@derbysquirrel my husband had surgery two weeks ago. By the end of the first week I waned to strangle him. Just remember that the jail time isn't worth it!

@doctormom33 I’m so sorry about your friend. He is heartbreakingly young.
@rocknrollmom omg thank you for updating us! I’m so sorry you’ve been through so much, but I am glad you went to the ER when you did. I hope the symptoms go away soon!
DH, DS, and I went to Pasadena today to meet up with a friend of mine from college that I haven’t seen since graduation 5 years ago. She’s now in SF working at google, but has meetings down here occasionally, so we had lunch at our favorite Mexican spot. it was nice!
I joined a local mommy fb group pretty recently and though I haven’t made it to a playdate yet, they’re having a mom’s night tonight to start a local bunco group. I played once with my mom’s bunco group last fall and it was fun but everyone was at least 60, so playing with ladies my age should be a good time. I’m a total introvert though, so I’m already nervous because I know no one! Eek.

@rocknrrollmom so happy to hear that you're doing better. I had a tbi 15 years ago, and what I learned i that neuro issues tend to take a while to heal, and to try to take it easy as long as possible. Its frustrating not to heal super quick, but at least you have an explanation to your symptoms. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
@elsieisamoocow I joined my local moms group when my daughter was young and it was the best decision, I have made so many friends and have a great support system. I wish I would have known about it when my daughter was born because I felt very isolated
My DD’s birthday went great today. They are still going strong. Isn’t skating supposed to knock them out. Lol.
And me and MIL made plans to go to Panama City Beach for spring break. That’s where SO is. And we will all drive back because he’ll be done. Yayyyy. So I’m excited. He sent me pictures of him playing dolphins today while fishing. I’m so jealous. So the MIL and I were like we gotta go.
@ecwk lol it’s an old lady dice game. Everyone puts $5 in the pot to play and the winners take home money. Pretty simple, and it can get really competitive!
@melissaf22 good to know! After DS was born I made a few friends from our Gymboree class, but several moved away, and several went back to work, so I really only see one of them occasionally now and it kinda sucks. I need friends! Hoping I click with the ladies tonight.

@doctormom33 you are definitely strong for going to see him. I am not sure I could do it. So tough. Hugs.
@rocknrrollmom sorry to hear your experiencing this especially while pregnant. Hugs.
I am sitting in my bed exhausted. We went to a bday party and now I feel warn out. My DD and I were supposed to go to a Dr. Suess event tomorrow, but I don’t think I am going. I want to just bum around the house before the beginning of the work week. I have been feeling stressed out this week. We are looking for a new home and it is taking a lot of energy. Although it is definitely something I want to do, I am wonder if we are crazy doing this while I am pregnant? This pregnancy has definitely been more stressful.
Any body buy a home while being pregnant? What was your experience? We are also struggling with the decision to sell our home or to keep it for now, to make the transition easier. I am afraid we may sell our home before we find a home. I don’t want to be in limbo and we don’t have family here that we can stay with for the time being. Just so many decisions to think about.
@ssthomps You can sell your home with a contingency that it won't be final before you're able to secure a home to buy. That can work out well so there's no time in limbo. The sellers of our current home did that, but they couldn't find a home that they could afford, so after a few months they ended up moving in with her family so that they could forgo the contingency and sell the home to us. So the whole process was like 2-3 months long, but it ended up working out for us. That's my fear though, when we go to sell and buy a new house (which I hope to do by the end of the year...), because we don't have any family we could stay with either. We'd have to find a hotel with good weekly rates or something, and that's just a lot of money that could add up.

