@sunny_side Monday is almost here! I hope you’ve succeeded at focusing on other things as much as possible. It’s so hard not to obsess sometimes! I’m hoping for the best news for you tomorrow
@susiev3 Hoping you get great news on Tuesday and you’ve got lots to distract you in the meantime You were totally right about the needles. They’re not so bad now. First were the worst.
@madasm0530 7 frozen! That’s amazing! Congrats! You’re almost half-way through your 2ww. I hope the rest passes quickly for you.
@leilee101 Thanks for the encouragement. It actually really helped me to just think “one needle at a time” on that first day. It’s much easier now. How did the ER go today?
Nothing too exciting going on here. Got through my first shots, and now it’s not really a big deal. Tomorrow I have US/BW and they decide if my doses change and/or I start the Orgalutran. I got my first dose of Orgalutran when I picked everything else up because it’s a holiday here tomorrow, so hopefully they don’t want to change my doses on the others. I won’t be able to get them until Tuesday.

@sarah_fox welcome and congrats on Stim start. Ive never wanted to “fast forward” through a weekend before but I’m making the best of it. I’ll probably go out for a little shopping this afternoon which will be a nice distraction
@mayflower513 I’ll probably end up going with that testing strategy as well. I like to have as much information as possible. As long as you keep in mind that it’s just information and not really a result until the blood test, it’s nice to know what’s going on.

Transfer was smooth! They wouldn’t give me the embryo grading which of course has me googling embryo pics to try to guess the grade mine was lol. I’m going to ask when I call today to find out if anymore will be frozen. And I have been cramping since the day before which is kind of annoying because now I can’t tell what’s what haha (Not like I’d know for sure anyway). And... I forgot my afternoon progesterone at home, which is annoying. I’ll have to take it like an hour late, maybe 1.5 hours.
good luck to everyone have retrievals, transfers, and getting fert reports back today!

@mayflower513 Congrats on the smooth transfer, hopefully you get more information soon. I hate it when the labs leave us guessing and trying to fill in the blank with missing information. It's just a tease.
@leilee101 Congrats on the 11 embryos, that's a great number. Hopefully you're feeling better today.
AFM, I received a call this morning from the lab and all 5 embryos are still growing and dividing, which is such exciting news! Between day 5-7, the lab will do the biopsy for the pgs/d and freeze the embryos. I should get a call this Friday with a report of how many embryos they were able to do a biopsy and freeze.
Me: 28 DH:30 Together since: May 2005 Married: June 2015 TTC #1 with IVF & PDG/S (reduce the chance of our child being born with Nager Syndrome)
@madasm0530 if you've made it this far without an HPT, you can totally make it to Wednesday!
Guys! All 11 eggs were mature and 9 of them fertilized. I'm so relieved! Transfer will be Friday, so hopefully we have some strong lookin' embabies by day 5
@mayflower513 Awesome! Look at that lil embie and more to freeze-lucky! Argh, so annoying that they wouldn't give you the grading! I wonder why? LOL about ordering those Wondfos! And I think I'm in the same boat and mindset at you and @sarah_fox!
Yay @leilee101 That's great news! 9 fertilized?!? You go girl!! FX for you!
AFM, today I'm happy-sad. We made it to transfer day-which is amazing given my case. I never envisioned *not* making it to day 3 fresh transfer so when that started to become a possibility, I started really loosing it because I wasn't prepared for that option. Honestly, my expectation is this: transfer whatever we can day 3, then get -beta or miscarry at 6-8 wks. That was my mentality going into this process (DH is ever the optimist though!) But to think that I may not even make it to day 3??? That I was unprepared for.
But, we made it. (When I spoke with the embryologist the day after ER, he said the next time he would speak to me would be early this morning to give me a report on them-transfer or not to transfer. So, when my phone rang yesterday from my RE, I just about died thinking "why are they calling me today?!? what happened?!?" As it turns out, she was just scheduling my appt for today in the event that we had something to transfer. Phew, ok, mini heart attack over. Then, I missed *another* call from the office at lunchtime and just about died again! Once I got through to a nurse, she just said she didn't know why someone called me again! Ummm, you people are killing me over here!!! She said that she was putting a note on my file for the embryologist to call me early this morning to give me the report, that way I'd know whether or not to head down (over an hour away). Needless to say, I NEVER GOT THE CALL! So in the car we went, FX the whole way that we wouldn't have to turn around mid-drive bc the embies had arrested ::eye roll:: Anyway, upon arrival, the nurse confirmed that YES, I was have a transfer today! Yay!
Ok, now the report: day 3 embryos are graded on a scale from 1-4, 1 being the best. A day 3 embryo should have 8 cells, all around the same size and little-to no fragmentation. Anything that falls outside of this would knock it down a number on the scale. BOTH of mine are of poor quality Embryo 1: grade 3, 3 cell, >10% fragmentation Embryo 2: grade 4, 6 cell, >50% fragmentation So, not great but not horrible. Jesus take the wheel, because I'm done for now!

