@May14th2011@sabby2 thanks! I've just been so worried that if we don't get a washer with like 20 different wash settings and rinse options, I won't be able to make diaper laundry work.

Out next door neighbors NEVER move their cars into their garage or driveway (even though there is room) so every time it snows, the road right in front of our house never gets plowed and the snow gets shoved into our driveway. Pregnancy might be making me irrationally upset about it but it so freaking annoying.
@amphibious the only washers or dryers that ever annoyed me with cloth diapers were a super old dryer that wouldn't let me dry on low heat for longer than 30 minutes. I had to restart it an additional 2 times to get the diapers dry. (Low heat helps preserve the elastic/covers.)
Also a washer that wouldn't let me add on an additional rinse as part of the wash cycle. (I had to wait til the wash cycle finished to press the rinse button.)
Having to restart the appliances (which were in our basement) multiple times was annoying and made the whole process take longer because sometimes the diapers would sit half finished while I was out of the house or busy.
In our new house I bought fairly basic/cheap washer and dryer but the washer allows me to select "extra rinse" at the outset and the dryer allows for extended low heat drying. This has made it soooo much easier because the whole process now only requires 3 trips to the basement as opposed to 6.
Helpful hint: CD wash routines shouldn't require an additional rinse. The amount of detergent needed to clean human waste or other heavily soiled laundry is designed to wash and rinse out using just you typical heavy duty setting.
Ok, so educate me please, cloth diaper pros. I could NEVER get the hang of it. Mine are always leaking. Always. And I feel like he's hot in them or I'm making him uncomfortable pulling them too tight trying to keep him from leaking. What's my problem? The bulk of mine are Charlie Bananas and adjustable for size (it's a pain in the rump to adjust them), I have like 2 Bumgenius, and a set of LBB. Do I have crap brands or is it, as I suspect, user error?
@Austenista so it would depend why the diapers are leaking. Fit issue versus leaking because of repelling due to bad wash routine, diaper cream that's not CD safe. Compression leaks are also a thing with cloth diaper. I noticed that if I had a onesie on and then I would note it around the leg gussets.
@dinodna3 I'm not sure what you mean by adjustable rises. My CB's have the plethora of buttons on the front and then in the legs they have adjustable sizers like bra straps. They're ridiculous hard to adjust too, I use a pointed nail file to pull them up for adjustment.
@sabby2 could be fit or bad wash routine, not a diaper cream issue, DS stayed constipated his first year due to formula and so I rarely used the stuff. I think I can say I never needed it while I was attempting to CD.
@Austenista I guess it’s that leg hole adjuster strap that is comparable to the rises on the BG ones. I knew I needed to up the rise (in turn the leg hole) when I would get leaks. I also needed to add borax to my wash routine because I have hard water and it was affecting the absorbency.
Yeah, I'm not super familiar with Charlie banana diapers. Let me see if I can find some good info on them.
Eta: my guess would be that the fit would need to be double checked but also some inserts aren't as absorbant such as microfiber. You might need to adjust how many inserts or type (hemp, bamboo, charcoal, cotton, ect) for more absorbancy.
I went on a HARDER hike today in Runyon Canyon. It was so hard lol but like half the dogs in LA were off leash on the hike so that was super fun. DH was really patient going slow with me. And he lured me to the top with strawberries lol. Pics (with insane hair DH did not inform me of) in spoiler:
@dinodna3@sabby2 I've been tempted to sell my entire stash and start afresh with a different brand. I hear good things about Grovia and obviously Bumgenius. I know people love cloth and I've found it to be nothing but frustrating so I feel like it's me + the diaps I have.
@Austenista we use Grovia and Best Bottom exclusively. I tried prefolds and pockets but ended up liking All In 2 much better. We use Grovia ONE for bedtime diapers. Love those!!
@doxiemoxie212 I admire your pregnant hiking ability! I cleaned our upstairs bathroom (minus the shower and scrubbing floors) andy hips and belly were so sore.
@dinodna3 IDK either! I go VERY slowly. Like, old ladies pass me. DH kept saying to me during the hike, “do it for the ‘gram beebs! You’ll get good pics at the top!” And I kept saying to myself, “exercise does not kill you..” lol different strategies.
@sabby2 I'm shooting for a very similar stash! I've heard the grovia ONE are magic for overnight. And we're gonna try buttons which are basically the same as best bottoms but I like the price and the prints better.

@ffw0617 Do you have the links to the You Tube videos you used to learn how to put on the kinesiology tape handy? I'm thinking I want to try that. I've been having a lot of pain at the end of the day (by around 3 or 4), maybe this will help.
@LaceyBee522 also you can wear the tape for 3-4 days. I usually wear it for 3 days, and when you shower on the 3rd day your baby oil and it comes right off.

And Sabby is correct that an additional rinse at the end shouldn’t be required with a good routine. A prewash is necessary though
ETA: My stash is pretty much exclusively BG. I had major leak problems with Glowbugs, so I sold
all those off.
Look like this:

@doxiemoxie212 Girl, idk how the heck you are hiking with spd. I just have hip and sciatic pain and hiking sounds like torture.
