Due date check in by week or weekly ticker change

ETA descriptions. 

Due date check in for your week would happen once a week, on a Monday or something. You would be checking in with people who are all within a week of your due date. 

Ticker change check in would happen on the day you start a new week. For example, I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. If we adopted the ticker change check in, I would check in every Wednesday when I start a new week. You would be checking in with people who were weeks in front of and weeks before you.

Can you include a description of ticker change in the OP? I think people new to BMBs often aren't familiar with the idea. 

(It means checking in the day you "roll over" to a new week--for example, I'm 6 weeks 0 days today, so I would check in on Tuesdays)

Pro of ticker change is a smaller group (divide people into seven threads instead of four) 
Either a pro or a con depending on your perspective is that you would have a mix of how far along people are (some are 5 weeks, some six, etc) so it's like a slice of the BMB. Not all in the same place in pregnancy.

The major pro for ticker changes is that it's easier to digest the thread. Honestly, I skipped over the vast majority of posts from my weekly due date thing because I just can't with all that lol. I'd rather read, respond to, and get to know 10-20 people in my ticker change than try to reply to what feels like 500 in a weekly thread.

So far weekly ticker change is in the lead by 6 votes. How long do you guys want to keep the vote going before a decision is made? I know part of November hasn't even gotten their bfp yet, so another week or so?

@wannaflickone / everyone -- Do you think we should just call it and start doing ticker changes? At the end of the month when most people have joined, we can do it again if more people seem to want the weekly check ins. Just my two cents...

Personally, I'm fine with whatever. I think getting the due date check ins makes most sense only because you're then talking to people due around when you are and are experiencing similar things as you. But, either way is fine!

So technically we're supposed to do the new weekly DD check ins today. Do you guys want to switch to ticker changes today, or should we continue with DD check ins? I'll update the organization thread with whatever you all think is best.

@offtoneverland It is 16 to 12 in favor of ticker change, so maybe we just go with that? We can't please everyone and I think in the end, it will all work out.

@wannaflickone I agree. I'll update the organization thread. Whoever has a new week that starts on Thursday can start our first ticker change today!

I'm new to all of this group stuff so thank you for explaining the difference. I am a Thursday person so I guess I will look for a Thursday group thread.
