Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO 3/5

This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. CD: 18.. hoping I get positive OPKs today.

WAYDTGKU: PNVs, Charting, Temping, OPKs, HIO

R/R: Rant: My temps have been so crazy and high, I thought it was just the weekend (alcoholic beverages and going to bed/waking up later) but todays was high too. I'm hoping I get a positive OPK today. Rave: No raves really

    CS/Q: It's a mess....

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts? I watched a little bit of the beginning. I haven't seen any of the big movies that were nominated as of yet. To me, the Oscars are kinda boring!
  • @Whitmore1027 I hope your thyroid panel comes back good! Waiting for test results is not fun. What kind of job did you get? Anything fun?
  • Month/Cycle: 24/17

    CD: 1

WAYDTGKU: Have an appointment with an RE and a hysteroscopy scheduled for next week, on top of our usual thing

R/R: Rave: AF finally showed up- this past cycle was (understandably) weird, so frustrating to wait for her when you know you’re not ku.

CS/Q: Restarting temping tomorrow at cd 2, figure I might monitor the next couple of cycles in case things are screwy.

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts? I didn’t watch it since I don’t really have tv, but I’m excited that The Shape of Water won- it was one of my favorite movies this past year. Guillermo del Toro, who directed it and also won best director, is a neat filmmaker who makes gorgeous movies- Pan’s Labyrinth is one of my all time favorites.

Also I missed the GOT question this past weekend, but I’ll answer anyway- Brienne and Arya are my favorites.
  • @Whitmore1027 Fingers crossed your test results are enlightening. Did you take the job at the daycare?

@meladams10 Fingers crossed for positive opk!

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: Opk, pnv, preseed, n&c

R/R: I guess my rave is I really don't mind mondays anymore. I stay home and I enjoy my little routine during the week. Rant is more bad weather is coming. I'm so ready for spring.

    CS/Q:

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts?
I watched until I was too tired and went to bed which is what I do every year. I enjoyed what I watched. I know people get annoyed with all the "politics" these days, but  I think if you go into it knowing it's gonna be that way it's not that bad. In all honesty if we're going to give them all our money they might as well be useful in speaking out against the bad stuff I guess.

R/R: Nothing really going on. I've scheduled a pick-up appointment for my car on Wednesday evening, but I haven't heard about which financing option I got. Hopefully, they will give me a call later on. I was hoping to have it tomorrow. I guess being an adult now (har har) is all about delaying gratification.

    CS/Q: -

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts? I thought they were over in February. I don't have cable either @Whitmore1027. My nights are spent cozying up with Netflix or YouTube.

@Whitmore1027 I'm glad you are ready to jump back in. I needed a bit of a break last week too. TW kids**I think seeing all the pregnant ladies out and about as well as having a sweet little creature in the office on Friday took a little bit out of me.** Sunshine always does it for me. Just laying out on the deck or taking the pup for a walk. Hope you can de-stress!

@meladams10 The Oscars are boring for me as well. Fx for positive OPK!

From yesterday's thread: @suzycupcake Hahaha! I can believe it. I don't think I've ever washed my car. I let Mother Nature do it for me. The features are pretty standard, but they are new to me. I have a rear view camera which is pretty cool and I am incredibly excited for remote start. It is necessary during a typical Canadian winter (which we haven't had this year).
  • @lin0442 Sorry for CD1 :( I was wondering if shape of water was good! So it's worth the watch? I'm not really a sci-fi type person but it looks interesting!
@rosebud332 Thank you! I'm ready for spring as well! I went to Kirkland's this weekend and got some artificial plants to bring some color into the house. Hopefully the weather won't be too bad where you are!
@Stargazer1lily I'm glad your ankle is feeling better! At least you did some arm workouts! Most people would've just said forget it and couch potatoed!
  • @meri-mac YAY for getting your new car! So exciting!!
  • @meladams10 FX you get positive OPK's today! Thank you! I got a job at PetSmart. It was my first job in high school and I worked there about 6-7 years. Then I left and worked in the corporate world a while. And so I decided it would be easy to get back into. I haven't worked their since 2012, and so it feels weird to go back. lol
@lin0442 So sorry about AF. Hopefully this cycle will be more stable for you! I love Brienne too! And Arya is a no brainer, haha.
@rosebud332 Unfortunately I was rejected from the daycare job. :( The interview went well, but I think they would have preferred someone with experience. I actually like Mondays too! It's like the start of a fresh week and I can get back into the schedule.
@Stargazer1lily I always hated that when I would start a workout regime, I would always get sick right into it or something and it would throw everything off and it would be hard to get back into it. Haha.
@meri-mac We have a hammock chair swing, and it's the BEST for sitting outside! I am so glad the weather is nicer here and actually low 70's. I needed it bad!

