My same vent as the STM post.  My head cold and not being able to take my beloved drowsiness inducing medicines to actually get a good night sleep LOL

    I have two today.

    1. The 'Draft Saved' pop up on mobile - that pops up right when I am ready to hit submit then takes foreeeeeever to disappear.

    2. People who decide to make major technology changes to meetings that are taking place on Wednesday, OVER THE WEEKEND. Which leaves me scrambling today and tomorrow to make sure we can make it happen. A little notice would be freaking great. Thanks.

I'm so angry at the dealership I bought my car from. In hindsight I should have seen how shady they were when within the first two months my Check Engine Light came on twice and both times they "fixed it" but since "their guy" did the work there was no documentation to provide on what work was actually done. Now here I am with a bad engine only 4 months after buying the car and not protected by lemon laws or a warranty (it expired in December.) I just wrote a bad yelp review for the first time in my life and it's oddly satisfying. I'm hoping maybe they value their yelp reviews and will contact me with a possible solution. I'm not against going to a lemon law lawyer and seeing if there's anything that can be done but I'd really like to not have to go that route, who has time for that?

I don't really do lemon law work so don't take this as legal advice per se, but there are usually enforceable implied warranties in addition to express warranties, so even if the express warranty is expired, it is very likely still covered by an implied warranty (since you were entitled to expect that the engine would continue to work for more than 4 months!) Sorry you are dealing with their shadiness on top of everything else, hopefully they will just do the right thing and you won't have to deal with seeing a lawyer.

@calimom2524 was it a dealership attached to a brand, like Ford, Chevy, etc.?

I ask because then you always have the option of contacting HQ.

Also, try BBB. A lot of companies take that seriously. Plus, look at other reviews and see if they’ve had similar problems.
  • Options
thanks @legallykate! I didn't know that, I'll have to look into that.
@dirtanddiamonds no it was a mom and pop type dealership, unfortunately. I've read all of their yelp reviews and many of them say they had issues within the first couple of months but "they were taken care of with great customer service." That's exactly how I felt too until finding out I have a bad engine. I really wish I had had the time to do all of this research beforehand. I was in a hurry because my insurance rental car was running out of time and I didn't have the money to extend it so I needed to get myself into a car. I thought I had found an amazing car and I'm actually really sad it's no good because I do love my car. I hope there's a solution here somewhere.

I was rear ended Saturday with both kids in the car. Luckily we are fine but I’m forseeing this to be a long process to get our car seats replaced and car fixed. The guy was driving a rental and still hasn’t called enterprise. I’ve pretty much have my hands tied till he calls. I’m afraid he doesn’t have insurance because he mentioned his insurance lapsing but that he did pay for insurance through enterprise...but when I talked to enterprise they seemed to not agree. Ughhhhhhhh

we were also supposed to trade in the car that day and get a van. With 3 kids I want push button doors like noooowwww.

oh no @hfooter that sounds awful!  Enterprise should take care of you regardless of what insurance he has right?  And your insurance company?  I'm so sorry that sounds like such a hassle!
  • Options
@hfooter - oh no! I'm sorry! So glad you and your kids are okay, that must have been scary! I'm sorry you're stuck in this waiting game, hopefully Enterprise is able to straighten this out with him.

ugh @hfooter that sucks!! I hope enterprise can help you! It would suck to have to pay your deductible out of pocket through your insurance on an accident that wasn't your fault. I hope they get back to you soon!

    Thanks for the love everyone.

Sounds like he didn’t have extra insurance through enterprise so I’m shit out of luck basically. He’s not returning my texts and wouldn’t pick up the phone from enterprise.

I looked him up and he’s been to prision for identity theft in 2016

Ugh @hfooter that makes me so angry, rental car companies should really have to make sure you are insured before renting a car to you. I hope your own insurance company doesn't screw you over too bad.

@hfooter sorry your even having to deal with this. I recently had to get my car seat replaced through progressive and it was incredibly easy. I purchased a new one at babies r us and emailed my rep the reciept and she issued the check the same day and mailed it out.
