I had my first ultrasound at five weeks showing yolk sac, went back for second and there was embryo with no heartbeat and then I see stuff like this Online  . "For example, if the initial ultrasonogram shows a gestational sac with a yolk sac and a follow-up scan obtained at least 11 days later does not show an embryo with cardiac activity, the diagnosis of failed pregnancy is established." I've already lost two pregnancies.

How far along were you for the second ultrasound?  Was the doctor worried at all?

I was 5 weeks and 6 days and I haven't even heard back from them

The ultrasound tech said there was an embryo and it had developed but couldn't see heartbeat so I may have to come back

The heart starts beating around 6 weeks so 5w+6d could be just a bit too early to see a heartbeat. If there was appropriate growth between your 2 ultrasounds I wouldn't worry about there not being a heartbeat at this time

I second this. And actually when I was pregnant with my daughter the first ultrasound established that I was 6 weeks 3 days along. They couldn't find a heartbeat at that time.

Thanks girls. Trying to stay positive but it's hard when I've had two miscarriages no living children. Just back to back