@mich_elle I know that's a tough hit to take but look at all the positives - you made it to day three with not one but TWO embies! And they will continue to divide once they are in there. Did you transfer both of them back in? So you relax, take care of yourself, stay WARM, keep your socks on at all times, eat some pineapple core, and most importantly have faith Rooting for you!!
Ugh ladies... I’ve been waiting all day for the call to see if my embryos grew to 5 day blast but no call. So I called them and they said they embryology lab has listed that “I’ll get a call on Wed but by maybe Tuesday”. Love how they don’t realize that we are all anxious for results !
I know im just being impatient but The results of these embryos will determine whether I can begin frozen transfers of if I have to stim again... for the 5th TIME in 2018!
@mich_elle in my clinic anywhere between 6-10 cells on day 3 is considered good. Hope the transfer went smoothly! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@mayflower513 I think it depends how many IUs then your metabolism and body fat %. They say it has a half life every x amount of hours but it can’t be exactly the same for everyone! FX that trigger is out of your system and now the magic is happening!
Maybe test again on Thursday or fri? Or if you are like me...you’ll test again tonight, tomorrow and every day after that

@mayflower513 yes my ovidrel for IUI was out of my system in 6 days. I also metabolize quickly so it depends on the person but def possible (I know that from having to get THC out of my system once for a new employment drug test lmao). And you just reminded me to order internet cheapies to test my trigger out this time.. thank you lord for amazon prime
@sunny_side so annoying they are making you wait!! Hopefully they call you tomorrow, I say give a call back in the afternoon to check in again. I’ve decided I don’t care if my nurses think I’m annoying (as long as I’m polite about it) - I’m sure they’re used to it!
@leilee101 Yay! 9 is great. FX for day 5. @sunny_side You are not impatient, you want to know about day5. That is a big milestone. Call back tomorrow if you feel like it. I would be dying to know! @mayflower513 Congrats on your transfer plus 7 frosties. That is excellent. You guys are giving me the positive vibes I need to make it until tomorrow's report. I am all about the wondfos for my eventual FET. Good thing about FET is I won't have to worry about HCG clearing my system. @mich_elle Congrats on making it to day 3! I really hope those little embies develop for you and you get your BFP. @madasm0530 You are almost there. Ugh, it's so hard not to analyze! I have to tell my husband to cut me off from the computer if he sees me on there for too long. Are you our first May beta?
@mich_elle congrats on making it to transfer day!! So exciting
@mayflower513 it sucks they didn’t give you the grading information right away, but now that you’ve got it, it sounds great Happy for you! I feel like my clinic said that after they do the fresh transfer they just mail you a report of how many you have to freeze in like 2 weeks, which seems like a crazy amount of time to wait.
@leilee101 I’m glad your retrieval went well, and you’ve got great numbers so far! Hopefully they’ve got an update for you soon
AFM, When they called with my update yesterday they had me start Ortalutran immediately. I was expecting to start it that day but I thought I’d be taking it at the same time as my other shots. So now I’m stuck taking it just before 2pm every day, which means I’ll have to take it at work. Not super excited about that, but at least its a preloaded syringe so it’s the least complicated one. They were also testing my thyroid levels because my TSH was high for the initial bloodwork and it’s still high so I have to start taking a medication for that. I’m a bit confused about that because I don’t know why it’s high or how long I’ll have to take medication for it and such. They said it won’t effect this IVF cycle though, so I guess I’ll just have to follow up with my family doctor.

