I’ve been a ghost lately, we’re thisclose to being through the flu! Now it’s time for laundry and Lysol. But I’ve been lurking and love-itting like crazy!

So not trying to get political here but shit this government shutdown is going to make my head explode. I’ll be on unpaid leave for the duration and it’s just coming at a really bad time for us. Just ugh!

My mom is coming over to marathon Grace and Frankie while DH is doing a day boys’ trip with some friends to see a college basketball game. I also realized that I bought my wedding dress a year ago today and now here I am lounging in maternity leggings and planning a baby sex reveal, time flies!

I had this very intense complicated dream about my mw calling with my blood test results and then not being able to finish the call or something and find out the sex, or maybe she thought we didn’t want to know or something? 

I woke up EXHAUSTED from it and I feel all physically tense. I really want/need to vacuum sohoping I can find the energy.

i *did* get a cake in the oven that I’ll freeze to fill with colored cream to tell the kids... that way whenever I find out it’s almost ready. priorities lol.

I have to go to a 5 year olds birthday party at a park today. It’s 37 degrees, why? Why would you have an outdoor party on one of the coldest days of the year?

I fell asleep on the couch last night watching a documentary with DH and forgot to take my Diclegis. Cue waking up and puking at 2:30am and taking forever to fall back to sleep. Guess I still need the meds....

@ecwk if it was any other kid I would be saying hell no but it’s L’s best friend in school. I just don’t get why anyone would choose an outdoor location in January.

DH came home last night so we're laying on the couch with 2 out of 3 pets, watching a Netflix documentary about the Windsors. I'm excited to see the newest royal baby in a few months- it's crazy to think that I'm pregnant at the same time as Kate Middleton!

We are just doing the cake thing with family on 2/10 (DH’s mom is flying in plus my local family). Not original but it’s what DH wants. I had the blood test on Thursday and we are picking up the sex in an envelope when we go in on 2/1 for my NT scan (we should have the other genetic results before then).

We ran some errands this morning, which included buying DS a big boy mattress! He’s been in the toddler bed since right after a Christmas, but he’s getting way too big for it since he’s huge for his age. The baby is also going to need to the crib. Mega sale this weekend so we just did it. I think we are going to start with just the mattress and box spring and look for a decent, cheaper bed frame later on. He will be moving bedrooms, so once we decide what we are doing for decor we will figure out the bed. I’m hoping the transition is just as easy as the crib to toddler bed was!

@jsnakehole this is the second time I've been pregnant at the same time as kate middleton...it's all gun and games unless she picks the name you are planning to use!  A friend named her baby Charlotte a month before Princess Charlotte was born, and then she was so mad that it was going to get more popular than it already was!

@mrsbubbles-2 I get it my husband works for the government.  They can’t shut down due to where he works, it could put the country in jeopardy. They continue to calculate their pay and pay it out once they come to a conclusion. Hopefully this won’t take too long. 

@calimom2524 Party in the cold at the Park no Bueno. I get it though you gotta show up. 

@ecwk pretty much sums up my Saturday. I do have some work to get done but we will see if that happens. 

@pghctwife these pregnancy dreams are no joke. Did you decide what you are going to do regarding finding out the results?

@legallykate well first off I just tried to tag you as @legallycake lol but second, I know a lot of people do that reveal but I think as reveals go it’s actually pretty awesome because not only do you get the suspense and excitement of seeing the blue or pink you also get to eat cake and that there makes any day even better!! 


@calimom2524  IKWYM, definitely couldn’t do that in NE. DS was born in March and I’d love to be able to have the option of doing something outside but it’s way too risky. It snowed the day he was born! But hopefully you can wrap up warm and it won’t be too bad!

@delujm0 Charlotte is actually on my list! I just think it's a pretty name, even though Princess Charlotte is adorable. 

I doubt me and Kate have the same name list- mine is probably a lot more bagel-y.

What do you mean @ssthomps? Like, telling dh etc? It’ll depend on what day I find out... he works 12hr shifts and it’s a stressful job so if he’s at work I’ll tell him somehow when he gets home... maybe I’ll get a pink or blue something or other? If it’s a day he’s off, I’ll be at work. So maybe... I don’t know. I’ll text him a meme? LOL LOL LOL. Or I have that Rhonna app to make pics of your family so maybe I’ll make a pic and send it. 

The kids will find out via cake

I ordered some gap maternity tees bc my old ones either don’t fit or are stained etc. just like a long and short sleeve white and gray for layering. They came today and omg the quality has gone to shit. They were like $13 each so pretty cheap but I have old ones to compare and the new ones are way thinner and just... not as nice. Ugh. 

I wonder  if old navy or target have anything either nicer, or cheaper. 

Not it that I have time to get to target, or want to wait for more slow ass mail order

Haha no, i grew up in IL but I live in Northern California now. It’s cold for here though! The kids are having fun but you can tell everyone is cold.

Hi ladies! Checking in super quick. DD’s first birthday party is today! I’ve been making cupcakes, cornbread and chili all day, and I feel like dog shit, so that’s cool. Everyone coming to the party already knows about the pregnancy except DH’s grandma, so hopefully no one blows it in front of her or else the whole world will know. Also, wearing maternity jeans today. Thank god for maternity jeans. Hope you all all have a good weekend!

Yeah planning outside party in Jan?! Crazy. That said last yr my middles party (Jan) was like 60 our and I was wishing it was outside! Year before snow tho. This year his party is next sat and the forecast says 50*! It’s at our house so if it holds I’ll tell everyone to bring boots and send them out to the yard!

ive also gambled every year did my oldest April 7 bday with oytside. It’s been chilly some years but we’ve always been ok. But jan? Nope.

DHs weekend drill was postponed due the shutdown and his day job will be affected too grrrr. However he did put together our new king bed today so I am happy! 

Sounds DS like everyone else is having a good start to the weekend too!

Hi ladies! We’ve had a lazy day. DH cleaned up a little this morning but I had zero energy to do much more than pick up toys. Then he changed the tires on my car to snow tires which guarantees no more snow the rest of the winter, lol. Then we all napped. Yay!

i hope everyone’s doing well.

@calimom2524 Eww outside when it's that cold is the worst. Then again, I live below the Mason-Dixon line and to me, anything below 70 is sweater weather. I hate going outside when it's below 60. I'm not sure I would have been able to do that party... but that's great the kids are having a good time!

@legallykate That cake reveal sounds cute. I think you might have mentioned it, but is it a reveal for the grandparents too? Or just for your kids?

Mildy lazy, mildly productive day over here! Did some grading, cleaned the bedroom, and a nice easy dance practice (still on restricted movement til the 29th). Also finally got the plates for my new car and took a little nap. Now it's off to play video games for a bit - I've got an assignment for grad school due tomorrow but I'm procrastinating on that sucker hard core.

I did absolutely nothing today except nap this morning, play with the kids and play Pokémon ha. I did make dinner, but that only consisted of microwaving some premade chicken fajita strips I picked up yesterday lol. Super productive over here. Super excited for football tomorrow at my moms though! Hopefully I can sneak in another nap tomorrow morning before we head over there.
