  • How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
24 weeks and 5 days- due 5/30. Currently, the baby is a cantaloupe.

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I'm feeling ok but I have noticed I'm starting to have more limitations with my recent growth spurt. I was trying on clothes this weekend at Kohls and the bending and pulling of putting on clothes made me feel lightheaded and I had to sit down. I ended up cutting my errands short and going home and taking a 2-hour nap. I also find myself having more trouble bending over to help the kids zip their jackets and if I drop something on the floor I have been recruiting my kids to pick it up for me.

My current rant is I have no summer clothes that fit and I am going to Florida next week. I thought I had enough to wear but when I tried on my past maternity clothes nothing fit right. I am so grateful for a trip to a warm place for a week but it makes me want to cry that I have nothing to wear. I hit up Amazon and Target with deliveries to arrive before I leave and I am hoping for the best.

My rave is I am going on vacation in 5 days and the adult to kid ratio is 2 to 1 so I may actually get to relax a bit (even if I may end up walking around naked or in a potato sack)!

    Any upcoming appointments?
Nothing until the end of the month but it will include the dreaded glucose test.

GTKY: Have you started thinking about your hospital bag? What is one thing you plan to bring that you don't typically see on the hospital bag packing lists?
This will be my third go and I have overpacked each time- I bought Thank you notes with my first born because I thought I would have time to finish up my shower thank yous. I will probably pack a little less this time (though still completely overpack by my husband's standards) and I won't be bringing the Thank you notes but I will have my sound machine and my infuser- both things that made a huge difference in my first two births. The hospital actually has an infuser but I like mine better so I'm packing it.

24 weeks- June 5- an ear of corn My due date was originally May 26 once it changed I decided I liked this board way better than the  June one. DS was 3 weeks early so I’m hoping this guy will be a may baby

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
So, so, so tired and easily out of breath.
Love feeling the Stronger baby movements. At least until he finds my ribs.

GTKY: Have you started thinking about your hospital bag? What is one thing you plan to bring that you don't typically see on the hospital bag packing lists?
Last time the only thing I had in my bag was the baby’s coming home outfit. I went into labor 3 weeks early and had my mom stop at my house to finish packing for me. I ended up staying in the hospital gown the whole time I was there and we kept DS In just A diaper and swaddled until we left. Now that I know what to expect I’ll probably still bring comfy clothes to nurse in and actually wear them. I didn’t bother bringing a book or anything extra Just a few snacks for after.

    24.4 two cantaloupes

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Just had my 2nd family shower this past weekend which was fun. We've gotten a lot of stuff so awesome and our nursery is done just finishing some decorating. Have my 3 hour glucose test on Friday since I failed my 1 hour last week. Super anxious. Overall feeling good! Rave- going out of town with my immediately family this weekend so excited. Rant- the glucose test :s

    Any upcoming appointments?
Glucose test Friday. Next check up is March 7th at 28 weeks and we get to have a growth ultrasound  <3

GTKY: Have you started thinking about your hospital bag? What is one thing you plan to bring that you don't typically see on the hospital bag packing lists?
FTM so I'll rely on advice from others! Definitely minimal packing. Question to others- at what point did you install your car seats? (How many weeks) Same goes for hospital bag packing. I definitely want to prepare early (twins, preterm labor, bed rest, all the late 3rd tri complications etc..)
  • @doubleblessings08 good luck with your glucose test! I had my son at 36w6d and we hadn’t installed the car seat yet. Thankfully It wasn’t very hard to install and my husband just grabbed it when he went home to let the dog out. Same goes for the hospital bag I planned on doing it that week. This time I’ll probably pack the bag and pull out the infant car seat around week 34-35.
  • @doubleblessings08 Our local ambulance company does monthly free car seat installs and inspections so when I had my second I had the seat installed pretty early. I learned I had made so many mistakes with my daughter’s car seat safety (snowsuits and not lining the chest plate up) that I wanted a professional to install the second time and to get tips for safety.
I don’t know when I started packing my hospital bag but I was still packing it up to the last minute. I went into labor at home with both my kids. I don’t know what my plan was if I wasn’t home- I never kept it in my car.
I did have to have my mom stop at my house and get more comfy pants because labor and birth are messy. This time I will be sure to pack plenty of extras.
  • @doubleblessings1124 We didn't install our car seats before our twins were born either.  They came early (at 35 weeks) so we didn't really think to do it ahead of time.  Same with my bag.  I had a few things in the bag a few weeks early (their baby books and their coming home outfits) because I had been admitted to L&D a few weeks before I had them because of frequent contractions, but otherwise I just had MH throw my stuff in it the morning my water broke.  My pjs, the camera, phone chargers, that kind of stuff.

  • I think the best bet is figure out your packing list ahead of time and that way if labor comes early someone else can get everything you need.
  • I'm probably going to start a checklist of things I need to take to the hospital in a few weeks. My midwife said they're going to try for an early check out for me if everything goes smoothly since I have DS. If that's the case, I'll only be at the hospital for 24hrs.

How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?
    25 weeks; May 29th; cauliflower

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I feel overwhelmed currently. Conferences are next week at school, I need to grade papers, fill out paperwork, clean my house, etc, etc. I'm just so tired by the end of the day!

    Any upcoming appointments?
    2 weeks; glucose test

GTKY: Have you started thinking about your hospital bag? What is one thing you plan to bring that you don't typically see on the hospital bag packing lists?
I've thought about it a little. I've thought more about what I want her coming home outfit to be. lol I'm probably going to pack minimally. I have a small medical bag in my car that DH put together for me (medical gloves, gauze, alcohol wipes, shoe laces, medical scissors and puppy pee pads). The hospital is 32 miles away and in Atlanta so I'm terrified I'm going to deliver in the car. We have the supplies if that happens.

  • I would like to add to my weekly rant that my MIL got my kids harmonicas for Valentine’s Day. Clearly she hates me!