guys, i'm about to lose my mind. IF is such a mind fvck. i tested again this morning, stark white. I had taken an opk Saturday when I had cramping Bc I wanted to see the positive to show me that I couldn’t possibly be getting my period but that was negative too. @madasm0530 It's definitely a super difficult time mentally, and you seem to have as good a mindset as possible. Ultimately it only matters so much what happens while you wait, right? Either it's good news and you're happy or it's not and you're upset. No amount of not getting your hopes up is going to make you not upset about bad news, and you're not going to care much if you were "unnecessarily" upset early if it turns out to be good news. Sometimes the best thing is to just accept whatever is happening in your mind like "I am worried about this and that's reasonable, but everything could still be fine" rather than telling yourself not to worry. It isn't too much longer now. You're doing great, and it's great that you have a plan for how you want to receive the news. When so much is out of your control, it's a great idea to have control over that piece, since it has a big emotional impact. GL

Hi ladies! So I have been waiting for the time to be able to be a part of this feed as I too am doing IVF this month. I just had my egg retrieval Sunday and boy oh boy am I feeling it today. I will update my info on the spreed sheet but here is a little of my background...
Married 4 years ago, me and my husband have wanted children since we started dating and knew it was something we would try for right away. After 1 year of trying I got checked out, hypothyroidism. Try another year UGGHHH After that year we saw a fertility specialist, after a surgery for a heart shape uterus, we tried 4 IUI's no luck Now we are with a new doctor and proceeding with our IVF journey. After another surgery (endo cyst on left ovary and while in there found out right tube was closed, so that was opened up as well).
Up to date, egg retrieval was Sunday, 19 eggs retrieved, 12 mature, 8 fertilized. Now we pray for day 5 blastocysts!!!! It will be a freeze all cycle due to progesterone being high as well as with that many eggs I am in a lot of pain still today.

@madasm0530 2 more days till beta! Try not to stress and if you end up taking the HPT don’t be too hard on yourself! Good luck!
Monday is a big day! Can’t wait to read everyone’s updates!
I should get a call this Friday with a report of how many embryos they were able to do a biopsy and freeze.

great news on your embryos!!
Guys! All 11 eggs were mature and 9 of them fertilized. I'm so relieved! Transfer will be Friday, so hopefully we have some strong lookin' embabies by day 5
Yay @leilee101 That's great news! 9 fertilized?!? You go girl!! FX for you!
You're so strong @madasm0530! Good for you!
@retro_belle24 Awesome report! Whoot whoot!
BOTH of mine are of poor quality
Embryo 1: grade 3, 3 cell, >10% fragmentation
Embryo 2: grade 4, 6 cell, >50% fragmentation
So, not great but not horrible. Jesus take the wheel, because I'm done for now!

4 MORE FROZEN, for a total of 7! And I got the grading out of them.

I’m thrilled!
I know im just being impatient but The results of these embryos will determine whether I can begin frozen transfers of if I have to stim again... for the 5th TIME in 2018!

eta: @sunny_side I somehow missed your post! Ugh, omg is frustrating, I’m sorry they’re leaving you hanging! FX no news is good news.
Maybe test again on Thursday or fri? Or if you are like me...you’ll test again tonight, tomorrow and every day after that
@sunny_side so annoying they are making you wait!! Hopefully they call you tomorrow, I say give a call back in the afternoon to check in again. I’ve decided I don’t care if my nurses think I’m annoying (as long as I’m polite about it) - I’m sure they’re used to it!
It’s all good news around here so far
@mich_elle congrats on making it to transfer day!! So exciting
@mayflower513 it sucks they didn’t give you the grading information right away, but now that you’ve got it, it sounds great
Happy for you!
They said it won’t effect this IVF cycle though, so I guess I’ll just have to follow up with my family doctor.

i tested again this morning, stark white. I had taken an opk Saturday when I had cramping Bc I wanted to see the positive to show me that I couldn’t possibly be getting my period but that was negative too. Idk.. maybe I just metabolize it fast too? I did find something saying pregnyl should be fine after 5 days but of course I can’t find it again.
thinking of everyone!

It isn't too much longer now. You're doing great, and it's great that you have a plan for how you want to receive the news. When so much is out of your control, it's a great idea to have control over that piece, since it has a big emotional impact. GL

Married 4 years ago, me and my husband have wanted children since we started dating and knew it was something we would try for right away.
After 1 year of trying I got checked out, hypothyroidism. Try another year UGGHHH
After that year we saw a fertility specialist, after a surgery for a heart shape uterus, we tried 4 IUI's no luck
Now we are with a new doctor and proceeding with our IVF journey.
Excited to talk with you all
