Re: April 2018 IVF

  • @megmac2010 it definitely could be!!!! Fx so hard for you!!!! That is definitely a super long wait for a beta! Did you do a 3 day or 5 day transfer?

@beachbunnyxo123 the wait sucks but keeping busy. I take college classes online and it is finals week. On top of that my father in law builds and sells bunk beds so I help him with the selling part when there are festivals and such. It has been two weekends of back to back festivals. I am tired. How are you holding up.

  • @mandurz OH NO! That’s devastating news. I’m so sorry that was the outcome. I don’t know what your IVF package looked like but if you have another cycle, would your clinic consider 3 day transfers? I’ve read that the cultures aren’t always best suited to sustain growing embryos and they might do better in utero. Obviously this cuts out the possibility of pgs testing but keeps possibilities open. Sending you strength.

@northbeach3 I wish that was an option. My clinic doesn't do fresh transfers at all. They explained 3 yrs ago when we started that they have seen much better results giving the uterus time to build up a nice healthy lining after stimulation. He said that stimming can hurt the lining and not make it "compatible" for a successful transfer. I know many clinics do frsh transers but the FET side may be what this Dr is best at. I am just so unbelievably upset that we just threw 10k down the drain (for the cycle, the biopsy for genetic testing, and the meds) and have nothing to show for it.

I am so sorry! That is terrible news. I can't imagine how you must be feeling. Just when we think we've come to terms with this stuff, infertility finds a new way to bring you to your knees. I hope you can take the time you need to be angry and grieve and process everything before deciding what to do next.

Sending you some kind of vibes to help you be ok with being angry, disappointed, enraged etc? xo
  • @mandurz I am so very sorry to hear that news. I was refreshing all day for your update. Will you have a WTF appointment with your doctor? I’m sending you all of the hugs. I’m so very sorry.

I hope you’re still able to have a debrief with your RE and can consider if you’ll take next steps. I just remember hopingforlilbit from Jan IVF transferred two d3 embryos and got PG with twins.

  • @beachbunnyxo123 did you get your day 5 report? Any good news?
  • @megmac2010 we had 5 embryos make it to blast and they were all frozen and biopsied for PGS testing. Last IVF cycle I only had one (TW resulted in a CP end TW). I was shocked to say the least when they told me!
  • @beachbunnyxo123 that's wonderful news! Crossing all my fingers for the PGS! How long will the results take?

I've been getting faint positives for 5 days and this morning got my first non-squinter (10dp3dt). It's still a pretty light line, but I'll take it!
  • @megmac2010 it will take about 10 days. And congrats!!! That’s so exciting! When is your beta?
  • @beachbunnyxo123 not until Monday. The wait is ruining me. I'm obsessively peeing on everything. (Omg, my phone tried to autocorrect "everything" to "everyone"... that would have been awkward!)
  • mandurzmandurz member
@beachbunnyxo123 that is great you got 5! So happy for you!

@megmac2010 WOO HOO!! Honestly I know how you feel. TW with my last transfer that ended in a MMC at 10.5 weeks I had about 6 or 7 already at home and went to the store to get more because I was obsessed with POAS END TW Congrats on your non squinter!

  • @mandurz when will you talk to your doctor again? Any idea of any steps moving forward?
  • mandurzmandurz member
@beachbunnyxo123 right now I have a "what's next consultation" on may 23rd but I called and left a voicemail for my nurse to get some answers before that. I have one embryo and will not discount the idea that it could be the only one I need. So I want to find out what I have to do to get on with that and if they are gonna push for another ER...gonna ask them if they are willing to work with us since they didn't listen to my concern about there not being enough to even do the er in the first place.

  • @mandurz I'm really curious about your protocols. I think I remember you saying you have PCOS and egg quality issues. Have your protocols included DHEA and human growth hormone? What about inositol? I just can't believe that you got nothing this cycle. I want answers, so I can only imagine how impatient you are for them!

Meanwhile, I am starting to understand the bizarre compulsion people have to post pee sticks on the internet. I always thought it was so weird. But now, after 6 years of waiting and getting a strong positive this afternoon, I want to show the whole world pictures of things I peed on.

I'm fighting the urge. Promise. ;)
  • mandurzmandurz member
@megmac2010 yes I am super anxious to get answers. It doesn't help that I left a VM for my nurse Monday morning and have yet to get a call back. I called again this morning just to make sure she got the message, cuz one time the excuse was used that she didn't get my message. So a second one couldn't hurt.

I totally get the urge to post a picture. So what's your stick count up to LOL? I would go broke if it were my choice how many I used. But my hubby keeps me in check.

  • @mandurz 11? 12? I've lost count! But in fairness I tested out my trigger. So I'm not THAT obsessive. Although, I still have to wait until Monday for my beta, so I'm sure I have time to pee on more money.
  • My beta is this morning and I'm freaking out. Anyone else from April still in the game?
  • @megmac2010 good luck!!! Keep us posted!!

We we got our PGS results back and we have 3 normal embryos. I am super thankful and looking forward to our FET in June!

I got my beta results and it's not looking good. I've been getting positives - I got a positive in a clear blue digital yesterday. But my beta came back at 19.9. Looks like a chemical. I going in on Wednesday for another blood draw, but my hopes are zero. So bummed.

  • Thanks for the love everybody. I think this is harder than any BFN I've ever had. It's like a tease! Because I'm a sucker for punishment, I took a FRRR today to see if it was gone and I'm still getting obvious positives. Which is super annoying.

Ugh. Ugh to everything right now.
  • I had my second blood draw this morning. I always hear from the clinic by lunchtime the same day. It's now almost 3pm and nothing. This is just the cruelest joke the universe has ever played on me.
  • *lurking* @megmac2010 so sorry you're having to wait.  I have been there.  My call from second beta came at 430 pm and waiting for that call was the most anxious I have ever felt in my life.  I hope from the bottom of my heart that your results are better than mine were, but ultimately I hope they call you soon so it can stop dragging out your anxiety.
