DH is working today, 5a-2p unless he has to stay late. DS woke up and told me “I’m can’t sleep, I’m just so excited for my friend’s bowling party later.” I’m debating on doing a grocery run since DS woke me up at the asscrack of dawn.
Tomorrow we have a nephew’s birthday party at a skating rink, and we might start tearing apart the laundry room since we didn’t last weekend. DH isn’t working tomorrow, but he is on call if something breaks at work.
Cleaning the house today even though we had cleaners come Thursday. Having a joint birthday party for DS tomorrow with 4 other kiddos and I need the house to look some way decent! Weather too shit to do much!!
DD is snoring and it’s 7:30 here. She’s always up by 7 at the latest. Am I dreaming? I can’t even remember the last time I was still laying in bed at 7:30.
Ugh we slept in the basement last night because of the winds and we have a lot of big trees. So that on top of having a nasty head cold I am just beat. We have bday party at 9:30 and DH has drill and I don’t know what to do. It’s 30 min away and DS has already had a meltdown when I mentioned not going. I hate upsetting him but I just want to sleep.
DS was up at 5:30 today. Ugh. He was whining/crying, I gave him a bit then went into his room. Then he just giggled and was ready to party. Our favorite diner is 2 blocks away, so we went and got breakfast. We are heading to the Home and Garden show downtown in a little bit. It’s supposed to be close to 50’today, so DH will probably try to do some cleanup in the yard and probably a walk later on!
Today I’m going to see a musical with my mom. It’s based on Gloria Estefan music, and that’s all I know about it. Should be fun, though. Then I’m going to a basketball game with my dad tomorrow night. It’s for his birthday, which was a month ago, but I wanted to pick a weekend game that was also a bobblehead night.
The weather is nicer, so I’m sure we’ll get outside at some point this weekend. Church tomorrow, as always. Pretty busy weekend for me. I really should do lesson plans, but I’m not salaried, so I’m not paid to work on the weekend.
I wanted to sleep in this morning but my cats required food so they woke me up. H has been out of town and he gets back tonight - yay!! I imagine I will do some laundry, elliptical, dance, and work on a grad school assignment. I may hit up the grocery store if I'm feeling productive and have time.
I may just skip it though and say I was too busy so we get pizza tonight
Yoga and panting the nursery today and then going to see Mamma Mia at a dinner theater place in town tonight!
TW: Heading a couple hours out of town tomorrow to visit a dear friend who is in hospice. He's 28 and has advanced metastatic cancer and was given 8-10 weeks to live a couple weeks ago. Its pretty terrible. Knowing that we are basically going to say goodbye is very strange, and I'm not really sure how I am going to react...but obviously this isn't about me. Just sharing my thoughts.
I'm up early trying to get work done. I was hoping for a work-free weekend but some crap piled up in my my other cases while I was focused on my hearing so no can do. DH had to work midnight to 8 am so he should be home soon and is bringing me breakfast He's going to have to sleep at least until mid-afternoon so I will work and then maybe do some baby shopping with my mom.

So my one DD’s birthday was 2 weeks ago (13) and my other one’s is in 2 weeks (8) and we are having a joint bday at the skating rink today. Because I’m too tired to do two so close together. Lol. They don’t seem to mind.
Have like a million people coming. Thankfully it’s only from 1-3, so when time is up, it’s like GO AWAY people. Lol.
I'm finally home from the hospital, yay!! I went in on Wednesday because of dizziness and vertigo that was ongoing for about a week at that point. They took a cat scan on Wednesday and found out that there was a bleed in my brain. I was transferred to a different hospital where they have a bigger neuro center and better ob center. After the transfer, I sat in ER for hours while they scheduled me for an mri. The mri showed that a bleed occurred the week prior but stopped and the excess blood was causing dizziness and loss of function in my arm. I had no head trauma so they were thinking it was going to be a tumor or cancer but those were ruled out. I was in the icu for about 24 hours for monitoring and then went to a regular bed for another day and was discharged yesterday. There are many more invasive tests that could be done but come with radiation or are otherwise unsafe for baby so they just want another mri done in a month to check up on it. So terrifying but thank goodness it's not worse! So happy to be home and back here!! Oh, and listen to you body- if you know something isn't right, go and get checked out even if your doc doesn't think it's urgent.
We have our friend and her three daughters arriving from France to stay with us six days. We agreed to this before I was pregnant- I love them, but honestly not feeling the idea of having so many people in my house. I have a hard time decompressing with people over. They leave Thursday of next week, and the following Monday or Tuesday one of my husband's army buddies is coming with his wife for a few days. Thankfully by the time the visits are all done, it will practically be spring break for me.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@rocknrollmom I’m glad everything is ok but that all sounds so terrifying!!
i am finally getting my hair highlighted since I am in the second trimester finally....good bye roots and stupid grey hairs! That’s really all I have planned for today but I am super excited
@rocknrollmom so scary. I’m so glad you went in! Keep us updated on how you’re feeling.