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts? nope... not really into these award shows

  • @meladams10 It’s good! Almost more of a romance/thriller movie than sci-fi, despite the monster in it. It definitely got me teary-eyed, but it’s a very hopeful and sweet movie. Hope you get your car soon :)
@whitmore1027 Congrats on the new job! I’ve heard good things about the Dave Ramsey stuff- it feels so. good. to get in financial shape. It gets rid of so much stress you didn’t even realize you were carrying around!
@Stargazer1lily It’s so tough to lose momentum on a workout plan! Glad your ankle is feeling better.

Honestly, I’m just glad af showed up so I can actually get my darn hysteroscopy done this month- I’ve been rescheduling this thing since November. I hope I don’t have a uterine septum or scar tissue, but I want to know to *tw* avoid more losses. I’d rather know and be able to do something about it than keep getting pg and losing the baby, if this is the problem.*end tw*

    CS/Q: Nothing to see yet.

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts? I watched the first half hour at my dad’s house. We don’t have cable either so I was unable to finish once we got home. I really want to see The Shape of Water!

@lin0442 I'm sorry AF showed up. I hope your appointments go well this week and you have some time to relax.

@Stargazer1lily Sorry you are still on the sidelines. Did your doctor say when you may be back on your feet? My fiance is a black belt and whenever his legs are sore from work, he just works on hand strikes and joint locks.

    @dragonette505 Enjoy your practise :smiley:

@eleven_ Fx for all the appointments!
  • eleven_ hope your ultrasound goes well... are they looking for anything specific?
  • @Whitmore1027 - congrats on the new (old?) job! I hope you feel comfortable getting back into the swing of working. We're trying to get our finances in order, too, so I understand how stressful it can be.

@eleven_ - Good luck with your testing!

@lin0442 - I was excited to get AF, too. That means I get to start my cycle - yay!

    Month/Cycle: 7/3

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: Gonal-F, Ovidrel, IUI, Endometrin. I've been taking Myo-inositol, NAC, and prenatals since mid-February.

R/R: Rant: come on, RE, please order my medication. I've been calling all weekend trying to get someone to place the order and I haven't heard anything back... getting nervous! I was supposed to start on CD 3 (which is today) but the pharmacist was closed over the weekend and they said I could start tomorrow. Said they'd call me but they haven't so I called them to remind them that - hey - I need my medications from California ordered and overnighted so I can start them tomorrow. Please and thank you.

    CS/Q: I got nothin'.

GTKY: The Oscars were on last night? Huh. I was watching Wayward Pines on Hulu and went to bed early because I had to work early today so... nope! Didn't watch them.
  • @whitmore1027 I know what you mean about being nervous to start work again. I stopped working for about a year and was really nervous to go back. I feel much happier now that I’m working again. I hope you end up liking it!
    @meladams10 FX for a + OPK today.
@lin0442 Good luck with your RE this week. I agree, WFAF is the absolute worst once you know you aren’t KU.
@rosebud332 My dad gets so worked up about the politics involved with all the award shows. It’s annoying to watch them with him.
@meri-mac I hope you hear about your financing options soon! I am not a very patient person so I usually call and bug people. I guess if being an adult is all about delaying gratification, I must be failing at that part of it  :D
@dragonette505 lol… this is the most boring part of the cycle! The ultrasound is screening for uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and evaluating antral follicle counts and ovarian volume.
@wishiwaspreggo Ugh!! Sorry you haven’t heard from your RE yet. I hope you hear from them today. How are you liking Wayward Pines? I read the first book and thought it just okay.

