. not a nurse or doctor, but i remember reading about that at some point.
@andrea0418 - I don't know a lot about betas that late other than they really slow down with doubling time. Why did your doc even draw them that late? From what I've read they don't tell you much by that time and if you/you're doctor is concerned an ultrasound will give you much better answers. I looked at your history and you said you found baby with the doppler yesterday? Did your doctor say he/she was concerned with the hcg results?

I called my dr. after googling which I know is the worst. My findings told me that it could mean the placenta failed to develop. Then I read that it's normal and hcg slows way down then decreases. My dr reassured me that it's nothing to worry about and seems normal. Then why do they check it?! It was one of like 10 or 12 things they did bloodwork for. Everything else was within normal range. Yes I have found the hb with my Doppler so I wasn't as panicked as I could have been! I'm 9w 1d

eta- the chart in this link suggests that average betas peak right around 9 weeks. https://perinatology.com/calculators/betahCG.htm