@doctormom33 that’s so sad. I’ll be thinking of you and your friend.
I’m just catching up on laundry today and I think we’ll take DS to the park. We also have a birthday party this afternoon for One of DS’s friends. I’m hoping to get a walk or workout in as well.
@doctormom33 I'm sorry about what your friend is going through! Thinking of you guys today
As for me, it's getting slightly better each day. I still don't have full function of my arm quite yet. And instead of being dizzy 24/7, I'm now just completely off balance while I try to walk. Definitely better but not recovered yet. They said its kind of like a bruise- it will take a few weeks for the excess blood to absorb and that's when the symptoms will be completely done. The scariest part is that I didn't even do anything to cause it, none of the risk factors pertain to me so not really sure how to avoid another one
@doctormom33 I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, that's so young. Basically my sentiment is, "Fuck cancer."
@rocknrrollmom Oh wow! I'm so glad they found out what the problem was, and I'm crossing all the things for your full recovery.
Nothing momentous for us this weekend, it's supposed to be sunny, and warmish, and no bloody rain for once. So, tonight we're taking my mom out for her 71st birthday dinner at her favorite restaurant. Normally I'd be excited, but chicken is still not really smelling or tasting good, and their signature dish is fried chicken. Hopefully my body finds it palatable, if not, at least they've got delicious sides I can fill up on.
I'm also telling my mom I'm pregnant after dinner, because it's getting harder to hide why I'm at a doctor every week, and I might as well bite the bullet. I got her a cute "grandma" birthday card, we'll see how long it takes for her to put it together in her head.
I took my grandmother out grocery shopping and to eat dinner yesterday afternoon and all she wanted to talk about over dinner was, "Do you think you'll ever get pregnant again? It's too bad you lost the one, but maybe if you were healthier it would have lived." I just wanted to strangle her so bad. I basically told her, no, I don't plan on trying again (which technically isn't a lie), and told her it was insensitive of her to keep asking and that it's none of her business. So telling my mom after dinner after we've already dropped grandma off saves the 500 questions while we're trying to eat mom's birthday dinner.
Tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer, so, I think there's going to be some sunbathing out in the driveway to recharge my "sun batteries", they're sorely empty these days. And there's just nothing like a sunny day to cure all that ails your heart and soul.
And somewhere between all that I'm washing sheets and towels and line drying everything, cause I love the smell of line dried sheets.
@doctormom33 I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I'm thinking of you today. @rocknrrollmom Wow that sounds so scary!!! Big hugs to you while you recover. I had some pretty terrible episodes with vertigo twice in the past year and had to go in for an MRI as well. They thought I might have MS (which isn't off the table as a diagnosis yet) but now they're pretty convinced it's because I suffer from pretty terrible migraines and it's effecting some areas of my brain. Do you have any other issues with your head like migraines? Have you ever gotten dizzy like that before? So scary!
@doctormom33 I’m so sorry. Thinking of you and your friend today.
@rocknrrollmom so glad you listened to your gut and went to the ER. Your OB should be ashamed for brushing off your concerns. Hope your next MRI shows nothing and it just resolves itself.
DS was up at 5:30 today. Ugh. He was whining/crying, I gave him a bit then went into his room. Then he just giggled and was ready to party. Our favorite diner is 2 blocks away, so we went and got breakfast. It’s supposed to be sunny and a decent temperature today, so hopefully we will be able to play outside a bit!
@doctormom33 that’s such a heartbreaking situation, I’m so sorry.
@rocknrrollmom how scary! I’m so glad you listened to your body and instincts and got it checked out! I hope everything continues to look good from here on out!
If DS2 will go to sleep, I have an opportunity for a nap! A real life nap!!!! H is outside doing some work and playing with DS1. Of course, this is the day DS2 decides to kick, babble and yell in his crib...
@scottishlass1213 Who schedules a birthday party for 9:30 in the morning on a weekend?! Yuck!
DH set up our Roomba finally, and that's now going upstairs where we have hardwood floors. I'm cleaning downstairs because we have the flooring installer coming to finalize plans for having LVP put in downstairs where we currently have gross carpet.
DH is still struggling a bit post surgery, but mostly with sleeping. He hasn't had decent sleep since Wednesday night, and it's really wearing on him. I wish there was something I could do to help, but I don't think that there is. I know his plan for the weekend is to not leave the house. I should probably go grocery shopping, though, which we usually like to do together.

Hi ladies! *waves* I haven’t checked in in a couple days, just busy and tired. We have done a bunch of nothing today. Trying to clean and I have to hit the grocery store later today. Tomorrow I have brunch with my two fave mommy friends and might go to my Taiko drum practice. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
@lalala2004 is it On Your Feet? It’s so good, you will love it!
DH's lack of sleep is making him into a bit of a butthole. I'm trying to be patient, but I'm starting to get irritated at how ungrateful he's been today. I've been cleaning and running him errands all morning, and he's barely acknowledged me or said thank you. It's wildly out of character for him, so I'll let it go for just a little while longer.
