Prenatal yoga class went great! Felt like I got a calm, nice workout in and got to hang out with some pretty cool pregnant ladies. Ended up getting coffee with my friend who invited me afterwards. She works with me and is about 3 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy. It was really nice to just sit and talk about being pregnant, especially with someone who is dealing with some of the same things I am since she is in the same line of work.
Where is all the Olympic coverage? Expected to just have it playing all day. Is it only on cable or something?
Same @amac12999 we made no official announcement just some baby shower pics that friends posted!!
@hezzer78 Boston is great obviously! There is a lot to do north and south. You could go to Cape Cod, I forget when you will be travelling but the Cape would be amazing if the weather was right!!
@doctormom33 It's mostly on NBCSN. I set up a series recording, so I can watch from my DVR and avoid commercials. The South Korean Women's short track relay was amazing!

@hezzer78 we did San Antonio for a baby moon last time I was pregnant, but I’m a history nut, so we did all the Spanish Missions and the Alamo. We might even do it again this summer because Sea World has a Sesame Street area and DS is obsessed right now.
I was just in NYC in September and had a great time! I don't think we did anything that couldn't be done while pregnant. I also really like Washington DC, but I am a history nerd and love all of the museums and monuments. Not sure if that is very appealing to other people.

Thanks, mamas. It's been really hard, and I feel guilty not being able to just let go and be excited because DH is so excited. I know he'd like to go public after our next appointment (and I know our baby's godfather can't wait to start bragging about being the godfather), but we'll still be waiting for our NIPT results and his genetic testing results (and depending on those, we may have to do CVS or amnio). He's just 110% convinced everything is going perfectly, and even though every doctor I've spoken to and seen agrees with him, I can't just accept it. It's like that scene in 'Malcolm in the Middle' when he gets a scholarship

That’s my jam. I haven’t been to DC I several years, but I don’t think we’ll do any plane trips until both kids are our of car seats . Technically we could drive, but we’d have to stop overnight. I‘d love NYC, too. I’ve never been and DH’s aunt lives there.
@derbysquirrel I lovvvvve NYC too. Heading there for Paddy’s Day Parade! Cannot wait!
@jsnakehole it’s ok to feel how you feel, it’s a defence mechanism and I can definitely relate. I feel less like that this time around but last time I had similar fears and worries. Big hugs!!
@lalala2004 The Metropolitan Museum of Art was definitely a highlight. I'm not a fine art aficionado in general, but the artifacts they have collected are amazing, and that place is HUGE! Definitely plan on spending at least a whole day there if you can. It's also right at the park, so you can take the kids to spaz out at the playground if you need to.

There's an amazing playground literally right next door to the Met. My aunt used to take me and my little brother there to play when she would babysit us.

Hey all. Donut fest was amazing and I’ve had my share of sugar for the day. My friend and I went to a delicious little Vietnamese restaurant for some pho and it was so yummy. Now I’m home with DH and DS and we are relaxing on the couch, watching the Olympics. It’s freezing rain outside, so we are stuck.

I would love to go there! I wish we would have a chance before this baby came....
Ooo DC Is a possibility! I've been once and just drove through and spent about 3 hours total in the city. I would love to go to the museums and stuff.
I'm hesitant to go to NYC because I've been and so has H, but he hasn't been since pre-9/11 so he kind of wants to go again. I've been to Boston, but again as a quick overnight and didn't have time to really see anything of the city. Our spring break is Mar 10 - Mar 18. I would imagine Boston on St. Patricks to be crazy!
I;ve also never been to the grand canyon so that's a possibility too..
@jsnakehole I hate being pregnant and that’s okay! Not everyone is made to love it. As soon as you can accept that the easier it will be sending love. It’s tough.
@hezzer78 DH and I are going to Vegas. Good food, shows and lounging by the pool. Do you go in water at all?
My dad and brother love Vegas. They used to go every year. I'm only interested in going for the buffets.
NYC is pretty awesome to visit (and I can definitely give good recommendations on what to see and do!) but I love DC. We're thinking of doing our babymoon in DC- I love the museums and monuments.
I talked to DH on the phone (he's at drill) about my anxiety and he, as usual, was very understanding. He said we don't have to officially announce until I feel ready, even though he thinks our appointment on Monday is going to go great. I'm heading to my parents' house for dinner and my birthday cake (my birthday's tomorrow). My dad is awesome and got a Carvel ice cream cake because that's what I wanted. My brother and SIL are there, which I have mixed feelings about, only because my SIL hasn't been too pleasant since she's been pregnant. But eh- I get ice cream cake!

I want cake. (This is the random thread, right?)

It is my pup's second birthday today. Nothing too special planned but she has received extra treats and a long afternoon walk. Here is a pic of her at 8 weeks when we first got her versus recently (myself included for scale). I never had pets growing up, so having such a connection with and affection for for an animal has really taken me by surprise over the last 2 years. She loves kids, and I can't wait for her to be a big dog sister.
Today was my first day wearing a maternity shirt because I know I had zero chance of bumping into anyone I know. I’ve been wearing loose tops but today I wore a tight maternity long sleeve T and DH must have said “wow I can really see your bump” or “wow you’re really showing” like ten times. Sorry love, it’s like 90% fat, but whatever

I wore one today, but I’m sure people thought I had just eaten too much Chipotle.
@doctormom33 I want a Newfie so bad! DH and his ex had two Bernese Mountain Dogs that we shared 'custody' of for the first few years of our marriage. Giant breeds are the best!
ETA trigger warning
We had to put them both down within a year of DS being born.

@lakesideknitter I am most definitely biased but Newfies are pretty amazing dogs. She was a bit of a bull in a china shop as puppy but has become a really sweet dog as an adult. If you have had bernese mountain dogs, I don't have to tell you about all the fur that constantly litters our house... Small price to pay though I think!
I am on cloud 9 today. So I haven’t been super open about this but SO and I have had a really weird time since my BFP. He was leaning more towards not ready (he doesn’t have any kids) and thought I was still possibly considering that option. We finally had a big talk on the phone on Tuesday and i was like look you can either get on board or not but what you’re thinking isn’t happening.
I saw him for the first time since that convo last night and it was so so so much better than I thought. He kept touching my belly, couldn’t stop looking at the ultrasound pic i gave him, and kept talking about how excited he is now that he’s accepting he’s going to be a father. He’s being so adorably sweet about everything now and I just can’t stop smiling.

That at doesn’t make sense tho. Because Iceland is green. And Greenland is icy. This has always bothered me.