  • @lin0442 Dave Ramsey has already changed our lives 100X better. We got out of all credit card debt and paid off both our cars and other random debt. All we have left is student loans. His baby steps WORK and it gives us such peace of mind just being this far along. I can't wait to get out of debt completely!
@dragonette505 It's funny because I actually hope that my Thyroid levels are off, just so that my symptoms have a way to be treated. Haha. I know it's nuts, but it would be good to actually have a black and white reason why I feel like crap all the time and have for years. And I am sure I'll get used to working. I don't know why I am so bothered by it. But I just have to think about how I need to do this for the family!
@eleven_ What's funny is I have been doing part time jobs for a while, but haven't since November, and I don't know why it's bothering me so much now. Haha. It's a fairly fun and easy job, plus the store manager actually begged me on facebook to go work for him, so I felt obligated almost. Maybe that's why I am bothered...I don't want to disappoint him if I have to leave or something. hmm...
@galactickates So excited for you and your new home!! I always leave kitchen packing and unpacking to H, I haaate kitchen stuff, because it's just SO much. Haha
@wishiwaspreggo I hope you get your meds soon! That is super stressful!! :( Hopefully they are catching up from the weekend and will get those ordered for you asap!

    CD: 4

    WAYDTGKU: PNVs, charting, HIO

R/R: I had to go through DH's paperwork in our filing cabinet because he was clearly never going to do it and it was driving me crazy. It literally took me about three hours. He had just been throwing everything in one big pile for the last THREE YEARS. I guess my rave though is that now everything is labeled and organized by tax year.

CS/Q: This is only my second cycle temping. I'm still trying to figure out how sensitive my body is to changes. Is it more important to temp at the same time every morning, or after three consecutive hours of sleep? I need to check my copy of TCOYF.

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts? Nope, I don't have cable. I also caught up on the Walking Dead, @Stargazer1lily

@whitmore1027 Congrats on the new job!
@whishiwaspreggo Ugh, that sucks, having to wait for meds like that> Hopefully they manage to overnight them.

  • wishiwaspreggo OMG I would be STALKING someone for those meds (ive lost it a time or two over meds... not proud of it, but on the other hand, not ashamed cause i got my meds! lol)

eleven_ ah ok... so just making sure there arent any potential issues. I have an US on Wednesday too (to make sure my surgery worked).

galactickates so sorry AF found you! But so lovely you are all moved in! Nothing like that New House feeling. Actually, we've been in our place for years and i still love it :)

Whitmore1027 True! I have thyroid issued too, but i HATE treatment. Anytime a doc wants to goose up my levels it makes me go from hypo to hyper. My current doc says if i have to adjust my numbers she will see about having me take half of the lowest dose every other day or every few days since i cant seem to tolerate daily thyroid meds.
  • @eleven_ I am not very patient either. This is a test for me :D No word yet.

@galactickates Ooo settling into the new house! I would be giddy all the time (probably annoying DH to the max). I'm sorry AF is such a witch, but I'm glad life is good :)

@Spylon I know how you feel. I asked my fiance to get addresses for his side of the family for the wedding. His mom ended up doing it because he is such a procrastinator. He wanted to just do emails, so I took care of my family/friends and he can do whatever he wants with his!

@wishiwaspreggo Sorry your RE their dragging her feet. Hope you hear soon!

R/R: Rant: This is my first cycle off birth control pills, and I have no idea how long my cycle should be, so I've been using OPKs since Thursday hoping to see the lines start to darken, but nothing yet. :P Also, we're supposed to get a big snowstorm tomorrow night/Wednesday, blech. Rave: We went to my parents' for dinner last night and got to watch my parents' two dogs playing with my sister's two dogs, which was chaos and hilarious.

CS/Q: My temps the last couple days have been a lot lower than last week, but since it's my first month charting I'm not sure if that's my normal or just random or what.

GTKY: Did you watch the Oscars last night? Thoughts? I watched a little of the red carpet, but we didn't watch any of the show itself. We haven't seen any of the movies so I wasn't invested in it enough to tune in.

@lin0442 sorry about CD1, fingers crossed everything goes well with the RE

    @Stargazer1lily I'm glad your ankle's feeling better!

@meri-mac that's exciting about the car! I'm hoping we can replace my car sometime in the next few years.

@eleven_ good luck with the ultrasound!

@galactickates getting settled is such a great feeling. I'm glad the dogs figured out the dog door quickly, that's one thing I wish we could have but our yard isn't fenced in.

@Spylon ugh my DH does the same thing, anything paper just gets added to a pile. I have no idea what random stuff he's got stuck in his drawer at the moment. I don't think even he knows lol.