I didn’t know this. We were told we could do an extended close (60 days) but not a contingency. We have also thought of options if we sold our house first and it does seem like it will be very expensive. My DH thinks we can rent an apt at a complex that makes you pay a little extra to not have a lease. That just seems like a lot of moving to me.
@ssthomps depending on your buyers you can also rent back from them. We did this, we sold and it took us a bit to find a house. We were able to fast track our closing, and our buyers had some sort of complicated loan or something so theirs was looooong, but we still were short a few weeks, esp since we needed to do the floors before moving in. So after we closed we stayed a few weeks and paid them the proportion of their mortgage (which was higher but was still worth it).
I’m very hormonal and getting upset over the silliest things. We took the kids to marvel live today, it was dh gift to them for Xmas... we each get them a gift just from ourself in addition to all the gifts from us both WHICH I PICK OUT AND BUY AND EXECUTE AND WRAP 100%. Which I’m honestly fine with bc I like it, and he’d want to cheap out on the holiday. But today was finally the show he got them tickets for. And ‘daddy? Your Christmas gift was the BEST ONE.’ Thx kiddos. im more upset about it than is remotely fair lol.
And then the babybox registry, I did it mainly wanting the tea collection coupon and didn’t get one, even though my also pregnant sis did. Annoying, but whatever. Turns out that sis told my OTHER sis who is decidedly not pregnant to start one too for the coupon. And SHE got one. Basically in tears over this. Being posted and annoyed is valid but I’m stewing to an irrational level.
@doctormom33 I’m so sorry about your froend. I hope that his remaining time is peaceful and comfortable, and that he and his loved ones can have all the goodbyes they need. Awful. Way too young, just awful.
Good morning ladies! I’ve got a super fun day, 24 hour urine panel and laundry lol! We might take DS to the park today though, it’s supposed to be in the 60s today and he’s never been on a real swing before so I’ll probably be back this afternoon to AW it up. Hope you all have a lovely day!
Morning, ladies! So the bunco party last night went well. I was so nervous and kind of wanted to introvert out of it but I’m glad I went. Lots of nice ladies with kiddos of all ages, but most have toddlers, so I’m going to start going to their play dates too. Also met a lady who is pregnant and due in late August! Oh yeah, and I got the lowest Bunco score (yay me lol) so I won my $5 back

Hi guys. I slept horribly because of my head cold and feel so blah today. My parents took DS out to lunch and to paint pottery for a few hours. I hate not being able to take meds!
Spent yesterday replacing the filters/ cleaning the dyson vacuum, and helped to replace two of our ceiling fans. Dh left today for two weeks, so I am spending the rest of the day relaxing and eventually cleaning the bathrooms. Eventually.
@doctormom33 I am so sorry about your friend. How are you doing after seeing him?
@rocknrrollmom wow! That's so scary! I'll send lot of good juju that your next scan is clear
We had a wedding this weekend and so I was really busy from that (traveling, family, ect). We'll be traveling the 4 hrs back home today so we will probably get pizza for supper (yay I don't have to cook!).
Thanks for all the support you all. Been a tough weekend.
TW: visit with my friend went well. He was in pretty good spirits and eating and sitting up, so overall looked good. This is the first time I've had someone my own age pass away in this way (not just in a car accident or something). It's pretty terrifying, but he is handling it as well as could be expected. I did melt down a bit when he said, "people my age are supposed to be picking out groomsmen and godparents, but I'm picking my pallbearers." Just puts things in a different perspective I guess. Has me really pensive today.
@ssthomps we moved while I was pregnant and it’s not for the faint of heart. We ended up moving before trying to sell and that worked out best for us. Since we had three cats at the time, it felt impossible to try and keep the house clean and staged. It worked out and we sold the old house within a week of it being on the market. Which was a small miracle since that was in early 2014 before the housing market picked back up. Finding a house we liked, packing, waiting on inspections and work that needed to be done, getting screamed at on the phone by a crazy contractor, closing getting delayed over and over... it’s not an easy process but I can’t imagine doing all of that with a newborn in tow. So, ultimately, I’m glad we did it before baby.

