  • @SmashJam I’m so sorry you are sick. It seems like everyone is sick these days. I’m glad you can get your pictures!!

AFM - sitting here in a French bakery down the street from my house enjoying my one cup of coffee. I don’t think I could ever give up coffee. Glad the first trimester nausea is over because it was rough without my little jolt of caffeine in the morning.
  • @SmashJam I am sorry you are sick. We have 2 sick kiddos at our house and I hate seeing them miserable. What a sweet gesture from the photographer!

@nimmle Id love to be sitting in a french bakery, preferably in France of course. ;)

What is with these crazy dreams?! I swear they are just totally out of left field sometimes. Dang hormones!

Oh and Im crossing my fingers that my tax return will get here before the 3 week extension the government approved runs out! I need that money lol!

  • @busymommy23 I am so with you on the crazy dreams!

I woke up this morning and my face was beet red and super hot. I took a cold shower angled then put a cold cloth on my face, but it is still hot and red. So weird.
  • I have to go to a meeting soon, and it's in Manhattan so I have to take the subway from my office, and it's a business meeting so I'm wearing a suit. I hate wearing suits, especially pregnant, and I hate taking the subway, especially during flu season. At least I have breakfast on the way, so there's that.

Also, kind of weird, seeing this talk of tax returns has reminded me that neither of us have gotten our W-2s yet to file. We definitely usually have them by now. Last year we owed like 3K, that was fun. This year we withheld a lot extra from our paychecks and I am reallllllly hoping for some money back. We could use it.

On a similar note, has anyone else noticed extra money in their paycheck recently? H and I both saw an increase in the last week, I guess because of the new tax law?
  • Sorry you’re sick @SmashJam we have it at our house too. Hope you feel better soon.
  • ugh I hate being down to one car... almost had to cancel PT this morning because I forgot my husband had to take my car to work. SIL to the rescue i get to borrow her car while she watches dd!

@SmashJam That's so kind of the photographer!! Coming from someone in the "creativity for sale" business, I'm sure she'd love some shout-outs on social media and a review on her website/FB page/through email.

@busymommy23 +1 to the crazy dreams! DH and I just binge watched Peaky Blinders and all dreams have been about war between gangs (that I'm in), gathering soldiers, or stealing babies. Not restful!

My random is that LO (7 mo) sleeps great at night. However, we somehow got into a bad schedule so she's sleeping from 9pm-10am (instead of 7pm-8am). This means she's more cranky, nap times are screwed, and less wind down time at night with DH. Not altogether terrible but I NEED to get back to the regular schedule.

Also, our dog has allergies and since the weather has warmed then cooled than warmed, his allergies are bad. He's constantly licking which wakes me up at night. I'm pretty sure we'll allergy test him and start injections but we're short on funds right now. Steroids have too many side effects and other meds are too pricey.

Edited for spelling and add dog stuf
  • @SmashJam feel better soon!

@zande2016 ugh i hate pregnancy suits. So awkward. We haven’t received our w2 either but we usually do by end of Jan. No increase in check yet. I had heard my husband say it would take effect in feb so idk. I’m just here waiting for that. I’m always scared of having to pay taxes but i get lots take out so fingers crossed we get a good chunck back again. The child credit helped last year. With a new house and all the wonderful expenses we can claim i hope it’s in our favor. Hope you don’t have to pay this year!
  • @zande2016 After I read your post, I checked our banking app and my husbands paycheck is slightly bigger too. He didn’t get a raise, so it must be the new tax laws. I’ll take it!
  • Hmm i just compared my last check of 2017 and a new one and my takes went down by like 5 bucks only. I’m getting 20 bucks less because of benefit costs. Still hoping for a better tax break to come...
  • @TalesOfASocialIntrovert could you skip the later nap on day in favor of early bedtime? It’d make that day miserable but it might be a good jumpstart for routine change
  • I second that @hillbillywife. I think that could definitely help @TalesOfASocialIntrovert
    April Siggy Challenge Social Distancing

  • @hillbillywife and @lindsayleigh1989 That's not a terrible thought but that would mean a likely 5 or 6 hour stretch which makes her super crabby and actually much harder to get to sleep. Unfortunately, it would probably result in a later bedtime between crying and rewaking.
  • @TalesOfASocialIntrovert yeah trying to get back on schedule sucks lol.
  • @smashjam That's so nice of her to be understanding and offer the pictures for free, what a nice little treat during a hard time like this! The whole world is sick, I'm ready for it to go away soon. Feel better!