@meladams10 I'm sorry about the negative OPK :(
  • @meladams10 Oh honey I am so sorry about your negative opk! :( I've only used them one cycle so I don't have much advice for you. PetSmart is pretty fun place to work! The pets and other animals is what makes it fun. The pet parents are generally the rough ones to deal with Haha.

  • @eleven_ I was predicted to ovulate tomorrow, on CD19, which is typical for me. Last cycle I had 5-6 days of spotting before a 3 day light period, so I'm wondering if the way I entered that data through off my FW on FF?

    @fantasyflyte Thank you. :)
  • Thanks for the support, y'all. I heard from my RE and she placed the order with the pharmacist... now I am just waiting on another phone call to pay for the meds and have them shipped. Lucky me, they haven't called yet and I'm in meetings all afternoon so I get to embarrass myself by watching my phone and hoping it only rings between meetings but knowing my luck they'll probably call when I'm the middle of an important work-related conversation :P oh well, guess I gotta roll with it.

@meladams10 - sorry about your negative OPK! I don't really track often so I'm probably not of much help. I rely on ultrasounds to tell me what the heck is going on in my body. But it must be very frustrating. I had a false positive on an OPK once (when I was trying to time a natural cycle) and that was a sucky situation since I rely on IUI and donor sperm. Bleh. It really sucks that this isn't more of an exact science.

@meladams10 Your chart is a little hard for me to read because of all of the discarded temps. You could have O'd on CD16 depending on how accurate that discarded temp is. I'm sorry, I'm a little new to temping, but I'm trying to be helpful. Honestly, I try not to have more than 1 drink around O time if I want an accurate chart. It sucks that drinking can affect your temp so much  :( Hopefully someone who is more experienced at charting can chime in and give you some advice.

  • @wishiwaspreggo Hopefully you'll get that call at a time when you can step out! A false positive, oh my!! I don't even know if I knew that was a thing with OPKs. TTC is not for the weak.. ugh
@eleven_ I unmarked my temps and put the chart in the spoiler. I just don't know how correct it is. It would mean I ovulated on the 4th and the 27th of February and I don't even think that's possible? Still learning! Unfortunately I didn't start OPKs until 3/2. You're right though... I probably shouldn't drink during my FW.

  • @suzycupcake I used a digital this morning. I should probably just use digitals every time but goodness they do add up quickly but I guess they're worth it. I used a mixture of tests this month which I may have learned the hard way that it's not a good idea to do that!
  • @suzycupcake I am sort of happy it's part time, but then again not...I won't really get to see my H at all since I'll be working once he gets home from work, and I'll be working on his days off. No more family outings. :( No results yet. I just found out that they won't give them over the phone, which I am reallly mad about right now. They told me the results would be in Monday or Tuesday...but I don't have a follow up appointment until the 15th. WHY would it be important to get the results back Monday or Truesday, if I don't get to know what they are until I go in for a follow up? (I get it's if there is a red flag of sorts that they would call, but I doubt with these labs that they would feel the need to call for a medical reason.) • @meladams10 I would start monitoring your CM and plugging it into FF. That might help you determine when O is near. I would keep using your OPKs for the next few days also. It seems weird to me that last month you O'd so late, but this month it came so early.

  • @meladams10  Did you notice anything with your cervical fluid? with your temps being so out of range that would definitely help... If it were me, I would keep using opks for now (I test twice a day because morning opk's don't normally do it for me unless its digital) and see if you notice any FQCF (unless you already noticed it but just didn't chart it. Last question... what are your normal baseline temps? For me typical baseline is 97.7/97.8 and I can tend to discard any temps lower than that. If I have a wonky chart I can still usually find a pattern by discarding the super LOW temps and leaving alone the high...

@meladams10 - it is possible, even though february's a short month. how long are your cycles usually? My FP is usually between 11-15 days and I have a shorter LP so it can be possible. Maybe start monitoring your CM? I usually start checking it around cd 7/8 and start OPK's early if I start to see fertile CM or I will use the OPK optimizer in FF as a start date if I haven't seen fertile CM by that day. I'm so sorry you're having such a bad cycle. *hugs*

  • @meladams10 I am so sorry. Trust me, I am not that strong at all. Everyday I have a moment to myself where I cry a little bit about the difficulty of this process. If it wasn't for you ladies and my fiance, I don't know how I would be surviving. I think it is completely normal. You just have to have your cry and get back to your day. Focus on something you love to get you through it <3
