  • @sjn00 - thank goodness it’s sold! I have been wondering how things are going with that.. Are your ILs back and helping mediate?

  • @mcb2016 @kmc8217 Thank you!

@g_amoss Yeah, ILs came back and I had a sit down with them. I feel better having them have my back and them knowing exactly whats going on. I currently have 100% control over everything financial, and they are thankful and appreciative of that, and are willing to help and support me in whatever case that may be. His mom is still definitely his mom, and defends his actions sometimes, but also agrees something is going on and he needs to see a therapist or someone to talk through whatever the heck is going on. ALL of the financial stress (loans, garnished wages, credit cards etc) should be all taken care of starting Feb, he is also getting a major promotion at work by Jan 31st and im praying a good raise will come with that (he is very underpaid right now). So still stressful, but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel and now all that there is to work on is fixing our credit after all of this crap. Everything is in that transition phase right now, nothing is completely set in stone, but by Feb 1st should all be done if everything goes right, so its stressful playing the waiting game for everything to go through and be finalized with the loan pay off and garnished wages, apparently they still have to decide if they want to okay for a stop or not ugh.. but yeah.
  • @sjn00 - glad they have your back! Is YH agreeable to counseling? FX he gets a good raise with the promotion.

@g_amoss No, he doesnt think he needs it and absolutely dismisses it. Once things are taken care of officially, im going to push for him to go though. I have done so much therapy and continue to do so. He needs to put forth some effort to help relationship.
  • @riversdoctor I am so sorry you are in this position.  I faced the same thing when my husband lost his job a few months ago.  Now I have pressure on me to get a raise or a new job immediately after maternity leave, and I had the same feelings as you.  Hang in there momma, you will get through this!

  • @nessa1632 good luck on your interview
  • I started this and then didn’t put mine! Whoops!!

Highlight: I got to spend a ton of time with my family this week because my husband was out of town. It was the plan for me to stay with my parents/sister (they live right next door to each other. I couldn’t do it! Lol) when my husband is gone because of the contractions I’ve been having. I don’t want to stay home alone with two kids with these contractions!!

Lowlight: there’s soooooo much to do for the baby! I am exhausted and don’t want to do it, but we have to move my son’s room in order to get the baby’s nursery going. All the moving things is exhausting!!
  • @scuba_chic Wahoo!! Such a great feeling!! DH and I are on Dave Ramsey Baby Step 2 (pay off all debt besides the house) and each "paid off" debt is such a huge psychological rush!! It's about momentum, baby!
  • @riversdoctor Thank you! Yes, it is a great feeling and addicting once you get that momentum you mentioned going.  Our house is our next "project."  Obviously we won't be paying it off anytime soon as we've only been in it 2 years, but putting extra towards principal every month is our goal.  DH calculated how much interest we'd save just by putting a little extra towards the house each month.  Its insane how much you can save and how many years it knocks off your mortgage. Congrats on paying down your debt! Once you have the mind of an investor vs. spender, it really motivates you.

We do Dave Ramsey too! We paid off our cars in four months!

    It IS a great relief!
  • @mikkimikey @riversdoctor we just started Dave Ramsey and love it!!! We are on baby step two and have paid off almost all credit cardS. Feels so good
  • @scuba_chic my hip pain has been bothering me at night too. It got to the point I couldn't walk without pain around the new years so I broke down and went to the chiropractor. They gave me some stretches and adjusted me. I have been 3 times and already feel better. I still have hip pain but I am sleeping better and I can walk most of the time without pain. This is my highlight of the week

Low light I don't have any patients with my 2 year-old anymore. Lately all he does is cry for no apparent reason and won't tell me what's wrong.

Can I add that my chiropractor gave me magnesium that helps with the muscle cramps.
  • @luna8433 - glad the chiropractor helped. And that the magnesium is helping with muscle cramps!

  • Highlight:
Officially have two specific tutoring gigs a week that will pay my rent in full. The rest is bill/savings money. It's been a touch and go business since kids were on break the last two months, so this will be amazing. Also, I'm still getting hired by people despite being so far along, and I'll have work afterwards still, and it's awesome how accommodating people have been since itll be a good sized chunk of curriculum interruption.

Lowlight: started running this week and man I was ultra super mega sore from the smallest amount of jogging. Getting back on the train, but it's a slow one !

  • @priestess619 yay you for getting back on the train! Also congrats on the jobs- what do you tutor and what ages???

High: government shutdown avoided for now; I have a grant under review this coming week which would have not been reviewed if the government were shut down. Which would have sucked bc I worked on it for 4+ months and submitted it in October (and I need a job!)

Low: I hate interviewing; my interview went well from my perspective but it’s such a crap shoot as to what they are looking for in my field. I hate the evaluation without knowing what they want. I’m surprised I actually got through it with no pregnancy brain flare ups (<- adding that as second highlight)

    edited: clarity
  • @nessa1632 I tutor mostly math K-12 and college. It's been kind of my side project before going back to school turned into a full time job!

What field are you in ? About to start the PhD interview process and definitely worried about showing up a) pregnant and b) just being nervous about interviewing and not knowing the "right" answers haha.
  • Lowlights:  it was a hard week at work and my hormones are making me uber cranky.  DH is hanging in there with me.

Highlights:  construction started on the nursery finally, but at 29w2d today with twins...will it be done in time?  I'm hopeful and anxious to put it all together.  Slept in today!
  • @priestess619 I’m a psychologist but I’m postdocing now through a training grant. I submitted an early career grant to bridge my funding. I’m on the assistant professor market though too so I totally feel ya on the interviewing while pregnant! I’ve been told not to let it make me anxious by my mentors as you will find out whether the place is family friendly or not and no where should explicitly discriminate. In terms of interviewing for PhD programs, we’ve had pregnant applicants visit and everything has been fine! It really depends on the place and the climate but you probably wouldn’t want to be at a place that is not friendly/tolerant anyway..... just convey your enthusiasm and your interests, it should be fine.
  • @nessa1632 awesome !  All the luck with the grants and assistant prof positions. Excited to be at that point in my career, but know its a whole new process of applying to things  :D its never-ending ! Pretty much relying on ONE supervisor to decide whether or not they'll accept me in their lab, which is my fault for not being as prepared as I should have ! Thanks for the encouragement- the guy I work with said "they'll either like it or they won't" and I just got to take that in stride !
  • Woo I got through to the second round of interviewing! Double highlight!!!