@busymommy23 Definitely in the same boat with the dreams. They started around 3 weeks and have been every single night since.

@zande2016 My friend owns a business and he said his employees were taking home more now due to the GOP tax law. I'm glad you're seeing a difference, that's really great!

@Talesofasocialintrovert sorry the little one isn't on the right schedule at the moment. Allergies for dogs suck!! Could you try an oatmeal bath to soothe the itchiness slightly until you can get him to the vet?

@emsnedds good luck at your appointment! Can't wait to hear your results.

Random: It's been a long month. An uncle died two weeks ago, my grandmother-in-law died last Tuesday and hospice said my grandfather-in-law will pass today. I'm in school and have a full time job so I've basically been invisible to the bump lately. Sorry ladies. My husband just got an internship yesterday so he'll be working there 20 hours a week, have a different full time job and be a full time student this semester. Things are getting CRAZY!!

  • @gspmom21 i am so sorry for your losses! No need to apologize!
  • @wildtot thank you, I feel like that *lurker* or drive by ute picture poster. lol :D I haven't been involved much lately. Although, I agree with the ladies and am wondering where @christycalifornia is hiding, miss her too!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @gspmom21 never a lurker lol didn’t @christycalifornia say she had family/friends over? Regardless she has been missed.
  • @gspmom21 I’m so sorry to hear about your losses. One loss is hard enough but 3 around the same time has to be pretty taxing. Be sure to take care of yourself during this time!
  • @wildtot she probably did, I haven't caught up on the pt 1 random post since the second one is here.. probably should have done that. lol

  • @brittany121087 Im not a big fan of sheet masks but the bath and body works ones are pretty nice. I did the cucumber one and it definitely made my skin feel pretty soft and moisturized after!

  • It is 22 degrees out right now but so sunny and beautiful if I wasn't pregnant and sick I would want to drink beer by a bonfire all day and go sledding. Its lovely out. 22 after a string of cold rainy days has a way of feeling like spring!

@gspmom21 oh man three family members in a row is so rough. My thoughts are with you. And you guys sound so busy, no apologies needed! you can post random ute pics anytime.

Also I totally stalked christy and I probably am not as good at this as @lindsayleigh1989 so maybe I misread but it looked like her last comments in discussions were all the way in december? Did I misread that?
  • @wildtot, no need to apologize, looks like a lot going on for you, sorry for your losses!
@zande2016 I'm on the train on my way to a meeting but it's not crowded and I'm wearing one of my motherhood dresses with a blazer and boots. Sorry about the suit being uncomfortable!
@busymommy23 crazy dreams indeed. Last night I was escaping from a psycho killer/rapist. Fun times.

I'm dreading taxes. I sold my home last year and didn't pay any then so I know this year isn't going to be great. Hubby owns stocks in his dad's company which is in Texas so lovely California wants to collect state taxes from that. We expect to pay tens of thousands...we planned for it, but it still sucks so bad! We're hoping this is the last time we owe this much. I haven't seen a change in my paycheck yet but I also found out my stupid accountant at work was not withdrawing California taxes...so I have to watch him closely. Don't want to owe even more because of that! We technically should be seeing a change, but I'm not so optimistic given I personally did not support the bill.
  • @gspmom21 you will never be a lurker to me  <3
@christycalifornia was "last active" on January 13th. so maybe she is just busy?

