Thanks for the feedback. I usually do add chicken or some more protein to my lunch salads but I’m still having slight aversions to eating chicken more than like 2-3x per week. I’ll keep playing with my food (haha) and see what works but OMG I am one hangry pregnant lady over here!
@spartan4life My DD kept randomly getting diarrhea and I just couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Then once you mentioned kiwis I finally put two and two together, it was the kiwis! So thank you!
@krzyriver - I had to make a similar choice about 12 years ago - to keep doing lab work or pivot into finance. I looked at the reasons I had decided to change directions (for me, it was future career opportunities), and decided to stick with my choice to change career paths. I have never regretted that decision.
You need to make what you think is the best decision for yourself for the long term.
This is the first day in weeks I feel pretty good! I haven't thrown up, am eating all the things....did a 30 minute cardio sesh at lunch. I really don't wanna jynx it but.... hoping i've turned a corner
@knottieamusments See and I do feel like the change could potentially be good for me. I am SO bored with insurance and making phone calls. I want to be more actively involved in patient care. The career advancement opportunities that I have on the business side aren't something I care about after dipping my toes in facility management at my current job. I want to go back to taking care of patients. And I could always shift back later if my priorities change.
My pregnancy concerns me, but I don't want a temporary situation to keep me from a long term opportunity. She gave me until Monday to mull it over. I'll probably ask some more questions at that time just to make sure that physically I can handle it and that they can accommodate me when necessary.
There's a FB thread in Nov that I'm sadly hoping gets fun. Also, it is WAY to early for that. And it's not a secret if you tell everyone it's a secret.
On my linkedin, this recruiter on my feed is looking for 'meat processing talent.' I get what she means, but my brain immediately went to much darker/better places...
Seriously though it might be more exciting than when my son started pooping on the toilet. I feel so yucky like 6 days a week and then that magical day happens where everything just moves and I lose like 10 lbs and feel like I can move around again without all the gas pain and bleh.
@sparklingwhit preach. I tried everything for three days to get my system to move. Ate TWO BITES of lo mein for dinner and that did it. I was equal parts relieved and furious that it was that easy.
Also this morning sucks. Woke up with the kids cold, and threw up lots of stomach acid. Just s ton of fun. Of course mh worked overnight so he's going to have to nap when he gets home.
We told our families on Easter and now I'm wishing we waited a little longer. I was 10w this time and we waited until about 16w with DD. I just hate all the questions and constant text messages. I'm not much of a sharer and I can already tell MIL is going to drive me nuts. She is already texting me about how she knows it's a boy because she was more sick with my H than with his sister. I put zero faith in any of that, so to me it's just obnoxious.
My 5 year old just said he doesn’t want to live with me anymore. I told him he knows where the door is. Is it bedtime yet? They turned on the water outside while they were playing and got soaked - it’s 38 out. Then I realized they got sharpie all over the front of the refrigerator... dumped water all over the floor, and now one doesn’t want to live with me anymore and is being really obnoxious, and I just don’t have the energy for this right now. And I told my husband about it and his response was “are you ready for #3?” Ugh!
@purplegoldfish2 I feel like you should write down brief stories of days like today in a journal to give them when they're older. I bet it would make for good laughs for everyone in quite a few years Or maybe when they're about to have their own kids
@chopchop25 I have one! I use notes on my phone that’s connected to my email (in case I lose the phone) and then when I get time I copy it to the notebook. I started it when they did something I wanted to put in their baby books but couldn’t get to the book at the time. It’s been great because people ask me when my boys did xyz and I don’t know, but I can scroll back through and find it. Plus baby books only give you a few lines for stuff after 1 year but that’s when they start doing interesting things that you want to remember. When they’re 20, nobody is going to care about their first tooth or first haircut, but they’ll want to hear about that funny thing that happened when they were 3.
Just found out today we’re having another boy! A tiny bit of disappointment at first, but at least we have a ton of boy clothes already! It’s all good... biggest thing is that the NIPT Test also came back with everything looking good health-wise. But it’s so hard coming up with boy names!
@Lisa3379 Congratulations! I agree on the boy names. With our twins we had 2 girl names and 1 maybe it might be ok boy name and they were both boys. This time we have a girl name (not the same names as before) and no boy name, which is making me think it will be another boy. I’d love 3 boys, but the name thing... haha.
@purplegoldfish2 haha yup, we had a girl name basically all ready to go, which was a miracle because the first time, we had such a hard time agreeing on any name. I have a feeling this kid will also get a name at the last moment in the hospital, just like big brother did.
So we were out driving to the post office in our neighborhood. This dude, in dress pants and a button down, parks his car in front of us, and walks over to the houses under construction across the street. I jokingly said to my husband that he was going to use the portapotty right there on the lot. Sure enough, he walks right in. So grossssss....
@jemmerjams uuugh my old place was having construction done by the owners so we lived with a portapotty basically on our front yard and has people do this allllllll the time. We lived right next to an interurban trail with a ton of runners and they were always stopping to poop in it. So gross.
DD was an effing hellion today. Usually takes 2 naps and wouldn't take a single one today. A 1 year old who is up for 12 hours is a scary thing. She was so cranky all day and wouldn't stop getting into EVERYTHING. I have to admit, I cried when I finally put her to bed. Today was rough.
Finally got the taggie done and delivered! I make taggies and a lady bought three but I needed to finishe sewing the last one. It took me a good 3 weeks to get it done cuz I've felt so gross. I felt so bad it took me so long to get it to her! I'm glad it's all done!
@sparklingwhit don't they say not to eat it because of the raw fish and roe and possibly the fish that may have (is it lead?)? I keep thinking about a shrimp tempura roll at our closest sushi place (it's 70 miles away, about an hour drive) and surely that would be fine, right? As long as the fish is cooked and it's not the danger fish.
I only like the sashimi (completely raw). Doh! @DunkinDecaf I don’t have the balls. I wish I did. I won’t even do lunch meat. This is my last chance at baby 2 and I just can’t risk anything. I would live in a bubble right now if I could. Lol!
I found the article on the Bump about sushi. It says as long as it's cooked and fish that is not high in mercury, you're good to go! And it's mercury, not lead that the fish contain that you need to avoid, like shark, swordfish, yellow fin tuna and marlin.

Also, I pooped today. I know I state that often on here but I’ve only gone like 6 times since getting pregnant and every time is a big deal! Lol!
Embrace your wins, however stinky they are!
