@ecwk I’d be so furious!! At least she was apologetic about it.
@dirtanddiamonds yay for baby kicks and flutters!! How far along are you now?
DS was up at 6:30, so DH got up with him. I can’t fall back asleep, so I’m just laying here. We are making pancakes and bacon this morning though, so the sooner I get up, the sooner I can eat!
Our teenage helpers came back to help take my husband to the gym. They also fed my cats and walked my dog. Now I get to lay in bed without any of the boys (husband or pets) bothering me.
Pretty happy about that.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
DS took a nap after we got home yesterday, then woke up with a 102F fever. Then DH came home from work, said he doesn’t have to work Sunday (today). Got called back in at 8:30 last night and got home around 12:30am. He also has a fever. I’m really hoping it’s not the flu. DH slept downstairs on the couch to let me get some sleep, but DS was up half the night. I’m running on maybe a few hours of sleep. Now I have to get up & dressed since my parents are dropping their dog off soon. Hopefully DH, DS, and the dog will curl up together and sleep all day.
@lolog531 we’re doing pancakes too once I manage to get my butt off the couch lol!
I was surprised the bump admins removed the image from our most recent troll, guessing because of all the personal info. Or the weird nudie pic.
It’s going to be like 50 here today so we are getting the eff out of this house! I’m taking DS to get his hair cut then to the park! Laundry and cleaning can wait right?
Hi ladies! I didn’t log in at all yesterday. We were up early to drive to the Henry Ford museum, which was very cool. Chilling in the hotel room and then heading to Third Man Records because DH has a man crush on Jack White, lol. DS has been such a great little traveller and slept all night! Hooray!
I’m impressed with all of you and your cleaning! I seriously need to do that.
Ugh. Why do people think they can announce a pregnancy when it’s not theirs. Sometimes I really hate social media. My mil is a big gossip (she pretends not to be but she is) but she has kept it a secret or asked if she could tell someone.
@ecwk OMG - I would be raging mad. Good thing that post wasn't up long enough. @jsnakehole Man. I should look into this 'teenage helper' thing - I have a ton of ex students I could ask.
My allergies decided to be an asshole starting yesterday and I feel like complete crap. Sore throat, running nose, constantly sneezing, hard to sleep - it's the worst. I wanted to go for a walk today, but think I'll hit the treadmill instead to avoid the tree pollen.
Question - and I may ask this in a STM thread later if no one sees it here - but any of you STM's have a recommendation of a good website to buy used cloth diapers? I was going to look around craigslist but that's always a bit sketch. Once we announce on FB, I can join a FB group for it (of which I'm sure there are a few), but we haven't done that yet...
@hezzer78 in my area, there are buy/sell/trade fb sites for strictly baby gear and I often see cloth diapers for sale on those. Also, do any of the school districts around you have early childhood PTA? We have a ton of resales in the spring and fall that all the ECPTAs host and they are a great place to find used baby gear, including diapers.
It’s worth a search on fb for used cloth diaper groups or general cloth diaper groups. I bet they would also be able to help.
@hezzer78 I tried eBay, wasn’t a fan. My fave cloth diapers for DS were from www.theluvyourbabyco.com and they’re pretty cheap new - around $5-7 each for pocket diapers. I plan to get a few more from there to supplement what I still have from DS. For used cloth diapers I’d probably look at cloth diaper BST groups on Facebook. Cloth diapers aren’t at all popular in my area, so me looking on my local BST boards is basically useless.
We are finally switching DD over to the convertible car seat today. I had hoped this seat would take up slightly less space in my car and could fit behind the driver’s seat so that the bucket seat could stay behind the passenger seat for new baby. No go. Looks like I’m on an expedited track for a new car before August. I had hoped that maaaaybe we could make it work in my car and save ourselves the monthly payment, but definitely not happening.
@hezzer78 depending on what brand you would like to use there are bst FB pages for almost every one. There are also bst specific to each of the larger online boutiques. I use Blueberry and of you are looking to try them out their FB bst is pretty legit.
Have you considered doing a cloth diaper rental? Some online boutiques do a rental that let's you test a variety of brands. Although it's a sunk cost it can save you from trying a lot of brands and wasting money that way. My sweet pickles is one that offers but there are others out there.
There's nothing wrong with buying used. I have tips to ensure you get a quality product if you want later later on.
Oh one more tip. If it's your first experience cloth diapering I recommend skipping the newborn stage. Because they are so small it can be more difficult to get good fits if you don't have a system you already love set up. Once they get closer to 12 pounds they're juicy enough to get good leak free fits.
You guys. Is there ever going to be an age when I stop watching Harry Potter marathons? I’m 32 and I see no end in sight. I guess now that they are on HBO instead of Freeform though, at least it’s a little more acceptable?
@hezzer78 we have a local shop here that sells both new and used diapers and will buy back your diapers when you’re done. It’s good because they won’t accept things with issues and will replace elastic as needed, so you have a good, ready to use diaper. If you have a place like that, I think it’s ideal!
@juliebird6 No, there is not. I’m currently re-reading all the books in order because I’m bored. It’s something to do while DS & DH are entertaining each other on the Xbox.
@juliebird6 I thought the same thing when we switched DS, and I was surprised and how the convertible still took up a lot of space! 2 seats will not work in one of our cars, and it needs work that isn’t worth doing because the car is older, so we will also be car shopping. I started researching this week and I’m already overwhelmed... and also dreading another car payment. Wahhhhh.
Trying to get back to working out, I’m so unmotivated this pregnancy.
@lolog531@juliebird6 my husband just went without me and replaced my car for a bigger insisting we needing more room with a Honda Pilot. It’s great that it’s so big but wow it’s taking some getting used to. And wahhhhh to the monthly payment

