    17 weeks, a pomegranate

    New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms
Feeling baby move! Definitely one of my favorite symptoms.  :)

    Appointments/US this week
I had an appt with my OB last night.  Also still dealing with some wisdom tooth pain.  We are going to try some antibiotics and palliative care stuff to see if we can hold off on extracting until baby is born.  But if it gets infected again, I'll have it taken out.

    Random Questions
None that I can think of

    Rants/Raves
This darn tooth.  I really hope it starts feeling better soon.  I am really sick of soft foods :(

Mardi Gras is a pretty big event in StL, so I guess I'll say that.  They have a pet parade that is usually a good time, but we will miss it this year due to a birthday party anyway.

16 weeks; an avocado. And I've been thinking about guacamole lately...

    New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms
I have to pee a lot during the day. I haven't been getting up in the middle of the night yet, but now that I've "said" it, I bet it starts happening soon. :D My back acne has been AWFUL lately, and the OB prescribed me clindamycin. It's been unpleasant and itchy, and I need relief.

    Appointments/US this week
I had an appt this morning; just a general checkup with the OB. I also had blood work done for AFP-4/quad. Heard the heartbeat and it's strong!

    Random Questions
Can't think of any at the moment.

    Rants/Raves
The Babies R Us near us is closing. :( There's a Target near us, too, so there's that, but it was nice to know there was a baby store close by, too.

What BIG EVENT is coming up during which you would normally party (aka DRANKS) and you cannot this year?
My birthday is at the end of next month. There's also a company meeting at the beginning of next month, and there's always booze (I work in advertising). Also, we are going out with friends to a restaurant that is BYOB this weekend, and my friend is asking if she should bring her sangria. Normally, I would say of course, but we haven't told any of our friends yet (we'll share as we see them). So I guess for now I'll just say I'm on antibiotics (clindamycin is an antibiotic!) and tell them the real reason on Saturday.

    17 weeks. Smartphone-sized.

    New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms
Lightheaded and crazy dreams continue. Gums starting to bleed a lot when I brush my teeth.  Lots of weird pains, but I think maybe I'm feeling the baby move...?

    Appointments/US this week
    Nothing until February.

How do you keep the anxiety at bay?

    *TW*
A friend just told me she had a loss at 20 weeks.  Really scared me.

    Rants/Raves
Work has been super busy.  That's good and bad.  Lots of good work, but also concerned that my bosses seem to think I will get all my work done this year with 3 fewer months to do it...

What BIG EVENT is coming up during which you would normally party (aka DRANKS) and you cannot this year?
My event is a past event - our annual Three Kings Day Party. We told some friends our news then and one said, "Well, I figured, since you weren't drinking tonight."

  • @adventuresawait1: My dreams have been crazy, too! Sometimes I try to stay in bed longer if I can and "finish" the dream so they're not so strange, but that never works.

As for the anxiety, I feel you. It can be so scary and upsetting to think about. I try to stay busy and distract myself. Like you, work is very busy, so that helps. When I'm not working, there's always something to do around the house, or something on TV to watch. Basically, I try not to think about what can go wrong, and when I find myself thinking about it, I just say to my belly, "Nugget, stay strong and keep on growing in there!" Or I try to think of something else (hopefully something positive). I also keep thinking about all I've been doing to stay healthy, and how well my dr. appts have been so far. It's tough, and the thoughts are inevitable, but distraction seems to help with my anxiety. May not be the healthiest solution, but whatever works, you know?

  • @supersara2 I'm a bacne monster. Had you tried anything topical before the antibiotic? I was avoiding salicylic acid but just caved and got a 2% salicylic acid/glycolic acid spray. Realllly hoping it works!
  • @supersara2 I have soap that is charcoal and eucalyptus or mint that I use in a loofah then after I use a tea tree with eucalyptus body butter.  A cooler shower helped my itching too, hot water showers made it itch like crazy when I got out

  • @ckmb_knottie I gave up my Neutrogena body wash when I found out it wasn't good during pregnancy and switched over to The Body Shop's tea tree oil line. It works OK enough for my face (my acne was terrible the first trimester, but it seems to be calming down, thankfully). The body wash, though, doesn't do anything.

@myfairbump How does the charcoal/eucalyptus/mint/tea tree combo work out? I'll try a cooler shower...but it's soo cold outside! Makes sense that it would work, though. Thanks for the tip!
  • @supersara2 I think it has helped a lot, I've noticed a big difference

  • @supersara2 Thanks for the encouraging words. Really like the idea of re-focusing on the little one and staying positive. :)

@myfairbump Do you mean baby-related classes? Friends have recommended baby CPR and breastfeeding classes, so will likely do both of those.