Wow definitely puts it into perspective. Thanks for your insight.
@pghctwife was the tea coupon good? I had one but trashed it bc tea is expensive (to me). I only had one tea item last time and it was nice and soft though. I'm pretty sure it's still in my bin though.
I'm excited! I found a place I can get the pump I want without an upgrade fee AND they provide kiinde pouches instead of the lansinoh bags! I for real get 300 lansinoh bags with each refill so I'm glad I can do kiinde this time!!!! Hooray for fewer dishes!!!
Also, the newer lansinoh bags can be pumped in to directly if you use spectra. The zipper seal is tight enough that it just slips up over the shield and holds even if the bag is full.
I always think of stuff I forgot. I completely popped out two days ago. I was able to hide my bump under a sweatshirt or loose shirt....not anymore. Literally in one day my back started hurting as well as the front of my pelvis Can't lay on my stomach anymore either.
@coffeecocktailsandcake the same thing happened to me the last few days. Its like I could see my stomach growing because it was happening so fast. Tried to half sleep on my stomach last night with my body pillow like usual, and my back is killing me today. Everything itches too from all the stretching!
We had a joint second birthday party today at my house with four of our baby friends from our Centering group. I am so thankful every day that I chose to go that route when I was pregnant with DS! I have my first centering appointment for this pregnancy this Tuesday!!
@doctormom33 Thanks for asking! It went better than I thought it would, I think. I got her a little "congratulations" card that I re-wrote to a birthday greeting for "grandma". I don't think she got it at first, but my husband actually said, "Yes, it means what you think." and then it finally clicked.
But she immediately went on and on about how she's going to have to save her money for buying things. I told her that I don't want much and I don't want her to go overboard, because my own buying is going to be minimal. I think by keeping the gender a surprise might help with curbing her spending, because it's not as widespread as specific boy/girl stuff. And she doesn't have a computer or internet, and she doesn't ever go down to Evansville much unless she has to, so maybe that'll help too.
@coffeecocktailsandcake I think so - it’s $25 off $50+! It is kinda $, but it hold value decent on bst, and I love the designs - and it washes well and hands down (my boys are messy and dirty so that is important!) and I like their look for my boys - it’s hard to get cute boy stuff as they get older.
but I wanted to get baby girl a couple soft rompers for the early days, and she’s my last so I’m trying to get more secondhand. So this will be a nice way to treat me... I mean her
ive been eyeing this one. Another release is coming lasted this month so I’ll pick another then too
@ecwk how does the Centering group work again? Was it st your hospital?
Yes it was though my OB office! We would meet in a group instead of individually. We would each have alone time with midwife and she would use the Doppler and measure our bellies etc. We would test our own pee with the strips and the medical assistant would weigh us and do our BP. Then we would sit in a group and the midwife would lead the discussion on whatever the topic was. There was always Q&A time and then after the babies were born we had a final session and we all brought the babies. There were 8 of us originally and 4 of us are still very close!!
@ecwk My first Centering appointment is Tuesday, too! I'm starting to get really excited.
And mine is through the midwife group at the university hospital. I could opt in if I wanted to, otherwise I'd just continue with traditional appointments. They didn't have the option when I was pregnant with DS, so this is my first time doing it. It means I'm switching midwives now, but the midwife running the group is the one who delivered DS, so I'm not too worried about it.
@rocknrrollmom so scary! I’m glad that you went in though. Imagine if that would have went undiagnosed! Now you can be more aware
we had had a busy weekend, mostly just running around though nothing important. DS is getting a very bad habit of needing to nap in our bed. Need to break that ASAP.
August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB
My husband developed an eye infection last week and got a prescription for eye drops on Friday. The dr said that I could use them if I felt like I was getting the infection over the weekend. My eyes got red and itchy yesterday so I started using them. Th dr said they were totally fine in pregnancy, but I researched tonight and they're a class C drug and now I'm freaking out!!!! I emailed my OB and won't use them anymore till I hear back. Ugh!