  • haha @lindsayleigh1989 see I knew you would be better! I thought I was looking at it wrong, but I have a horrible concept of time.
  • @kissableviv oh gosh!! The only upside is you're expecting the amount and won't be blindsided, but dang sorry! Does Texas claim taxes for the stock too? It'd be absurd to pay in both states. Taxes are the worst.

@lindsayleigh1989 Well thank you, sweet! I've been stressing about it... lol.

  • I ended up googling the paycheck/tax bill thing and it looks like the IRS did issue new guidance, and employers are supposed to put it into effect by February, but some already have. My H's increase and mine combined will come out to close to $300 a month, nothing major but it totally helps. I personally was not a supporter of the bill either, but I'll take the break. We learned a hard lesson our first year being married. If both spouses work, and make over a certain amount, withholding at the married rate (even without any allowances) might result in underpaying. Not making that mistake again!

sorry about your losses @gspmom21, that sounds really rough.

@gspmom21 I am so sorry for all of your losses. That must be so difficult to handle, especially with all of the pregnant hormones. You must be a super organized person to handle all of that! Prayers and good thoughts heading your way!

ETA: My random: have you ever had a craving but you don’t know what it’s for? I’ve tried pickles, bread, chocolate, and oranges, but I still want something and can’t figure out what it is!

@zande2016 @powellgirl @smashjam @ashbub714 Thank you for all of your support, I greatly appreciate it! It's a rough time, but luckily we're holding on pretty strong.

@kissableviv I think you meant to tag me, if you did thank you too!

    Edited a spelling error

  • @gspmom21 if we lived in Texas we would still have to pay taxes and I'd be happy about it because there's no state taxes there. thankfully we don't double pay, or else it'd be ridiculous!
@zande2016 I'll totally take the break too and $300 per month sounds amazing TBH! Also, I agree with being careful with withdrawing although we basically underpay but put the extra money in the 401k...we would rather do that then give it to the government! But we have to be diligent about doing that... otherwise it's more money to pay!
  • I clicked this post because I wanted to mention all of the crazy dreams I have been having but you all beat me to it! I dreamed last night that my boss and I were investigating a murder. I was so horrified by it in the dream because after all I work in the environmental field! The other night I dreamed that I was kidnapped with a few others and had to ride in a garbage can if we went anywhere...the car would tow the garbage can. So disturbing! Luckily those have been the worst.
  • @SmashJam <3 Rick and Morty btw
  • @SmashJam I hope you feel better soon!!!  And yay about the photos!!!  It's nice when people show some compassion and understanding.  Renews faith in humanity :)

@nimmle I loooooove my coffee!!!  Sometimes I'll even sneak in a second cup :)

@gspmom21 I'm so sorry you've had such a crazy month!  We are happy when you're able to chime in :)  I'm sometimes super on, and other times MIA.  It depends on the craziness!

We had a soup luncheon at work today and it was glorious.  I NEVER eat dessert but there was this chocolate cake thingy with whipped icing and I could definitely have eaten two pieces of it!!!  I'm normally more of a salty snack girl.  So I had three mini cups of different soups, a salad, two slices of sourdough, and the cake.  Hello fatty!  Don't care!

  • @workinweezel that chocolate cake sounds pretty good. Hey, you have to splurge every now and then, no shame. None!

I ordered hash browns and biscuits and gravy for breakfast this morning, I got it to go so it came in two different to go boxes to keep from mixing. My boss comes in and says, "you must have been REALLY hungry this morning huh?? TWO containers of food!" I said nothing and just stared at her until she changed the subject, it got a little awkward.

  • @gspmom21 people say such dumb things.  I wasn't really eating any more than other people, but they all said "lucky you can eat whatever you want!" My response- I do NOT use pregnancy as an excuse for anything, let alone an excuse to eat more.

  • @workinweezel that doesn't sound like a lot either, mini cups and a piece of bread. I'm not lucky to eat whatever I want. The weight has to come off after the baby. It doesn't poof away. -.- I agree, people say dumb stuff.