@melprop I hope your tribe gets to feeling better and sleeps it off.
@mrsbubbles-2 I was surprised how much of an internet presence the owner of the US pic had and how easy it was to piece together. Not the smartest cookie - that troll!
@juliebird6 if it’s not too late to return the car seat, you might check out CSFTL (car seats for the littles) they are online and on FB and will help you figure out the best seat for your car and budget. Very helpful.
MY OLDEST TURNS 13 TODAY. Soooo, now I’m official fan old lady. Lol. MIL was telling me her oldest was 16 when she had her last. So, I guess it’s more common than I realize to have such a spread.
And FYI, my teenager is my easiest. I swear my hardest kiddo is my 7 year old (she’ll be 8 next month), and my 4 year old is just a crazy 4 year old. Lol.
OMG, the sun! It still exists! I feel like I haven't really seen or felt the sun in months. As such, sunbathing in the driveway was in order, and I finally feel Vitamin D satiated. Nothing like laying there with the dog and cats on the other lounger and chickens also sunning nearby in the warm, wind protected area. heh
I have a question. 2nd tri mamas, are you crampy again? I don't remember this with my first other than round ligament pain but this is like period cramps and pretty constant. I used the doppler and my medically untrained self feels ok having heard the heartbeat at the same rate as usual but these cramps are freaking me out!
@neeraja_k the sun is so great today! Went on a 4 mile walk with DH and the dog. It's still chilly but way nicer than the weather we have been having.
Between that walk today and prenatal yoga yesterday, my legs are barking. Felt nice to get some real exercise though.
@Firemanswife11 I have been a little more achy the last week or so, but nothing I would describe as cramps. Could very well be nothing but probably worth checking in with your doctor.
@Firemanswife11 I've had a little cramping on and off- usually every other week or so. The first time I went to the doctor because I was worried. My doctor said it's just everything moving around and not to worry. I wouldn't worry too much, but if it will make you feel better definitely call your doctor.
I get my Panorama results by Friday and I can't wait to find out the sex. I've been looking at baby clothes all day- I'm probably going to spend a pretty penny as soon as I find out.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@Firemanswife11, no cramps, but rlp. I started getting bh very early with my first, like 20 weeks. I know you're not there yet but it's possible it could be bh or just baby positioned differently. I'd call the nurse line and just leave a message if you have no other symptoms.
@Firemanswife11 not crampy but I’m pretty sure my pubic symphisis is haunting me a trimester earlier this time. If I get up from sitting or standing it takes me a few steps until I feel like i can put full pressure down and my pubic bone just hurts.
A slight vent. My sister came over to spend time with DS which only amounts to a few hours and when I suggest she has him for the whole day sometime she looks at me like I’m crazy. I mean she’s good with him but she doesn’t want her own kids so she can go months without seeing DS which makes me sad. She’s never taken him anywhere or babysat him ever. And he’s 5 in April.
Aaaand now I'm freaking myself out about my husband's carrier screening results again. We should have them by Thursday at the latest, and the odds of him being a carrier for the same disorder as me are slim. Also, my NT scan would have picked up any abnormalities. But now I'm freaking out again.

Yeah, @Firemanswife11 I feel way more uncomfortable this time. Especially today after DH and I DTD yesterday now that I'm officially off pelvic rest. I'm so glad I ordered that home Doppler!

I had to come to the realization that the relationship I hoped my siblings would have with my daughter are none existent. One of my sisters has a relationship with her, it just not what I hoped. I have to be ok with that and it is their loss.
@ssthomps I know. We have friends that care to see my son more than my sister. Just sucks, she’s my only sibling and won’t have kids so my kids will never have cousins. DH’s brother is pretty much a vagrant that’s in and out of jail for petty stuff in another state. He has a half sister that’s 17 but she lives in Florida. Just bums me out.
DH’s best friends are DS’s “uncles.” They’ve had great relationships with DS since he was born. Otherwise DS’s only aunt & uncle who care about him, DH’s sister & BIL, live halfway across the country. DH’s brother married a prescription drug addict, and we try not to hang out with them except for family holidays. But DS’s honorary uncles willingly play with him when they’re here and include him as much as they can.
@hezzer78 YGPM
@Firemanswife11 yeah, I feel pretty crampy lately. Even more than I did in early first Tri. The baby really starts growing rapidly at this point, so I attribute I to that.
@Firemanswife11 I’ve been crampy off and on for weeks. It comes and goes, but it’s more of achy cramps than shooting pains of similar to PMS cramps. I voiced concern at my appointment a couple weeks ago and my OB assured me it’s just rlp and everything moving around. I remember it from last time, but it just seems more frequent this time around. I thought maybe mine would be less instense this time since my body has done this before! Wishful thinking!
@Firemanswife11 I’m getting cramps, too, and my midwife said it will feel similar to period cramps because the uterus is shifting up and out of the pelvic bone, plus baby is growing a lot now. Always good to call your own doc to put your mind at ease, though. I hope you get some relief.
I’m so irritated tonight for no real reason. We got back from our little road trip and I’m just overwhelmed by how tired I am and how messy our house is. It feels like DH truly takes time off work when he’s home and I’m never allowed to take time off. I need to just sleep for a week and then I’ll be better. So, I guess I’m actually irritated for many reasons.
@Firemanswife11 I still get random cramps on and off and sometimes I would even consider them similar to mentrual but they don’t last long, more come and go. I remember this with DS as well

@princesslockness that’s a good point, too. I did have a c/s with DS, so the scar tissue could definitely be impacting the increase of pressure and cramping!
